When Should You Start SEO?
-
I am launching a new website (related to IT services) on Monday 6th May 2013.
What should be my SEO/SMO/PPC strategy for a brand new website with new domain ?
I have a blog within the website as well. Is it better to promote internal blog or should i focus on external bogs like wordpress ?

1st you should have to focus on on-page content its mean you will make a goal of your keywords using to promote on your website, keyword selection is most important & starting point of any new website, select your keywords with 10 competitor analysis, check the keyword competition also, then use keywords wisely on your on-page content.
SEO strategy is also based on your competitor analysis, then it depends on how much juice you will put on it with your team or by yourself actually,
SMO strategy you know that most lucrative path for success in IM. definitely make facebook page, twitter account, google+1, pinterest, tumblr. these are most important for your SMO strategy. new things are picture attraction, Pinterest is used to attraction because now in 2013 image seo is most important, 2nd tool is infographics its very important nowadays & coming arena, mostly people dnt want to read full article, if you have a attractive infographics regarding your product or whatever you want to promote, its a juicy for your website
PPC is also very strong place in it, you will have to make a budget on monthly basis how much you will invest on PPC, then select which tool you want to use, in my opinion most attractive are google adwords & facebook ads,
your internal blog is good for your website updates, news, information, but also work on external blogs, they will also help to boost your ranking in serp

I think you should design your site with the user in mind while making sure that the platform you use is SEO friendly.. The whole purpose of your site will be to attract, retain, and serve site visitors, prospects, clients, etc. Then focus on the SEO of your site which will include titles, headline tags, meta info, internal linking, etc.
You can get a good idea which keywords you should be targeting for your SEO and PPC by examining your competitors. Of course, over time you will identify which keywords are working for you and which ones have value.
I assume your site isn't built on Wordpress since you referred to it as an external blog. You want to focus promotion on your internal blog since this will boost the ranking of your site overall.

THe best way is to have excel spreadsheet put all your links and titles in nested order, so you can track them. Usually Google and Bing Give you about $100 for start which is not bad for starting ppc, also keep in mind some aspects of it services are competitive and you need to invest a lot in your ppc to get result out of it. Please please please Do not go to external blogs especially like Wordpress and comment and think admin will approve you I get about 100 sapm every day and I just delete them, or mark them as spam.I also suggest watching the starting SEO from friday withe board.
Good luck with your new site

Does having a sub-domain on a different server affect SEO?
I'm working with a company that has a hard-coded website on the root domain, and then a WordPress blog on a subdomain on a separate server. We're planning on implementing a hub and spoke model for their content, hosting the main hubs on the root domain and the linked articles on the blog. Is having the blog on a different server going to hinder our SEO efforts?

Some SEO 2016 questions
Hello MOZ Community, I have some questions where the following is still working for seo in 2016: Is an exact keyword in the domain still a good start? If a domain contains the most important keyword does one still need subfolders with that keyword in the url? Do you need multiple subpages so the main url becomes stronger? Is linkbuilding still the number one factor? Thank you for your thoughts!

Javascript redirects -- what are the SEO pitfalls?
Q: Is it dangerous (SEO fallout) to use javascript redirects? Tech team built a browser side tool for me to easily redirect old/broken links. This is essentially a glorified 400 page -- pops a quick message that the page requested no longer exists and that we're automatically sending you to a page that has the content you are looking. Tech team does not have the bandwidth to handle this via apache and this tool is what they came up with for me to deliver a better customer experience. Back story: very large site and I'm dealing with thousands of pages that could/should/need to be redirected. My issue is incredibly similar to what Rand mentioned way back in a post from 2009: Are 404 Pages Always Bad for SEO? We've also decided to let these pages 404 and monitor for anything that needs an apache redirect. Tool mentioned above was tech's idea to give me "the power" to manage redirects. What do you think?

Will this affect the local SEO listings in Google?
So, I'm trying to list the same exact address across all local listings for a client. How "exact" do they all need to match in order for them to be optimized for the 7-pack listings? Here is an example of what I'm dealing with... 999 Cherry Ln #1 Dallas, TX 75238 - Address on Google Plus page 999 Cherry Ln Ste 1, Dallas, TX 75238 - Address on every other business listing Is this close enough or is this inconsistency really hurting this client?

Hi Mozzers I am working with a client who currently has 2 wordpress installations on their site - one is in the root domain and one is in a subdirectory /hub which is where the majority of their content is. They want to move all of their content over from the /hub directory into the root installation. Any ideas of the most SEO friendly way to do this? Thanks for any suggestions.

Sub Domain SEO
I am thinking to Add Sub Domains to get better rankings for Local Searches. So I will develop City Specific Sites with Specific Language. For Example qatar.wisnetsol.com. IT will be in Arabic. If my Good standing and Ranking on Google for wisnetsol.com will help my subdomain to rank better? if we setup wisnetsol.com/qatar, how it can target Qatar in Google Webmaster tools? Will links for qatar.wisnetsol.com and wisnetsol.com are seprate? What do you think about this strategy? Is it good or bad?
