Google disavow tool ( how long does it take ? )
-
Hello,
I disavowed some of my links about three months but still see them in my link profile, using OSE?
How long does it take for Google to make them nofollow.
Thanks
-
is any body tell me the how we know we are improving
my spam score is 5
so i created a disavow file and upload on google. but i don't know what would be the next step
-
I've seen this video before, my website was effected by Penguin 2.0 (not manual penalty) while Google says nofollow links won't hurt but it seems otherwise.
-
Then I believe you may have to wait a month or so for the next refresh to see any major improvement.
-
It was a penguin penalty
-
There is a good video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSEqypgIJME
Matt Cutts basically says nofollow links won't hurt, but if you spam lots then they may make a manual penalty. Would be worth checking webmaster tools to see if this is the case, otherwise I doubt you needed to worry.
-
Thanks Keri,
Most of my links that i disavowed are blog comments and they are all nofollow links
so do nofollow links hurt my website?
Thanks
-
Most of the links that i submitted are nofollow links so maybe thats the case since Google
ignores them from I've read.

Disavowing links to Google isn't going to affect your OSE report. Moz doesn't have a way of seeing what you've told Google, so we have no way to know which links you've disavowed.
I believe it's internally Google will treat those links as nofollow, but they cannot physically modify the code on the linking site, so those links won't be marked nofollow for OSE and other crawlers.
I hope this helps some?

I was under the impression that if you are hit with say penguin penalty then you would also have to wait until the next refresh. Also if you have a manual penalty you will have to make a reconsideration request i believe.
If I am wrong, hopefully someone else can chime in.

From previous experience and from what I've read, it is usually in affect within days. At most 2 weeks.

Homepage Not Ranking in Google - How long do old (not current) bad SEO practices exert influence?
I'm trying to get to the bottom of a problem I have with the Google ranking for mauiactivities.com - it's far below what I would hope for. My research so far has uncovered the following, and any advice on where to go from here would be appreciated. _Edit:_No problems with Bing or Yahoo - the site is #1 for primary key word 'maui activities' 1. Running a site:http://www.mauiactivities.com search in Google reveals that the homepage doesn't rank. At all. I looked through the 17 pages of results and can't spot it. Edit: I have now, after fresh checks after submitting the homepage through Search Console, found it at #1 - still, the following applies ... 2. I've found that the domain (before it was purchased by my client in 2011) had some bad inbound links, specifically from scubamaui.com (no longer active). The links where white, on a white background. This web archive snapshot will reveal all. 3. Those bad links were 'cleaned up' (i.e. they don't show in the web archive) from 2014, and as mentioned above, the website is now 'down'. 4. Search Console doesn't have a manual penalty. 5. When I search for 'tropical divers maui' in Google I find www.mauiactivities.com is the 4th result. To me, this indicates a current relationship with the dead site (Tropical Divers Maui). No other term comes close to ranking to high for the homepage. So, to summarise - can the old, dead Tropical Divers Maui website still be affecting the Google ranking, and what would you suggest I do next?

Google Published Date - Does Google Lie?
Here's the scenario. I create a page called "ABC" and it gets published and found by Google lets say on the 13th of April. on the 15th (or 14th) i decide to update the URL, page Title, and content. (Redirect old URL to new URL as well) Will Google still show this page as being published on the 13th? or would it update the publish date according to the new URL? Google Places Reviews
Has anyone had any delays on Google+ reviews to show up? We have multiple clients who have not received a new review in over two months. These are good accounts with good Zagat scores with 15+ good reviews from real customers. Our clients have asked their clients and have confirmed that there has been reviews left recently. However no new reviews have shown up in the past 60+ days.

Change in how Google displays SERPs
Hi All, Recently our SERPs have changed in Google results to show product prices from our pages rather than the meta description. This just started to happen in November with no change (that we know of) on our side. I have attached a from and to SERP image if that helps. Does any one have any ideas as its starting to effect our rankings? Thanks, Tony. Tkeou,6jg6Q Tkeou,6jg6Q#1

Here's a question, if you put the date in your url (often a wordpress format) would that be seen by Google now as 'fresh' content? - part of their new update.

Google Off/On Tags
I came across this article about telling google not to crawl a portion of a webpage, but I never hear anyone in the SEO community talk about them. http://perishablepress.com/press/2009/08/23/tell-google-to-not-index-certain-parts-of-your-page/ Does anyone use these and find them to be effective? If not, how do you suggest noindexing/canonicalizing a portion of a page to avoid duplicate content that shows up on multiple pages?

Having some weird crawl issues in Google Webmaster Tools
I am having a large amount of errors in the not found section that are linked to old urls that haven't been used for 4 years. Some of the ulrs being linked to are not even in the structure that we used to use for urls. Never the less Google is saying they are now 404ing and there are hundreds of them. I know the best way to attack this is to 301 them, but I was wondering why all of these errors would be popping up. I cant find anything in the google index searching for the link in "" and in webmaster tools it shows unavailable as where these are being linked to from. Any help would be awesome!
