Duplicate page/Title content - Where?
-
Hi,
I have just run a crawl on a new clients site, and there is several 'duplicate page content' and 'Duplicate Page Title'' issues.
But I cannot find any duplicate content. And to make matters worse. The actual report has confused me.
Just for example the about us page is showing in both reports and for both under 'Other URLs' it is showing 1?
Why? Does this mean there is 1 other page with duplicate page title? or duplicate page content?
Where are the pages that have the duplicate page titles, or duplicate page content?
I have run scans using other software and a copyscape scan. And apart from missing page titles, I cannot find any page that has duplicate titles or content.
I can find % percentages of pages with similar/same page titles/content. But this is only partial and contextually correct.
So I understand that SEO Moz may pick percentage of content, which is fine, and therefore note that there is duplicate content/page titles.
But I cannot seem to figure out where I would the source of the duplicate content/page titles.
As there is only 1 listed in both reports for 'Other URLs'
Hopefully my long question, has not confused. many thanks in advance for any help

that is correct

Hi
Many thanks for that.
So with Canonical, I put the actual URL in the pages?
For example
I put www.mywebsite.com/buses as the canonical
Then on www.mywebsite.com/buses?p1
I use www.mywebsite.com/buses as the canonical?

if many show 1 url as duplicate this could be due to non-ww and www redirect issues or be related to dynamic urls (common for paginated pages)
if these are the case fix the redirect issue to either non-www or www and fit in a canonical tag to paginated pages. (google is your friend for finding code)

Hi William
Just as a quick note, if you click on the "1" in the Other URL column, it will take you to a page that lists the actual URL the report is flagging as duplicate.

Is there an SEO advantage to blog content being a child of /blog/ rather than the homepage?
I'm working on a website where all the blog content is listed as separate pages from the homepage, eg: www.domain.com/first-blog-post
Technical SEO | | MillyShaw
www.domain.com/second-blog-post However, it would make my life easier if all blog content was listed under /blog/ so that I could analyse it better in Google Analytics. Eg I'd like it to be: www.domain.com/blog/first-blog-post
www.domain.com/blog/second-blog-post The developer is not keen because it would create extra work for him, and he's also said it's a bad idea from an SEO point of view. But is this the case? Presumably with 301s in place it wouldn't make a difference? Thanks for your help!0 -

150+ Pages of URL Parameters - Mass Duplicate Content Issue?
Hi we run a large e-commerce site and while doing some checking through GWT we came across these URL parameters and are now wondering if we have a duplicate content issue. If so, we are wodnering what is the best way to fix them, is this a task with GWT or a Rel:Canonical task? Many of the urls are driven from the filters in our category pages and are coming up like this: page04%3Fpage04%3Fpage04%3Fpage04%3F (See the image for more). Does anyone know if these links are duplicate content and if so how should we handle them? Richard I7SKvHS

Is this duplicate content when there is a link back to the original content?
Hello, My question is: Is it duplicate content when there is a link back to the original content? For example, here is the original page: http://www.saugstrup.org/en-ny-content-marketing-case-infografik/. But that same content can be found here: http://www.kommunikationsforum.dk/anders-saugstrup/blog/en-ny-content-marketing-case-til-dig, but there is a link back to the original content. Is it still duplicate content? Thanks in advance.

Duplicate Title and Content. How to fix?
So this is the biggest error I have. But I don't know how to fix it. I get that I have to make it so that the duplicats redirect to the source, but I don't know how to do that. For example, this is out of our crawl diagnostic: | On The Block - Page 3 http://www.maddenstudents.com/forumdisplay.php?57-On-The-Block/page3 1 1 0 On The Block - Page 3 http://www.maddenstudents.com/forumdisplay.php?57-On-The-Block/page3&s=8d631e0ac09b7a462164132b60433f98 | 1 | 1 | 0 | That's just an example. But I have over 1000+ like that. How would I go about fixing that? Getting rid of the "&s=8d631e0ac09b7a462164132b60433f98"? I have godaddy as my domain and web hoster. Could they be able to fix it?
