Too Many On-Page Links
-
Hi, I did a SEOmoz campaign and got results today, One of the results is Too "Many On-Page Links" when i am drilling down, i see that that's include inside links. for example, i sale food, i have my main department window - inside i have 30 products - each product is linked to a detailed page about the product. so automatically i have 30 links - not including all the others in this page, and i easily get over 100 and even sometimes 200 is this a big issue? does it damages my SEO? If yes, is there a way to write the HTML in a way that internal links like that wont be counted? Thank you SEOWiseUs

I tend to look at the number of links on a page and not only look at it from what Google might think, but how does it work from a usability point of view?
Are visitors easily able to navigate around the pages and site? Are links clear and concise? Do they all make sense?
If I come up with the answer "no", then I would be wanting to do something about it.
1000 links on a page is a lot and I would honestly be trying to trim this right down - are 1000 links all necessary? Perhaps looking at a new navigation structure would help.

My site menu means I have something like 1000 on page links
Theoretically Google will recognise that it's for navigation?
I'm interested in knowing how a big a deal people think this is & what you can actually do about short of having flash menu's.

Have more than a 100 links on the page is not perfect but still ok in many cases as long as it's relevant for the user.
Here is a video of Matt Cutts answering this questions:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6g5hoBYlf0
But as the video says, keep in mind that each link will dillute your pagerank.
I thought I read recently that google increased the amount of links recommended per page to 250 but I might be wrong.

Keyword ranking for different page than the page optimized
I have optimized "equipment trailer for rent" on this page: http://www.bigtrailerrentals.com/flatbed-trailer-rentals/equipment-deckover. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me why Google has chosen to rank the keyword phrase for this page: http://www.bigtrailerrentals.com/flatbed-trailer-rentals/equipment-24 This is just one example. It has happened on several of my pages / keywords.

Old web pages with link juice - still live, but not in nav tree
We have monthly newsletters posted on our website. We want to keep only 2 years (2013-2014) posted - http://www.nuxeo.com/en/about/newsletter. All of the newsletters from 2011 and 2012 have good link juice, though. They are still live on the site - http://www.nuxeo.com/en/about/newsletter/december-2012 - but they are not listed on the main Newsletter page, so you would need the direct URL to find it. Will Google punish us for this? Is this a good way to keep our link juice? Thanks.

301 to Intermediate Page then Rel=Canonical from Intermediate to target page
Hi I'm working on an eCommerce site and don't have direct access to the CMS. I had requested developers to provide me a facilty to 301 via htaccess however this is working slight differently. I need guidance from experts whether it's okay or not: Old Page: example.com/old Target New Page: example.com/new After Implementing the redirect, It redirects to an intermediate page or in other words, The same target URL with a question mark added: example.com/new? (notice the question mark in the new URL) This intermediate page has a canonical tag for the exact target URL. So, if I 301 redirect example.com/old to example.com/new? (Intermediate page) and If the intermediate page example.com/new? has a canonical tag for the exact target URL (example.com/new), Will I be able to pass the link juice and authority of old page to the new page?

Too many outbound links on a page?
We have a "Clients" page on our site with approximately 125 of our clients listed. We have a link to each client's website, so that's 125 links. I am rethinking this approach. Is there any value to having these outbound links? The SEOmoz PRO analysis tells me I have too many links on this page. I have read that more than 100 links on a page is too many, but that seemed to be referring to internal links. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Navigation Links
Our developers typically have a CSS driven html menu at the top of the page with links to inside pages. They then have the same links in the footer. Does this double navigation cause any SEO issues or does Google disregard the second set of links? Thanks, Mark

Page Rank
I had just made a 301 re-direct on one of our product pages which had a PR of 4, now that Google has indexed the new page, it's now got a PR of 0, i'm struggling to understand why this could be, i know that you may see a drop of 1, which has happened in the past, but this drop just does not make sense. Any ideas of why this could be? Kind Regards

Creating New Pages Versus Improving Existing Pages
What are some things to consider or things to evaluate when deciding whether you should focus resources on creating new pages (to cover more related topics) versus improving existing pages (adding more useful information, etc.)?
