On site SEO review please
-
I'd appreciate it its anyone could take the time to review my on site SEO and suggest improvements. it's an adult dating site at http://www.local-sex-search. All pages can be found at http://www.local-sex-search.com/sitemap
-
Thanks for the replies guys. I have Moz Pro and all my pages are grade A for on site seo. Therefore I'm really looking for perspectives from industry professionals as to how the one site SEO could be further improved outside of Moz tools suggestions.

I talked to Danny Dover briefly at MozCon about his experiences with SEO and adult content. It's interesting because people who like certain "pages" on those sites won't necessarily link to them or share them with friends the same way they would other content...
I'd search "dover + adult seo" or something to that effect and see if you can find anything he's written on the subject. He's a smart dude.

Although I agree with Jesse, it's worth swatting up a bit before you splash out on Mox Pro.
Start by perform your own SEO audit - this post really explains how to do that in a lot of detail - http://moz.com/blog/how-to-perform-the-worlds-greatest-seo-audit
Or, if you've got plenty of time on your hands, read this http://www.seerinteractive.com/blog/craziest-internet-marketing-audit-checklist-on-the-interwebz and also use Annie Cushing's free workbook (take a copy) http://bit.ly/tools-galore
Hope that helps

I was just about to post the same as Jesse. Get Moz Pro and you'll get a whole bunch of data for all pages, errors, duplicate content, warnings, can do keyword ranking, etc, etc... Definitely worth the investment.

Uhh... Good luck with that.
Isn't that what Moz Pro is for?

Product Descriptions (SEO)
So I would like a few opinions. How long should a product description be? Enough to get the point across? 100 words? 800 words? Over detailed? Any advice would be appreciated.

Optimising for multi sites selling same products
Hi Everyone I work for a company that sell aluminium joinery under 3 brands which are, ostensibly, competitors. With regards to optimising the websites, for keywords, should I be trying to optimise them for the same keywords, or should I use different keyword variations of each?

Do Blog Tags affect SEO at all anymore?
We're trying to standardize the use of tags on our site amongst writers/editors, and I'm trying to come up a list of tags they can choose from to tag posts with - and telling them to use no more than 10 (absolute maximum) per post. We are also in the process of migrating to a new CMS, and have 8 defined categories that will all have their own landing page within our "News" section. TLDR: Do blog tags have any impact on SEO anymore? Are they solely meant to help users find articles related on popular topics, or does creating a tag for a popular topic help to improve organic visibility? Full Question: With the tag standardization, I want to make sure we're creating the most useful and effective tags; and the UX/SEO sides of my brain are conflicted. To my understanding, creating a tag about a high volume topic in an industry helps establish the website's relevance to Google/other search engines about that topic and improves overall relevance; but the tag feed page (ex: http://freshome.com/tag/home-protection/) isn't really meant for organic search visibility. So my other question is, is it worth it to noindex the tag pages in the robots.txt? Will that affect any benefit to increased relevance for Google (if there is any)? I'm interested to hear others' thoughts and suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Acquired Old, Bad Content Site That Ranks Great. Redirect to Content on My Site?
Hello. my company acquired another website. This website is very old, the content within is decent at best, but still manages to rank very well for valuable phrases. Currently, we're leaving the entire site active on its own for its brand, but i'd like to at least redirect some of the content back to our main website. I can't justify spending the time to create improved content on that site and not our main site though. What would be the best practice here? 1. Cross-domain canonical - and build the new content on our main website? 2. 301 Redirect Old Article to New Location containing better article 3. Leave the content where it is - you won't be able to transfer the ranking across domain. Thanks for your input.

On-Site Optimization Issue!
Hello, I have some confusion about how to structure my site to better in on-site optimization. I am using WordPress. Therefore, there are many things that I need to consider as following: Static Page for homepage OR Latest posts? Archive, Category, Author, Attachment and Tag pages - To put meta robots (no index, follow) or not to prevent duplication? If I use Static Page for homepage, do I need to add meta robots (no index, follow) to POINT 2 above or not? If I use Latest Posts for homepage, do I need to add meta robots (no index, follow) to POINT 2 above or not? To have breadcrumb or not? To have recent posts, comment, tag clouds or popular posts/comments widget or not? To have social sharing icons and related posts in single post or not? If you don't mind adding more tips that I don't know it would be very great! Thanks!
