Tips to Get People to Share User Reviews Pages?
-
I'd like to know if you have some ideas / advice on how to get people to share or link to user reviews pages? I mean unlike blog posts, it's more difficult to promote this kind of content.
Here's an example: http://www.webhostinghero.com/reviews/inmotion-hosting/
I mean I just can't post links to the review pages on social networks, forums, whatever, that would be just plain spammy.
-
Here's a quick couple of ideas to help jog your thinking:
- An off-site article/blog post for a web design community that discusses examples of various looks for "review pages"
- An off-site article/blog post on a humor or other hosting review site that points out some of "The funniest hosting reviews ever written"
- An off-site article/blog post on a career site about how a faceless systems admin decided to step up into the limelight and interact publicly with his customers online by becoming a web host.
-
I would start by sharing them yourself. Sounds spammy doesn't it? You can do it in a way that is not spammy though, let me tell ya how.
I am familiar with inmotion, I don't really care for them either, but at the same time I am a moderator for an e-commerce package called Prestashop. All the time people are asking for hosting recommendations, so this would be helpful to those people. The great part is, Prestashop has two hosting partners that they recommend, A2 and Inmotion. They have deals worked out with both of those companies, check here http://www.prestashop.com/en/industry-partners (because of ajax, I cannot directly link you, but click webhosting partners)
This leads me to what I would do if I were you, I would troll the boards and look for people wanting recommendations, post a short message about inmotion and a link to the reviews. In the case of Prestashop I know with almost 100% certainty that it would not get flagged as spam since you are promoting a partner.
Most hosting companies have partnerships with other companies, use that and exploit it. Once you start posting the reviews, it will be more viable for other people to start posting them as well.

What's the best way to go about making Duplicate Content Pages on my domain for affiliates?
Hello, I would like to make a bunch of duplicate pages of my site's Home Page, that way affiliates of mine can have a page of their own with links specialized to themselves littered throughout the page. What's the best practice going about this without jeopardizing domain authority from tons of duplicate content signals firing off?

Advise about Social Sharing between two loosely affiliated website - (retweets/fb cross sharing)
So basically, I have two websites. One being my Primary website and another which is very Niche/Seasonal. Now the Niche website received a penalty, and was later re-included however google traffic has been extremely limited since being reindexed. (bing never had a problem, still top ranked) I don't directly link back and forth between the two websites because its not worth hurting my primary websites ranking. I'm sure google knows I own both anyway, as they are on the same webmaster tools but the Niche site was kicked for spammy link building & its been an endless process removing them all. Anyway, with that being my concern. Would it be acceptable to cross share facebook posts, retweet and do things like that on occasion? My primary reason for asking is because the Niche website has a very large social following, so I would like to share post/tweets from my Primary site when its relevant and vice versa. Appreciate any suggestions/comments. Thanks!

Banner Ads Without Getting Penalised?
Hi All, Basically I have 3-4 Biggish video autoblogs that I keep tabs on and they pull videos on my niche and are actually decent quality websites they are just autoblogs as they automatically get the youtube videos. The issue is that I want to advertise my brandnew site on them as I'm selling a service in the same niche. I know that nofollow will not pass rank and should be safe but what is the absolute safest way to put banner advertisements on these sites without being penalised? I'm wanting the advertisements for advertisement purposes not link building. I'm worried about getting 10k+ links from the same domain x4 and google not only noticing that but linking the fact I own all 5 sites.. Any help would be great. Thanks

How many characters will Google read in a header space on a page?
We heard that Google will read about 2,000 characters in a page header. We are using DoubleClick and need to insert more than 2,000 characters in each page header. Any insight?! Thanks!

Two Tier Internet, Bad Blogs and One page Affiliate Sites
Hi, I start a post on a popular internet marketing forum about how bad blogs - (i.e. the ones with one posts of over optimise spun garbage) - and the one page affiliate sites - trying to sell you something... (you know the ones) - were REALLY starting to annoy me and if/when something would be done by ISP's or Anyone really. Obviously google is aware of the issue with trying to push Google Plus to crowd source better search results. But with more and more sites popping up telling people how they can make money from having a niche website/page with adwords on it aren't we fast moving to a two tier internet.... How websites/pages exist purely to game search engines.... and will they ever disappear.... Sorry mini rant..... might even get some ideas for a blog post 😛 (not on a bad blog before anyone says anything)

Effectiveness of Landing Page Goal
Let's say you have a landing page that aims to get people to click on an affiliate offer. Now to measure the effectiveness of that landing page in Google Analytics, We would bring up the page stats, like the image attached. Would I be right in assuming the people clicking on my affiliate link (and leaving my site) would be included in the "% Exit" stat. Of course this figure also includes those that either close their browsers, or typed something in the address bar. ... And the "Bounce Rate" are those that clicked on the Back button on their browser. Is that right? 55Qxx.png

Tips for a tough market: Gambling
Yes, that's what I'm working on now. As you might already know / have guessed, gambling is not a really well regarded source of enterntainment amongst... well, amongst 90% of the world popppulitaion, yet there is a huge market for both online casinos and affiliate sites. I believe it to be the second biggest internet market after porn, so, yes, we live in a weird world. Honest linkbuilding is almost impossible, there's really few people that would dare to post an entry on their reputated blog of the "check this out, my friend's new casino site" kind, neither placing on their site a nicely anchored back-link. We also do CMS web-development, but, of course, not a single client has accepted to keep a link to our casino site in their footer. We have tried some link-baiting technics with interesting content by sending it to news aggregators, but most of the feedback we get (after the users read our url) is of the: "gonna downvote the h*** out of you lousy spammer!" kind. Our site doesn't look dodgy at all, we intended to get rid of the sordid look that most affiliate sites sport, and I think that we succeded. (Here it is, if you guys wanna take a look http://www.ilovecasino.es/ ). So here we are, out in the cold, developing our own "satellite sites", working hard in the seo for all of our other sites, giving away free drupal templates that carry an uncloacked link to us in the footer... all the classics. So, any nice feedback on how to get sweet white-hat links in such a complicated market will be strongly appreciated. Hope you can pardon both my rather long question and pretty poor english 🙂
