How does Google sort multiple websites in one GWT account?
-
Today I noticed one of our sub-domains listed in our Google Webmaster Tools Account moved from the 6th position to the 2nd position.
Is there a reason for this (perhaps urls/sites listed at the top require the most attention)?
-
All 14 sites listed in my Google Webmaster Tools accounts always appear sorted alphabetically even though it is set to "By Site Health" and the only time one drops to the bottom is when there are messages, access issues, etc.
-
You know, this is a good question and one that has been plaguing me.
While I am not under any false illusions of GWT being any sort of authority or source for anything other than sitemaps and notifications, I still wonder what's happening here. It says it is sorted "By Site Health." That makes me wonder what's up and grabs my attention. I have several domains listed in mine and (what I consider to be) my healthiest site by far is listed at the bottom.. Which means either the unhealthy sites go first or this is all mixed up. I lean towards the latter.
Still I would like to know what the heck...

Strange landing page in Google Analytics
Hello MOZ Community, The website in question is https://x-y.com/ When i looked at the landing pages report in GA , x-y.com is appended at the end of every URL like this. https://x-y.com/x-y.com When i open the above URL in GA interface, it shows page not found. This is obvious as there is no such URL.

Google Webmaster Preferred Domain Settings Help
I was recently running my SEO Moz report for my domain and saw a drastic drop in page rankings on the report. After some trouble shooting, I checked my Google Webmaster Tools and saw the "Preferred Domain for my Site has changed" the last week in which I saw the drastic drop. Under the "preferred domain" area, I have it set to www.marware.com but on most of the links to my site, it reads www.marware.com/ . We also have http://marware.com , but am not sure if this carries any relevance as the preferred domain is set for www.marware.com . Does the "/" make a difference in the "Preferred Domain" section? If so, how do I update it? Is there a way to confirm it is set up correctly? In the photo attached, what does "Linked Property" "Analytics Web Property" and "Associated Webmaster Tools Site" mean? Thanks in advance! T5tSCxm

If I am changing my domain for my website and want to keep using the same Google Analytics account to keep the data from the old domain. How should I proceed?
If I am changing my domain for my website and want to keep using the same Google Analytics account to keep the data from the old domain. How should I proceed? Do I have to start a new Google Analytics account for the new domain? If so how do I keep the old data? Or can I use the same GA account? Thank you.

Has anyone ever successfully managed to have a deleted GA profile restored? One of our client's profiles was deleted accidentally. I know the official line is it can't be restored, but...

Google Places Over Reporting Directions Requests to a Business
I posted a screenshot of a client's Google Places profile reporting strange statistics for driving/direction requests to my website. The post is here: http://www.hoodwebmanagement.com/2054/weird-google-places-statistics/. Full info is there but I have attached a screenshot here as well. I'm wondering if anyone has seen this error with another local business - especially a local business that shares its exact address with another business, since I think that is the cause. weird-google-places-statistics.png?d407e3 weird-google-places-statistics.png?d407e3

Does Google Analytics use your data against you?
I couldn't find this question answered anywhere in Q&A, so I apologize if it's a duplicate of another post. I heard, about a year ago on either Web Pro World, or Warrior Forum that Google uses your visitor data in your Google Analytic account to rank your site. Someone said that when they took out the Google code, their site went from the third to the first page within 48 hours. That was then verified over the next couple of weeks by others. Their thought was that regardless of the optimized page and incoming link, if the site wasn't getting visitors, then it would be penalized. Since Google has the data, they would be able to use it. I then started using another, paid, solution - getclicky.com. While I like clicky, there is some info Google has that clicky doesn't, everyone integrates with Google analytics - like SEOmoz, and I'm paying a monthly fee. Now that I'm a part of a community of experts, what do you think? Have you noticed Google ranking you based on your analytics data? Has anyone experienced this, or heard about it before? Because I'd like to go back to using Google analytics. Thanks!
