Offshore SEO Providers - Recommendation?
-
Hi Folks
Has anyone had a very good experience with an offshore SEO provider who they would be happy to share? I am looking for a professional offshore firm to manage a 100 Long Tail key word campaign. Social Media, facebook campaign experience a bonus.
Kind Thanks, Justin

Kind Thanks Guys, this is CLEAR.

Yes ... brought it all in house to ensure that we stayed 100% whitehat. Spent A LOT of time removing and disavowing spammy links. Once that was completed, rankings IMMEDIATELY rose causing our quality content to actually be seen by people. Our content was high quality and unique which resulted in it immediately being linked to by big sites like CNN, Fortune, WSJ, etc which caused 1,000 little niche sites to link to it as well which resulted in an even bigger boost. When everything went bad, it went bad quickly ... and when everything went right, it shot up like a rocket. They key, as everyone else says, seems to be to provide well structured quality content and the rankings will take care of themselves.
Most important thing I have learned so far: Provide quality content that is well structured according to the principles found here on Moz and your rankings and backlinks will take care of themselves. If I had done that from the beginning when I started in March, my sites would be 3 to 4 times more successful than they are now. All it takes is a week or two to read and watch EVERYTHING that this site has to offer ...

What was your solution? Did you end up bringing everything in house to recover? We had to do that in the backlinking area and for original written content in order to make a comeback. It is still touch and go to this day though as we're still in recovery mode too.

I hired an offshore seo provider from India about 6 months ago ... within 30 days, my traffic dropped by 90%. It took me four months to recover ... just sayin'

+1 to Chris. I've had nothing but low value, spammy links. In fact many of those spammy links were lost with the latest Google update and caused our rankings to drop. To find someone to manage that many different campaign keywords is going to be tough, especially over seas. I find that they do not have access to the same resources like we have here at MOZ.
In fact most of the time I ended up providing the exact instructions for what I wanted to do. Hopefully it doesn't come across poorly, but there seemed to be no independent thinking into the backlinking strategy either. I mean there were no links built from industry leaders, trusted manufacturers, guest blogging opportunities, etc. All just directory postings and profile builds on random websites. And for a regional service provider (US based company), I feel that links built on websites outside of the US are not even relevant.
In my opinion the person you are looking for may need to be an in-house employee. You can still use contractors to help on other parts of your project. But especially something like social media engagement, you may want to shy away from over seas developers.
All that being said and done - if it works, it works. Best of luck in finding that special person - good help is hard to find!

I'm afraid I do not, however I've found many people have trouble with off shore due to not understanding (or knowing) about the regional impact of links (amongst other things) and on top you will find you get very spammy links, in the long term its not worth it.
Having said that you may find some one here knows a good company (can't put everyone under the same banner can you!)
I recommend researching whoever you think about and carefully weight up the risk involved you can muck up SEO very quickly and easily and it can take a long time to recover from one mistake
Best of luck,.

Facebook won't spend my ad budget. Any recommendations?
What do you do when Facebook won't spend your ad budget, no matter what you do or how high you bid? We've tested a large audience (2.2 million reach) under a single ad set versus many smaller ad sets with tighter targeting (50-150k reach). We've tested auto bidding versus manual bidding with bids as high as 1000% higher than Facebook's recommended bid. We've tested many versions of creative with and without text overlay and our relevance scores are high. Nothing seems to work. Our Facebook rep and Facebook technical support keep recommending to stay with one ad set and one ad, but that's not spending either. Most days we are getting less than 20% budget utilization. Has anyone experienced this situation before? Does anyone have any recommendations?

Is there a functional difference between the "google +1" button and the "G+"? Has there been any conclusive research done regarding their affect on SEO?
Google used to offer a +1 button but that seems to have gone away in favor of the new google +1 button or the G+ buttons. I am trying to determine which button I should add to pages on our site but since I am most importantly doing it for SEO impact, i want to make sure I add the correct button...if it matters. Thanks

How relevant is social bookmarking for SEO today?
I've been doing SEO for a little over 4 years. I've never used sites like Digg, Stumbleupon, Reddit, etc. either personally or on behalf of my clients. This past week I had a discussion with another SEO who asked what I'm doing for my clients with regard to social bookmarking. I responded that I'm really not doing anything and they were shocked. I took a pretty good verbal beating over it. She was borderline offended. I have always been able to deliver solid results for my clients without any type of social bookmarking, so I struggle to see the need, but am surprised at how shocked this other SEO was that I don't do it. How beneficial is it and am I really missing out?

Myth or Fact: Social Media Dashboards Bad for SEO?
I want to start using HootSuite to pre-schedule Facebook/Twitter updates, but am plagued by nagging concerns because I have heard that HootSuite may impact SEO in a negative way. Is this truth or bull? If it i true, how so, specifically? And can anything be done to mitigate the negative SEO factors? Also, does anyone prefer another dashboard over HootSuite? Thanks in advance for your inputs!

SEO with facebook and twitter
Hi all, It's become more apparent to us all going forward after the panda update that social signals are becoming more and more important in regards to SERPS. Our website is www.capitalalist.com and is gaining a decent amount of traffic from Twitter. www.capitalalist.com/twitter and we have managed to work out what works for us on twitter and what doesnt allowing us to interact with our followers more and more. The problem is facebook. Direct marketing doesn't work here. Our page is www.facebook.com/capitalalist but we are struggling to get any traffic or interaction with our friends. Any advice on how to market properly for facebook for seo purposes? Thanks in advance.

Social Media Plugins advice - Google+ Pages - what is best for SEO?
I'm seeking some social media plugin advice, in relation to SEO. This may not be possible to answer yet, or ever? But it could be worth a discussion. As far as i can see, there are two main forms of plugins (taking facebook as an example): 1 that directly connects a user to your brand page on said platform (eg like us on facebook) 1 that allows a user to 'like', 'share', 'recommend' the page that you are on as a sign of respect and/or sharing content For a home page, I am confused as to which one to use, without filling out the whole page with plugins. One objective is to increase fan numbers, the other is to increase content sharing, and possibly SEO? I've noticed that Google has been returning some personalised results based on mine, or my google+ connections +1's. So to the question... Do you think having more fans on the new Google Pages for business accounts will improve SEO to the same, if not higher weighting than a +1 does? and therefore is it more important to get more brand page followers, or +1's of the homepage?

How much power does using keywords on Facebook and Twitter have from an SEO perspective?
Hi all, When we add a new Christmas party package onto our website I always tweet about it with a link to the party page, utilizing a tweet such as : "New Manchester Christmas parties", followed by the link. How much power (if any) does utilizing the key phrase Manchester Christmas parties have on SEO for that page? Bearing in mind the link is shortened and doesn't mention the keywords anywhere in it, they are only present in the tweet itself. Similarly, on our company Facebook page I always post a link with a title such as "check out our new Manchester Christmas parties". Does this have much SEO benefit for the page I'm directing the link to? Many thanks!!
