123 keywords for a page
-
Hey mOz fans ,
I have a site that has 130 keywords. can ı target this amount just incoperate them as Ryan discussed
Before.
-
I understand your advices, and thank you very much for them but my boss wants only a one page, I told him not to do that but he didn't listen to me.
-
I'm not sure how this could be done. Even if you succeed in doing it, the page would be very long to read, and potentially get tagged as spam. Why are you wanting to optimize them all on one page? That method doesn't make much sense.
-
A single page cannot be optimized for 130 keywords or keyword phrases.
Best practice is to aim for 1, at most 2, keyword phrases per page.
Think about it, if you want to rank in the top 10 on Google for a keyword phrase, best practice suggests you should include that phrase in the page URL, title tag, description, headers, body text, inbound links and so on. It just doesn't make sense to even try to include that many keywords or keyword phrases in all those places.
KempRuge suggests you change tactics and try to spread the wealth (so to speak) across a larger number of different pages and/or posts. It's good advice.

No apologies necessary, we've all been there. If it is possible, I have absolutely no idea how to do it. However, even if someone on here (and I hope they do) tells you how; I can't imagine it's as easy as just building out more pages. Have you considered building out more pages? Any reason you wouldn't do that instead?

As you guyz said sorry for my bad question.I've found 130 keywords for my a page. AnD I'm asking can a page optimized for 123 keywords
-
You can easily target 130 keywords on a site...you can target 10 times that much. But, your question, as Ms Duncan pointed out, is unclear. Do you want them all on one page? Or throughout your entire site?
-
Can you expand on your question a bit more? I don't understand.

Page Layout Updates and Mobile Pages with Ads
I have been trying to do some research on the Page Layout Algorithm and Top Heavy Ads and much of what I read does not mention about mobile pages as apposed to desktop. I am curious if the Page Layout updates can be effected by mobile pages as well and if there is any good articles on this subject. Also is this Algorithm been incorporated into its regular algorithm or do we still have to wait for refreshes to see the impact? Cesar

To create extra pages, or not to create extra pages?
I'm responsible for a site where we cater for all kinds of medical & legal problems. I recently conducted keyword research that shows a lot of questions being 'asked' in relation to the conditions we cater for. Naturally, I want to create content to answer these questions. We have a page for 'Cancer compensation' - the 'possible content' that answers questions won't necessarily help someone claiming compensation for cancer mistreatment, BUT someone who asks a question relating to cancer, answered in the 'possible content' may find the 'cancer compensation' page useful. SO! Do I: Add this content to the existing 'cancer compensation' page? Create individual pages of content answering each question, linking to the 'cancer compensation' page? or do I amalgamate all the answers into one heafty 'resource' page that sits elsewhere on the site? What do you think? Thanks in advance. John King

Why is my contact us page ranking higher than my home page?
Hello, It doesn't matter what keyword I put into Google (when I'm not signed in and have cleaned down my browsing history) the contact us page ranks higher than the home page. I'm not sure why this is, the home page has a higher page authority, more links and more social media shares, the website is an established one. When I have checked Google Analytics my home page gets more people landing on it than the contact us page. It looks like people are ignoring the contact us page and scrolling down until they find the home page. I'd appreciate any help or advice you might have. Thank you.

Too many page links warning... but each link has canonical back to main page? Is my page OK?
The Moz crawl warns me many of my pages have too many links, like this page http://www.webjobz.com/jobs/industry/Accounting ...... has 269 links but many of the links are like this /jobs/jobtitles/Accounting?k=&w=3&hiddenLocationID=463170&depth=2 and are used to refine search criteria.... when you click on those links they all have a canonical link back to http://www.webjobz.com/jobs/industry/Accounting Is my page being punished for this? Do I have to put "no follow" tags on every link I do not want the bots to follow and if I do so is Roger (moz bot) not going to count this as a link?

Will a on-page food/drink menu take away from my target keywords?
I am trying to rank for Chicago corporate events, so I am writing new content for a landing page. I have a description of our venue and why one should have a corporate event there, all content that is very rich in corporate event keywords. I then go on to say our drink packages and food packages. Overall, my actual keyword targeted content is 1/5 of the content and the other 4/5 is menu. At first I thought the more content the better, but now that I realize a lot fo the content is just saying different foods and alcohols I'm questioning my strategy. I'm going to do my metas and h1s and stuff with corporate event keywords. But is the menu going to get in the way of ranking for the corporate event keywords? Thanks in advance 🙂

Main Page Gone For Main Keyword
For the past 5-6 months I have consistenly ranked at positions #14-16 for snow guards on snoshield.com. The past 3 days I cannot find the home page anywhere in Google for that keyword. The only thing that has really changed over the past two months is I placed 3 guest blog posts on pretty highly trusted sites that are industry related and created links to the site using suggestions from getlisted. I've read other reports of others seeing similar things happen recently. I don't think this is a penguin thing, because I can still find the site by searching for the company name, I just can't find it when searching the keyword. I did notice that a different page on the site is now ranking in position #21 for this keyword, but this page is optimized for a different keyword phrase. Is it possible that even though the sub page is optimized for a different keyword phrase, I am cannibalizing the site?

Spammy link for each keyword
Some people believe that having a link for each keyword and a page of content for each keyword (300+ words) can help ranking for those keywords. However, the old approach of having "restaurant New York", "restaurant Buffalo", "restaurant Newark" approach has become seen as a terrible SEO practice. I don't know whether this was because it's spammy or because people usually combined it with thin content that was 95% duplicate. Which brings us to; http://hungryhouse.co.uk/ Why does such a major company have the following on the site (see the footer); Aberdeen Takeaway Birmingham Takeaway Brighton Takeaway Bristol Takeaway Cambridge Takeaway Canterbury Takeaway Cardiff Takeaway Coventry Takeaway Edinburgh Takeaway Glasgow Takeaway Leeds Takeaway Leicester Takeaway Liverpool Takeaway London Takeaway Manchester Takeaway Newcastle Takeaway Nottingham Takeaway Sheffield Takeaway Southampton Takeaway York Takeaway Indian Takeaway Chinese Takeaway Thai Takeaway Italian Takeaway Cantonese Takeaway Pizza Delivery Sushi Takeaway Kebab Takeaway Fish and Chips Sandwiches Do they know something I don't? Apostrophes in keywords
It appears that SEOmoz tools like the On-Page Report Card treat keywords differently if they have apostrophes in. So for example childrens and children's are treated as different keywords. Is this a quirk of the On-Page Report Card or does Google treat them as separate keywords?
