Gained my first quality link, was it worth 2 hours of work?
-
Hello,
I'm a newbie. I'm building a brand new site. In a niche service business, worldwide.
Today I gained my first link, I tried to reach to the highest qualify link I could identify.
I'd like to know if you think my two hours effort was worthy, or laughable. Because I can gain other 3 or 4 links from other domains working like that.I tell you where is my first link:
the top domain is in the same niche business, DA 79
My link is in a subdomain page (always in the same niche business) that has:-
20 other links (mine is the only external dofollow)
-
Domain Authority 79 /100
-
Page Authority 31 /100
-
Page Link Metrics Just-Discovered 79 in 32 Days
-
Established Links 1 Root Domain 4 Total Links
-
the homepage of the subdomain has Page Authority of 66 /100
-
Page Social Metrics 0 0 0 0 0
I'd appreciate any feedback.

1. Does your links and content match what is already on the website? It has to look natural and fit in with the theme of the website.
100% yes.
2. What are the other posts like? Do they look paid?
No, they don't.
2. Are the links followed or no-followed? Mine is one of very external few followed, in all the subdomain.
3. Are people commenting on posts?
No stil 100% sure, But I bet the'll comment soon
4. Is the website pushing your content through social channels?
Unfortunately not.
Thank you for your attention, this is a solid feedback for me.

hi,
Well done on getting your first link, it's good to see people using the right techniques in order to gain links. Looking at stats of a page is a decent gauge of the quality but I also recommend our clients to look at the website as a whole. When deciding whether your to get a link from a website consider the following;
1. Does your links and content match what is already on the website? It has to look natural and fit in with the theme of the website.
2. What are the other posts like? Do they look paid? if so then you may be submitting your content to the wrong website. Are the links followed or no-followed?
3. Are people commenting on posts? You want people to interact with your posts because that is how you attract people to your website.
4. Is the website pushing your content through social channels? Ideally you want this so your post gets maximum exposure.
If you consider these 4 things when you are looking to push your content then you should be fine. To summarise, check the website for these 4 things are you'll know how much traction your post is going to get. If it ticks 3 or 4 of these points then I'd say it was 2 hours well spent!
Good luck.

Internal Linking - Post links vs Side Bar Links behaving differently
Hi, I have a question regarding the internal linking behavior. My website is www.hindimeaning.com which is approx 3 years old. I have approx 450 posts. Now i have a widget on right sidebar "Popular posts". A widget below my posts "Related Posts". And a simple html CSS menu above the posts (I removed menu around 6 month before so currently it will not show.) I crawled my site with moz crawler (same are the result from google crawler as well) and it shows menus links as internal links. While sidebar widget "Popular posts" and "Related Posts" are not showing as internal links. If we talk theoretically what i learn till now is "every link on a page behaves as internal link". Then why the widget links are not showing as internal links. Thanks, Mahesh Kumar

Link Building - Affiliate Link Programs
I'm getting some conflicting information when researching this... I want to create the most organic link building strategy that not only gets high authority sites linking to a website, but relevant websites. I'm creating an affiliate link program where I link to partner and affiliate companies, who in turn link back to me. The question is where to put these links. I was initially thinking of putting them in the footer so they add credibility to every page, and in turn ask my affiliates to do the same thing. However; some sources say that Google no longer looks at links in the footer section. Is it true that Google doesn't count links in footer sections? And do you have any tips on creating this Affiliate Link Program?
