-
Hi,
I `m redirecting some pages in htaccess
The first 15 pages that i redirected it worked. But the last 3 dont work, and i cant figure it out why it is not working.
Redirect 301 /analyseverktoy/ /webanalyse
Redirect 301 /index.php/ledige-stillinger/ /
Redirect 301 /?page_id=352/ /Anu suggestions?
-
And when you look at the final URLs in the address bar of your browser, do these URLs that return 404 errors correspond to the URLs you set up with the Redirect rule?
Usually when your redirects are messed up you get 500 Internal Server errors, not 404 errors.
Maybe the problem is not in how you defined the redirects in the .htaccess file, but you are choosing the incorrect URLs to redirect to.
-
I get a 404. page not found.
The strange part is that some are working and the other ones are not.
-
If you defined the redirect rules correctly and some works and some don't check if these new defined rules don't conflict with others previously declared. What errors do you get?
-
Any suggestions why it does not work or how we can fiks it?
-
Thanx, one of them is working...but the other ones stil dont work....
Working: Redirect 301 /index.php/ledige-stillinger/ http://mysite.com/
Not Working:
Redirect 301 /?page_id=352/ http://mysite.com/
Redirect 301 /googleanalitycskurs/ http://mysite.com/googleanalyticskurs
Redirect 301 /sokemotoroptimalisering-tips/ http://mysite.com/sokemotoroptimaliseringtips/Thank you for the advice.
-
That's exactly how I do mine. The full URL is what you are missing. You need the http:// in it.
-
It doesn't work because you are not doing it correctly
The Redirect command has 3 parameters:
1. The redirect type (in your case 301)
2. The location of the file/directory you want redirected relative to the root of your site
3. the full URL of the location you want that request sent toYou are mistaken the third parameter, because you are not putting there the full path. You should put something like this:
Redirect 301 /analyseverktoy/ http://www.yoursite.com/webanalyse
Redirect 301 /index.php/ledige-stillinger/ http://www.yoursite.com/
Redirect 301 /?page_id=352/ http://www.yoursite.com/

301 Redirecting from domain to subdomain
We're taking on a redesign of our corporate site on our main domain. We also have a number of well established, product based subdomains. There are a number of content pages that currently live on the corporate site that rank well, and bring in a great deal of traffic, though we are considering placing 301 redirects in place to point that traffic to the appropriate pages on the subdomains. If redirected correctly, can we expect the SEO value of the content pages currently living on the corporate site to transfer to the subdomains, or will we be negatively impacting our SEO by transferring this content from one domain to multiple subdomains?

Htaccess or url rewrite module for Magento 301 redirects?
I need to do about 6000 redirects for a Magento site. The pages no longer exist. I have tried the URL rewrite module but it isn't working for me and I don't want to do 6000 redirects in the htaccess files. Any suggestions?

301 Redirect? How to leverage the traffic on our old domain.
I've seen multiple questions about this but there's a few different answers on ways to approach it. Figured I'd personally ask for our situation. Any advice would be appreciated. We formed a new company with a new name / domain while at the same time buying an existing company in our industry. The domain and site of the company we acquired is ranking for some valuable keywords and still getting a significant amount of traffic (about half of what our new site is getting). A big downside has been, when they moved that site to a different server, something happened to where the site became uneducable so it's full of bad pricing and information. Because of that, we've had a maintenance page up for a little bit because it was generating calls to our sales team (GOOD) but the customer was having seen incredibly incorrect information (BAD) Rather than correcting those issues or figuring out why the site is un-editable, we just want to find a way where we can leverage that traffic and have them end up at our new site. Would we 301 redirect the entire domain to our new one? If we did that would the old domain still keep the majority of it's page rank?

Is it a problem to use a 301 redirect to a 404 error page, instead of serving directly a 404 page?
We are building URLs dynamically with apache rewrite.

When we detect that an URL is matching some valid patterns, we serve a script which then may detect that the combination of parameters in the URL does not exist. If this happens we produce a 301 redirect to another URL which serves a 404 error page, So my doubt is the following: Do I have to worry about not serving directly an 404, but redirecting (301) to a 404 page? Will this lead to the erroneous original URL staying longer in the google index than if I would serve directly a 404? Some context. It is a site with about 200.000 web pages and we have currently 90.000 404 errors reported in webmaster tools (even though only 600 detected last month).0 -
Web developer won't 301 redirect to my new website....what can I do?
I want to come away from our third party web developer and use a new website with different web developers, however the web developer wont 301 redirect the old url's to the new ones. Is he required to do this by law? Is there away of doing the 301 redirects without him? Any advice would be much appreciated. Many thanks,Tom

How to 301 redirect old wordpress category?
Hi All, In order to avoid duplication errors we've decided to redirect old categories (merge some categories).
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | BeytzNet
In the past we have been very generous with the number of categories we assigned each post. One category needs to be redirected back to blog home (removed completely) while a couple others should be merged. Afterwords we will re-categorize some of the old posts. What is the proper way to do so?
We are not technical, Is there a plugin that can assist? Thanks0 -
301 redirects.
Hi everyone, I am having some issues with an a few dynamic URLs that are not redirecting; Example: http://www.example.com/shop-online?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage_images.tpl&product_id=69164&category_id=303 I first tried to carry out a standard 301 which looked like this; Redirect 301 /longurlwith&category_id=303 http://www.example.com/new-url Which didn't work. After a little bit of research I added the following into the htaccess file; RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.example.com$ [NC]RewriteRule ^/shop-online$(.*)$ http://www.example.com/shop-online$ [NE,L,R=301] Which caused the website to error 500 (Not cool). So now I am stumped. Any help would be really appreciated as I'm sure it's an easy fix but I can't quite my finger on it. Thanks in advance :).

301 Redirect To Corresponding Link No Matter The URL?
Hey guys I have hosting on Host Gator with I believe an apache web server. I need a code to put in the HT ACCESS to redirect all WWW URL's to their corresponding http URL. I haven't been able to get a code to work. For example, http://www.mysite.org/page1.html -> http://mysite.org/page1.html , without having to redirect hundreds of pages individually Here is the format my server uses in the HT ACCESS file for 301 redirects. RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^mysite.org$ [OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.mysite.org
