Best Practice For Company/Client Logo Endorsement

I came across the following article and somewhat agree with the authors summary.
I find sliders a distraction to B2B users and overall offers no SEO benefits.Scenario
As a service provider, over time I have worked with many high profile blue chip comnpanies. As part of my site redesign, I'm looking to show users my client achievements.My initial thoughts are to carry out the following:
On the home page I'm looking to incorporate some high profile company logos (similar to http://www.semrush.com) with a hyperlink "more customers" to the right of logo caption. The link will take the user to a dedicated page (www.mydomain.co.uk/customer) showing a comprehensive list of company logos.
Questions
#1 Is the above practice good or bad.
#2 Is there a better way to achieve the aboveAny other practical advise on user experience, social engagement, website speed, etc would be much appreciated.

As Mike pointed out, this is pretty subjective and I think you can pretty easily make either argument. I think I'd tend to avoid the slider as it takes up a lot of space, but that's just an opinion. If you really want to find out if one is better than the other for conversion, test it using software such as optimizely! Otherwise, I'd go with your gut.
To answer your questions:
1. I think the practice you described sounds good, should help establish credibility and trust, right?
2. Using the SEM Rush example, I might add a quote from one of the above clients for added credibility. On your /clients page, I'd probably do a couple things: I would add quotes/testimonials for each logo if possible - it's one thing to work with someone, but it means a lot more if you have a quote from them. Second, I'd look at doing case studies if possible.
As I mentioned earlier, you should really test everything. Everyone has an opinion about CRO that's based on their experience but every vertical, niche, and company is different as are their customers so don't just take someone else's word for it. Test everything!

I disagree with a lot of the points in that article. Sliders/Carousels can be done well. In many cases, I don't think brands are trying to rank for their homepage for anything other than their brand name - therefore, this strategy is serving its purpose.
IBM uses this strategy and is successful. SAP uses this strategy and is successful. And even Apple uses this strategy and is successful (I think I might have just blown a few minds with this bomb).
To your questions:

I think showing a representative sample of the logos for the companies you help is fine. Whether it is just 5 and they click a link to go to the dedicated page OR if you use a mini slider/carousel to show the wide range of companies on the homepage.

You could consider using a slider of sorts that would have a high profile company logo and a quote from someone at that company that is saying how awesome your services are... if you could get like 5 or so quotes/testimonials like that... that would be pretty awesome - in my opinion.
When done correctly, any of the text you use should be able to be indexed by crawlers, so no FLASH and no crazy difficult javascript.
If you think this is a differentiator and will help people select you as their service provider, then this is a great idea. If you are just looking to make you site look cool, you could just have a page accessible from your navigation that would like to a comprehensive list of company logos.

What's the best way to A/B test new version of your website having different URL structure?
Hi Mozzers, Hope you're doing good. Well, we have a website, up and running for a decent tenure with millions of pages indexed in search engines. We're planning to go live with a new version of it i.e a new experience for our users, some changes in site architecture which includes change in URL structure for existing URLs and introduction of some new URLs as well. Now, my question is, what's the best way to do a A/B test with the new version? We can't launch it for a part of users (say, we'll make it live for 50% of the users, an remaining 50% of the users will see old/existing site only) because the URL structure is changed now and bots will get confused if they start landing on different versions. Will this work if I reduce crawl rate to ZERO during this A/B tenure? How will this impact us from SEO perspective? How will those old to new 301 URL redirects will affect our users? Have you ever faced/handled this kind of scenario? If yes, please share how you handled this along with the impact. If this is something new to you, would love to know your recommendations before taking the final call on this. Note: We're taking care of all existing URLs, properly 301 redirecting them to their newer versions but there are some new URLs which are supported only on newer version (architectural changes I mentioned above), and these URLs aren't backward compatible, can't redirect them to a valid URL on old version.

What's the best URL structure?
I'm setting up pages for my client's website and I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this. Which of the following would be best (let's say the keywords being used are "sell xgadget" "sell xgadget v1" "sell xgadget v2" "sell xgadget v3" etc.). Duplicate content on .com .au and .de/europe/en. Would it be wise to move to .com?
This is the scenario: A webstore has evolved into 7 sites in 3 shops: example.com/northamerica example.de/europe example.de/europe/en example.de/europe/fr example.de/europe/es example.de/europe /it example.com.au .com/northamerica .de/europe/en and .com.au all have mostly the same content on them (all 3 are in english). Best practices on setting up multi country Magento store
We run Magento and we're in the process of redesigning our site. We want the site to have separate storefronts for different countries, however we won't have the site language translated initially. We're thinking we'll use the Magento multi-store feature and have sites like /fr, /de /en-us, /en-au, etc. Is the best practice to use hreflang and for the non-english stores which haven't yet been translated? For example set them as, for French users: Essentially saying, the page is aimed at French people, but is in English. The separate storefronts will have things like currency and tax localised to each country and will gradually be getting translated, especially the more generic stuff like "Add to Cart", "Checkout" etc. Or, should it be targeted at French language and country, despite not all being translated into French? Or is there a better way to do this?

.htaccess question/opinion/advice needed
Hello, I am trying to achieve 3 different things on my .htaccess I just want to make sure I am doing it the right or best way because I don't have much experience working on this kind of files. I am trying to: a) Redirect www.mysite.com/index.html to www.mysite.com so I don't get a duplicate content/tag error. b) Redirect mysite.com to www.mysite.com c) Get rid of the file extensions; www.mysite.com/stuff.html to www.mysite.com/stuff This is the code that I'm currently using and it seems to work fine, however I would like someone with experience to take a look so I can avoid internal server errors and other kinds of issues. How do I use old websites to best effect?
I own a couple of old sites with DA of 15 and 17 which don't really rank for anything, as well as my main site which as DA of 29. Can I forward these domains to my main site to increase the DA of my main site. Alternatively is there any other way of making use of these sites?
