Facebook Pages for Business
-
Our company has over 100+ stores. Does it make sense to have a main Facebook page and individual pages for each location? How does each affect SERPs?
Thanks!

This makes perfect sense and also answers my question. I think your last paragraph summed it up perfectly.
Thank you, Mike!

... I had so much written in here, then just clicked back on accident... <sigh>Let me start over...</sigh>
Unique content will help gain followers. The more followers you have, the more FB shares and likes you "should" have. This is where FB pages can impact how your website ranks in Google's SERPs.
The biggest thing with FB pages is that they need to be monitored to interact with followers, responding to their questions and concerns, and updating your content. If you do not do these things, you will not get the followers, shares, and likes you are wanting.
Depending on your company, Twitter, LinkedIn, or Google+ might be a better form of social media; however, like FB, they still need to be monitored and followers will demand interaction.
As for increasing your DA... it is wicked tough to do in a short period of time. According to SEOMoz:
"How do I influence this metric?
Unlike other SEO metrics, Domain Authority is difficult to directly influence. This is because it is made up of an aggregate of metrics (mozRank, mozTrust, link profile, etc...) that each have an impact on this score. This was done intentionally because this metric is meant to approximate how competitive a given site is in Google.com. Since, Google.com takes into account a lot of factors, a metric that tries to calculate it must incorporate a lot of factors as well.
This means the best way to influence this metric is to improve your overall SEO. Particularly you should focus on your link profile (which influences mozRank and mozTrust) by getting more links from other well linked to pages."
The short of it is that if your SEO provider is creating multiple FB accounts and they are having issues with maintaining multiple accounts, you are definitely better of with just using one. If they put the amount of time and resources into managing one account over multiple, in theory, you should be able to accumulate more followers, likes, etc., because you will be creating unique content for one source instead of creating thin content, you will be providing great interactions with followers, instead of responding a few days later, etc.
Does that help?

That does make sense and that's why I don't understand our current SEO's provider reason for creating multiple FB pages. We do not have different specials or coupons by location.
When I asked why they wanted to create pages for each location they said it was for SEO purposes and for better positioning. Yet, they created the pages and never populated them with unique content. When I asked them why the pages do not have content, they claimed to be optimizing them for SEO and their changes were on the backend. I don't see any evidence of that either! Not to mention the almost zero traffic we get from these FB pages.
Speaking to the second portion of my original question...do FB pages help your companies domain authority? Or was this just made up line item to invoice by our current SEO provider.
Thanks!

I guess that is something you should ask your self... does it make sense?
If it doesn't, don't do it; however, if each location has different specials or coupons or something unique to offer at different locations... it makes sense to me.
And if it is any consolation, Target has MANY Facebook pages, including a main Target page with Target Style, Target Baby, Target Canada, Target Black Friday, Target Wedding, etc.
And all of their different pages of different numbers of followers, likes, etc. giving each individual Facebook page its own page authority.
Make sense?
Mike

Why am I seeing so many referalls to my root domain from Facebook in Google Analytics?
When we look at referalls from Facebook in Google Analytics, more than 50% (and sometimes upwards of 80%) of the traffic we're getting is listed as landing on our root domain. The thing is, we don't have any direct links TO our root domain on our Facebook page. So is this legitimate traffic, and how are they getting to our page if we have no links to it? We do post links to stories, videos, etc, but those are to the individual pages, not to our root domain. When I look at those pages that we link to, they do have traffic numbers, but nothing compared to the root domain. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks.

Google Plus: Personal vs Business Accounts I am Confused!
Hi so I have both accounts set up, I use my business g+ for sign posting my new blog posts & latest news. I have Authorship set up on my Blog and that is working fine. I am personally v much a large part of the brand, www.over50choices.co.uk and have my face on the home page and most social property, so when i do use my G+, FB & Twitter accounts, whilst they are the business accounts, its lead by me. So just what do I use my G+ Persoanl Account for? I have read that i should either share or duplicate the my updates on both accounts, but will that look like duplication? I dont have many G+ followers currently but intend to develop this in the next few months, so its important that I get this right if i am to optimise my activity? Your help appreciated. Ash

I've read the WordPress reviews for several plugins that support FB login / comment, but the reviews are generally mixed. Even the plugin developed by FB received terrible reviews. Can you recommend a WP plugin that supports FB login? Best,

Best option for Facebook Page/Usernames?
Hey guys My first post here! currently trialling seomoz and impressed so far 🙂 My question relates to a choice of Facebook page/username for a client whose preference is to refer to their online business name by the domain name, where this business name includes his two most important keywords. So as an example: firstsecondthird.co.uk Now in terms of seo that's fine as search engines factor in keywords in the domain name, and even referring to domain name in website copy does not seem to pose too many issues. However on Facebook I've noticed that if we go with page name of: FirstSecondThird (obsiously we can't add .co.uk - I've used camel case for readability) then when using the facebook search the page does NOT get listed for any of the keywords as it appears it only matches on whole strings. So I'm going to recommend that he changes Faceook page name to First Second Third (with spaces) even though client does not really like this option. Do you guys think that makes sense? Also if I do make that change should I also go with fixed Username of First-Second-Third i.e. with hyphens or stick with one long string i.e. FirstSecondThird, which matches the domain name? Any advice appreciated. PS hope this is under right topic- several others seemed applicable Thanks

SEO Moz Page authority and Domain authority do not correllate wih SERPS
I have checked the competitive landscape and the rankings with the keyword difficulty tool. E.g. for "Schuhe" - google.de - the rankings do not correlate with MOZ Page authority and Domain authority. What are the reasons for that and what are the important factors currently not reflected in SEO Moz Page and Domain authority?
