Local SEO company
-
How important it is to choose a local SEO company based on their location? How can you check their reliability?
-
From a purely technical perspective, there's no reason that I can think of. I can, however, think of some business, relationship, and link building reasons.
-
Greater understanding of the geographic area and nuances. Working in Lancaster, PA, for instance, I've seen some seriously weird phrases that people use (and search for) idiomatically.
-
Potentially stronger (or already existing) local relationships for link building, both in terms of local business relationships as well as with local niche sites and authorities (e.g. newspapers).
-
Face-to-Face might, potentially, offer more accountability. I guess this one depends very strongly on the company you're dealing with, but you could make the argument that an SEO would develop a better understanding of your business if they meet you.
I can also think of some downsides, like lack of talent in your area.
Whether you're looking locally or further abroad, if you have concerns, references or referrals are always a big help, in my opinion.

SEO work is done over the internet, why would you need them to be a local company, other than to go to their office for face to face meetings perhaps?
-
Depends what industry you are in. I think some industries it is essential for someone to know the location and competition professionally rather then just using the same tactics they would normally use.
-
I would do a few checks, first see if they are ranking for their own term, ie we are in the miami/fort lauderdale our terms that we are looking (and are) to rank for are SEO Miami or SEO Fort Lauderdale. Local SEO does not have to be done by a local SEO person or company. However a local SEO guy probably has local connection.

Local Search Clean up Done. Now Best Way to Index?
I have spent hours doing some local search clean up and have a list of all the URLs to index, about 75. Is there a place I can dump these to get them all indexed quickly or do I have to wait for the hand of Google to come down and bless me with indexing. I don't want to dump all these to Google +, Facebook, or Twitter; that would just be wrong. Any ideas for fast indexing. I want them to all get indexed before the business address changes in a couple years 🙂

Local business ideas?
Hello, if you are good at SEO and want to launch businesses thanks to your ability to rank high on local searches, what are some good ideas? I'm more interested in the market sizes than the difficulties to rank. Another important factor is the ease to do the actual business. Because of that, I'm looking for ideas like "appartment renting San Diego" because you can create a classifieds ads website where people pay for their listings. Another good idea is "marriage photographer New York" because if you have the orders you just need to hire a few free lance photgrapher. "car dealearship London" wouldn't work on the other hand because opening a car dealerhip is too costly. Thanks a lot!

Does displaying a mobile number for business hurt local SEO?
Perhaps a silly question but could someone please clarify if displaying a mobile number in the main site or Google places etc would hurt local SEO? Is having a regional landline/fixed telephone number a ranking factor? EDIT: This is for a UK site, does anyone have experience of this is UK please?

Video hosting - SEO
Hi, We host all of our videos on You Tube and use embedded links to display on our site. When people search keywords related to our videos they are linking back to You Tube through SERPs. Is there a way link SERPs to websites instead of You Tube? Any advice would be appreciated. Sean

What is the best way to host a video on my site from a SEO perspective?
Hi, we are in the process of creating a video about a topic that is highly relevant for our customers. Once it is completed we want to offer the video to our customers so that they can embed it into their own websites for free. What is the best way to do this and still receive maximum SEO juice? If we use a a video service like youtube or vimeo, then the link will go to vimeo or youtube and not our site. One thing we are thinking about is asking our customers to link to our site in return for embedding the video, but if there is an automatic solution then this would be a lot better. Any tips will be highly appreciated! If you have anyother tips regarding video content then the same of course! Many thanks! Daan

UBL or LocalEZE? Local listing submission vendor.
We are between UBL and LocalEZE for our preferred local listing submission vendor. DIfferences:
Image & Video Optimization | | qlkasdjfw
*UBL does not have a relationship with local data vendors, but submits to axicom and infousa (as examples) which LocalEZE does not.
*LocalEZE has active feeds set up with many local vendors. What are your preferences? We are leaning twoard LocalEZE, Razorfish (the agency) is among their notable clients. What about submitting to both? I would be fearful that the data will overlap.0
