Will updating part of my site help a static web page
-
Hi, what i am trying to find out is, i have a page on my site http://www.clairehegarty.co.uk/virtual-gastric-band-with-hypnotherapy
and i would like to know, once i have got the page to the way i want it, the page will not change, so i would like to know if i update my site and add pages and articles, will the updates help this page with google rankings, or do i have to keep updating this page if i want it to rank high with google.
i have seen pages that have never changed but they continue to rank high with google and i would like to know their secret

Thank you for this, we wanted to try and show what towns the service was available in and we have tried different ways to show this and this is the only way we have found that works, but i am open to ideas

Diane, I think this was a case of it you went to the auto repair shop to replace your tires, and your rear bumper was falling off. Even though you didn't go in about the fender, or even ask about it, it's something that stands out from the ordinary and is noticed fairly easily.
People in Q&A are generally trying to be helpful, and if they spot something else that looks like it could be a problem, they tend to say something. People come and go here, so they're not aware if previous conversations have occurred on the same topic.

i wanted to make the page as informative as possible, to help people learn all about the surgery and the hypnotherapy that does the same job

Donford - Thought that was great about Space Jam - a useful tip in my arsenal of quotes...
Diane, Yes, by increasing the value of your overall site, this page will increase also, but I would suggest you split the page up, and focus on separate aspects of the work, so as to maximise the keyword potential you have here.

hope I was able to answer that below, I just wanted to follow up on Brian's commit first because he left it a little open with saying "I'm not sure.."

HI Diane
You're asking about algorithms and what Google uses to rate a site and or page. The easy answer is the better the site is overall the easier you'll find it to rank a specific page for a specific terms.
But the more complicated answer is, that nobody in the general public knows or is telling what metric weights google gives to specific things like domain authority, site design, and page popularity.
The reason a site can generate a page and have it rank very well with minimal changes is because the page is exactly what searchers want to see.
Have you heard of "Space Jam" the movie from the 90's? They built a website about the same time and it today is still number 1 for the term space jam. Now if google finds that searching for "Space Jam" and returning NASA's space jelly page is more satisfying to users then that page may become number 1.

Hi I know about the bottom and we are looking into this as we are showing where it is available but this was not the question I asked. I would be happy for someone to come along and help me with the question I have asked

Following up on Brian's comment...
It would be considered a spam tactic and could get a easy ding if a competitor reported it. That content is specially there for search engines and provides little to no user value.

Will Google still ignore the second instance of anchor text on a page if it has an H2 tag on it?
We have a page set up that has anchor text with header tags. There is an instance where the same anchor text is on the page twice linking to the same page, and I know that Google will ignore the second instance. But in the second instance it also had an H2 tag (which I removed and put it on the first instance of anchor text even though it's smaller). Is this good practice?

How can I get Google to forget an https version of one page on my site?
Google mysteriously decided to index the broken, https version of one page on my company's site (we have a cert for the site, but this page is not designed to be served over https and the CSS doesn't load). The page already has many incoming links to the http version, and it has a canonical URL with http. I resubmitted it on http with webmaster tools. Is there anything else I could do?

Why is the Page Authority of my product pages so low?
My domain authority is 35 (homepage Page Authority = 45) and my website has been up for years: www.rainchainsdirect.com Most random pages on my site (like this one) have a Page Authority of around 20. However, as a whole, the individual pages of my products rank exceptionally low. Like these: http://www.rainchainsdirect.com/products/copper-channel-link-rain-chain (Page Authority = 1) http://www.rainchainsdirect.com/collections/todays-deals/products/contempo-chain (Page Authority = 1) I was thinking that for whatever reason they have such low authority, that it may explain why these pages rank lower in google for specific searches using my exact product name (in other words, other sites that are piggybacking of my unique products are ranking higher for my product in a specific name search than the original product itself on my site) In any event, I'm trying to get some perspective on why these pages remain with the same non-existent Page Authority. Can anyone help to shed some light on why and what can be done about it? Thanks!

Duplicate Page Title for multilingual wordpress site
Hello all, I have received my first crawl reports and I find a lot of errors of duplicate page title. In the wordpress site I use the qtranslate plugin in order to have the site in 2 languages. I also use the Yoast SEO plugin in order to put titles, description and keywords to each web page. By looking deeply in the duplicate page title errors I think I found that the problem is that every web page takes the same SEO Title for each language. But I am not 100% sure. I tried to use some shortcodes of the qtranslate plugin like the following ABOUT [:en]About in order to indicate and give different titles per language for one web page but that doesn't seem to work. Does anybody here has experienced the same problem as me? Do you have any suggestions about how to ressolve the problem of the duplicate page title? I can give you the URL of the website if you need it to have a look. Thank you in advanced for your help. I really appreciate that. Regards, Lenia

Have a client that migrated their site; went live with noindex/nofollow and for last two SEOMoz crawls only getting one page crawled. In contrast, G.A. is crawling all pages. Just wait?
Client site is 15 + pages. New site had noindex/nofollow removed prior to last two crawls.

Why won't the Moz plug in "Analyze Page" tool read data on a Big Commerce site?
We love our new Big Commerce site, just curious as to what the hang up is.

Will Google Continue to Index the Page with NoIndex Tag Upon Google +1 Button Impression or Click?
The FAQs for Google +1 button suggests as follows: "+1 is a public action, so you should add the button only to public, crawlable pages on your site. Once you add the button, Google may crawl or recrawl the page, and store the page title and other content, in response to a +1 button impression or click." If my page has NoIndex tag, while at the same time inserted with Google +1 button on the page, will Google recognise the NoIndex Tag on the page (and will not index the page) despite the +1 button's impression or clicks send signals to Google spiders?
