No Keyword in URL, but it is there
-
Hi,friends. I have grade A on all pages but system shows like no keyword in url, but it is there.
for example i have Latvian keyword: bīstamo kravu pārvadājumi (with Latvian characters like Ū, Ā)
I have url with exact keyword in it: http://vervo.lv/lv/kravu-parvadajumi/transports/bistamo-kravu-parvadajumi
So why moz dont see that keyword, it does not understand special characters?
-
As Dan has suggested, you may be best to contact Moz support about this, but it's not really a case of Moz not understanding the characters but the characters being different.
For example, the letter ā is not the same as a
I am not an expert at this but:
ā would encode to this in a URL: %26%23257%3B whereas a would encode to this: a
For your keywords, bīstamo-kravu-pārvadājumi would encode to this: b%26%23299%3Bstamo-kravu-p%26%23257%3Brvad%26%23257%3Bjumi and not this: bistamo-kravu-parvadajumi
It might be worth trying b%26%23299%3Bstamo-kravu-p%26%23257%3Brvad%26%23257%3Bjumi as the URL rather than bistamo-kravu-parvadajumi and then re-testing in Moz.

it certainly would, must be hard for people with different characters in their alphabet. However i think if your otherwise scoring a B then you know that really you have scored an A etc etc
-
It would be nice if moz.com tools could understand these characters

Hi Līva
Yes, the reason the page grader shows no keyword in the URL is because of the differences in the characters used in the URL and the actual keyword you are grading it for.

i would guess that yes it is because of the Latvian characters, if you send Moz a support request they will be able to confirm this for you
All Best

How can a page have high Google/ organic traffic but show no ranking keywords in Moz?
We have a page on our website with a higher than average number of pageviews, 85% of which came from Google organic search. When I research this page by entering the URL into the "exact page" keyword research tool, Moz says it has no ranking keywords. How can a page be earning organic traffic without ranking for any keywords?

Only One Canonical URL Tag
HI, I'm an SEO novice - company owner with no money so doing it all myself with help from my web designer using wordpress. Ive just completed some seo and done the moz page scoring analysis for optimisation and gained 92% - however - there is one outstanding issue on canonical url tags - i.e. recommened fix = The canonical URL tag is intended to refer duplicate pages to a single canonical URL. To ensure the search engines properly parse the canonical source, your page should use only one version of this tag in the header. See Canonical URL Tag - the Most Important Advancement in SEO Practices Since Sitemaps Ive gone through the page code and can see I have 2 rel=canonical references - am I able to simply delete one - how do I do this if its been created by the yoast/wordpress plug-in? Many thanks in advance for any help!

What is a Good Keyword Volume Score?
Hi All! Continuing my series of discussions about the various keyword scores we use here at Moz (previously: Keyword Difficulty & Keyword Opportunity)... Let's move on to Volume. Volume in Moz's tools is expressed in a range, e.g. Bartending Certification has volume of 201-500. These ranges correspond to data we have suggesting that in an average month, that keyword is searched for a minimum of X to a maximum of Y (where X-Y is the volume range). We use clickstream data as well as data from Google AdWords and then some PPC AdWords campaigns we run and have access to when we build the models for our volume data. As such, we've got very high confidence in these numbers -- 95%+ of the time, a given keyword's monthly search volume on Google will fall inside that range. If you want to see all the nitty gritty details, check out Russ Jones post on Moz's Keyword Volume and how we calculate it. As far as a "good" volume score -- higher is usually better, as it means more demand, but lots of keywords with low volume scores can also add up to strong traffic when combined, and they may be more relevant. Capturing exactly the audience you want that also wants you is what SEO is all about. p.s. When Keyword Explorer or Moz Pro gives you a "no data" or "unknown" volume number, it may just mean we haven't collected information from our clickstream providers or AdWords crawls, not that the keyword has no volume (though it sometimes means that, too, we just don't know yet). One way to verify - see if Google Suggest autofills it in when you type in the search box. If it does, that's usually a sign there's at least some volume (even if it's only a few searches a month).

"Keywords Showing" total doesn't match "Tracked Keywords" total
My "Tracked Keywords" total under "Add & Manage Keywords" does not match the total for "Keywords Showing" on the main "Rankings" tab. Why is there a difference? For example, I have 453 tracked keywords attached to my campaign, but under the "Tracked Keywords Overview," there are only 254 listed. I'm sure there's a simple explanation but I can't find it anywhere!

Did Moz recently change how it calculates keyword difficulty?
Did the keyword tool recently change? What is Grepwords? Why do all my long-tail phrases show as "not available?" Just wondering...

Clarify "broad keyword usage in page title"
Hello Page grader has two different grades for page title that I want clarification on. There is "Broad Keyword Usage in Page Title" and "Exact Keyword Usage in Page Title". Googling around about and searching here I have found that "broad" seems to mean the keywords should be used throughout the page, rather than just in the title and header. Which makes sense as this is a kind of check to ensure the page IS about the keywords and not something unrelated. But what is meant by "broad" usage in the page title? This refers specifically to the page title and not the whole document. My best guess got me to this, given the keyword "Visit London Today"; "Come and visit London today" - exact match only "London - visit today" - broad match only "Visit London the city of dreams | visit London today" - matches both That could be complete nonsense, but basically is broad usage the use of keywords scattered in the page title? Thanks.

Keyword Difficulty and SERP Analysis Full report not working?
It's been a few days now that I am having difficulties getting a Full Report on certain keywords in the "Keyword Difficulty" tool. It's been stuck on "pending..." for over 12 hours. I also noticed that some keywords are returning zero exact volume when I know 100% that it's returning 5K+ in GKP. Anyone else having the same issues?
