Tracking keywords beyond #50 in the rankings?
-
Although Moz does a great job of tracking keyword rankings within the "top 50", a lot of the time with new sites and new content we are trying to track improvement in performance way out beyond that (just trying to get into the top 50). Although Moz tells me that a keyword has moved up or down outside the top 50, without knowing the actual position it's hard to reconcile that in terms of improvement.
Is there a tool out there that will do what Moz does for the top 200?

Sorry, but you have clients and use a free tool to report keyword rankings? Is it really that good?

Hi there, you've received several responses. Did any of them answer your question? If so, please mark up to three as "good answers." Thanks so much!

Out of all the rank trackers I have found it the fastest and least likely to fail when checking a large amount of keywords. Well, approx 120 any way.

Cuterank Great free version for single site!
I love the unlimited time historic graphs for ... good to show clients the "hard work done"!
I wouldnt pack it up with a huge list of keywords and serps cause as it runs in your computer and it may turn a little bit unstable and block serps.
Cheers!

Cuterank is a great ranking checker that will check up too 100 results and any amount of keywords even in their free version. The free version is limited to a single site however.

There are actually several tools that can do what you are looking for but as far as the accuracy of data is concern, mostly are paid.
There are tools like SERPS.com, Rank watch, Advanced Web Ranking and more… I agree with James about the ideal of Google Webmaster toll but expecting too much from it is again not really a very good idea!
Hope this helps.

You can track beyond 50 with tools like AWR - (Advancd Web Ranking) you may need a proxy to run it depend on the number of keywords you want to track.
If you want estimate rankings for free then you can use (Google Webmaster Tools Ranking data or SEM Rush) which will show ranking data. That been said the data from SEM Rush and from GWT will be limited and will only be taken as a estimate.

Is there a way to pull ALL rankings for a site for a set of keywords?
I'm fairly new to SEOMoz, and am looking for a way to pull all rankings for a site with the keywords I've listed, not just the top ranking. So for instance if my site ranks for the keyword "widget maker in MO" in two spots. The current rank report will only show me the top result. I know I can click on each keyword individually and see a full list of the top 50, but I'm looking for a more automated way of doing this (I'm the only SEO at my agency and time is an issue). I previously used Advanced Web Ranking and the tool would like me pull a CSV of the top 30 sites for each keyword I was tracking and then I could just search for my site and pull those results easier. Anyone know of a shortcut or report I should use? Thanks!

Rankings csv export doesn't show local rank
Is there a way to enable this in the settings somewhere? or is this simply not an available feature yet? Would be really great if there was an extra column in the report that shows local rank, as 93 of our top 100 keywords we track are all blended search results and a lot of the time this shows really inaccurate results because of this.

Alexa Ranking Sites
I found these two sites giving my competitor link juice: http://www.webnamelist.com/alexa/Alexa_186.html http://www.list-of-domains.org/alexa/Alexa_185.html I have seen these sites before and I just dont get why they are authoritative. The funny thing is I did a search for my competitors link on the page and its not showing up, is this a problem in site explorer? Why is site explorer mentioning these sites as my competitions best links when these links do not exist on their site?

Site Ranking Report
Hi guys, My site ranking report says that I've gone from being 1-20 for a variety of keywords in Google UK to not in the top 50. When I do a search myself I see that my site remains where it previously was (between 1-20). How reliable is the site ranking reporting on a weekly basis? Is it best to look at it monthly?

Keywords Best Practices for On-Page Optimization
Hi guys, we've successfully optimized our home page such that it receives a Grade A for 3 completely different, high traffic keywords. Looking forward to seeing the results! The keywords in question were identified by using the monthly searches reported from the Google Keyword Tool. For one of the keywords, the Google Keyword Tool differentiates between what I thought would be seen as being the same. For example, let's say Google reports these three keywords as high traffic keywords: tea cup

tea cups
the tea cup Using the On-Page Report Card, we get a Grade A for 'tea cup', but we get an F for the other 2 terms! I thought Google searches didn't really care about the plural form or adding the word 'the' in front. How should we interpret the result from the On-Page Report Card for the plural form of the keyword and with the word 'the' added in front? Would you track all 3 instances of the keyword independtly in your campaign, or would you just track 'tea cup'? Thanks!0 -
How do you track links over time?
I'm new to SEOmoz and I'm really enjoying the fact that I can track all my keywords in a single place and monitor the changes. Is there a way to do the same with no my links? I mean: I'm using Open Site Explorar to track my links, but I want to know my link building performance overtime. Is there a way to do this automatically with SEOmoz? In case of a negative answer, how do you track your links over time? Thanks in advance!

Quick Keyword Difficulty Question
Hello good people. Quick question about the Keyword Difficulty Tool (which is great by the way). I am wondering specifically about the "keyword difficulty score" If I were to type in "blue widget," the tool returns a diffiiculty score of 51%. "red widget" on the other had returns a score of 40%. My question is how much more difficult is the term, "blue widget" when compared to "red widget?" 20% harder? more, less? I just don't know. I'm sure the info is somewhere on the seomoz site, but I have searched high and low and cannot find it. Thanks a lot, Joe
