Mixed up Rankings
-
I was checking my ranking reports and double checking them on Google to see if it match.
My rankings was updated today on seomoz and almost none of the rankings match the real thing. For example I have a rank that in seomoz says 9th place and i am checking it at google and it says 6th. Is there a possible explanation?
I am in a need of an answer as soon as possible.
Thanks in Advance

Have same issue but it is Google doing it's dance at the moment will take some time to settle :-).

If you check here there are a few specific reasons why your results might vary in more detail:
http://www.seomoz.org/help/rankings
About 1/4 of the way down they detail a few reasons for the differences.
They also mention trying "To turn off personalization, append &pws=0 to the end, so it would look like google.com/search?q=SEO&pws=0."
And then theres always the chance for latency: the difference in time between when SeoMoz does the search and then sends you the report.

I am using various browsers for search plus i am not logged in and i am disabling previous search activity and stuff..........
-
Are you logged into Google? Do you have search history enabled? What is your geo targeted location?
Any of these can drastically change the rankings you will see. The effects of personalized search.
The fact that you are seeing a higher ranking in your results than what SeoMoz reports leads me to believe one of the above issues is causing your issue.
I usually have multiple browsers just for this purpose. I tend to have at least one browser that I almost never use for the purpose of "checking" rankings(opera or safari). I usually clear all cache and history from the browser to anonomize the results as much as possible. As well as to make sure that I'm not logged into Google.

SEO impact of redirecting high ranking mirror site to the main website
During SEO audit for a client I noticed that they had over a dozen duplicate websites that are carbon copies of the main website. This was done via CMS platform and DNS. One of the mirror sites has about 400 indexed pages and has Moz DA of 42 and 137k External Equity-Passing Links. Full metrics comparison is attached. I originally planned on doing rel="canonical" on the mirror site but the CMS vendor never even heard of it and is refusing to implement it in the header. My only other option is doing one to one 301 redirects. Since the mirror site ranks well, even competes with main domain for some positions on the 1st page of SERP, what will be the impact after the redirects? Is doing 301's still the best option? Thanks! Search Volume in Keyword Rankings Page
Is there a way to show search volumes for keywords in the Keyword Rankings tab page? A lot of times keywords we are ranking for are added to our campaign, and it would be very useful to see the search volumes within that grid. That way we could sort by the search volume and determine which keywords are worth targeting and optimizing for. I've had this ability with other software in the past and would be a great option for either Moz Pro version or the new Beta that is coming out. Which I'm still waiting for my invite BTW:)

SEOMoz ranking reports inaccurate for Google?
So I have notice that, at least for some searches, the rankings shown in SEOMoz's ranking reports are meaningless. I assume this is due to blended search results including local search. For example, I have a client, who is ranked 3rd overall for one of his most important search terms, but his ranking is based upon his local result (there are 2 organic search results and then he is the first local result). The SEOMoz report shows him being ranked 12th. Anyway I count down to the 12th ranked site (including local search, not including local search) his site is not there. In fact the only place it is in the top 3 pages is in the local result. As a local marketing consultant, almost all of my clients are looking to be found for "Jackson Hole" this or that, or "Jackson, WY" this or that, so this is a pretty critical issue to me. I would appreciate feedback. Thanks!

What is the difference between the Rank Tracker and the On-page Optimization page?
Both of them track keywords. In the Rank Tracker, you add each keyword manually and you associate it with a URL. For On-page Optimization page, the URLs are generated automatically based on searches and traffic?

Rank tracker accuracy
Hi there, When using Rank Tracker tool from Research Tools of SEOmoz and Google Ad preview and Diagnosis tool I get 2 very different results for the ranking of the same keyword. On the Rank Tracker my website is ranked at position 28 on Google US. As I have a Google adwords account, I use their Ad Preview and Diagnosis in selecting Google.com and United States as location for the same keyword. My website comes at position 6 in the list of organic results. Which one is accurate ? Thank you in advance.

How can I change the day my keyword rankings are updated?
I have several campaigns which currently get their weekly keyword ranking reports updated on different days. I'd like all of them updated on the same day, so I can just check in one a week for everything.

On Page Optimisation rankings keep yo-yo'ing
Hi All Can you please clarify this for me as its getting a little frustrating. I get the weekly reports from the SEO Pro campaign tool and from one week to the next it keeps changing the ranking. For example cheap a boards For this page I have a on page score of A through the campaign: http://www.cheapsnapframes.co.uk/cheap-a-boards.html Last weeks report showed it was an A and then I get this weeks snapshot after the crawl and its saying its now an F but when I click on the link on the onpage tool it then is showing me an A and then changes the ranking again on the campaign. I am seeing this a lot - why is it happening? thanks Tracy
