Is tracking code added to the end of a URL considered duplicate content
-
I have two URLs one with a tracking coded and one without.
http://www.towermarketing.net/lets-talk-ux-baby and
http://www.towermarketing.net/lets-talk-ux-baby/**#.U6ghgLEz64I **
My question is will this be considered as two separate URLs, will Google consider this as two pages with duplicate content. Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Good advice. Thanks

Very much appreciated

Most people use these pages for tracking only, and set them to no-index so Google doesnt pick them up. I'm guessing you have tracking set up to analyze the traffic and attachement rate for that article? A hashtag is genearally used to point to an anchor point on that page. You currently have two URLs with the same content.
As Oleg said, I would be sure to add a canonical link for that page.

Agree totally with what you said. One thing I would like to add, and this is just my assumption, the #. tracking system is unique to addthis. I would be willing to be some how Google keeps track of these unique tracking patterns and disregards them.

It shouldn't (its a hashtag anchor, not a new variable) but add a canonical url to the page anyways to avoid all duplicate content issues

Duplicate page content
Hi Crawl errors is showing 2 pages of duplicate content for my clients WordPress site: /news/ & /category/featured/ Yoast is installed so how best to resolve this ? i see that both pages are canonicalised to themselves so presume just need to change the canonical tag on /category/featured/ to reference /news/ ?(since news is the page with higher authority and the main page for showing this info) or is there other way in Yoast or WP to deal with this & prevent from happening again ? Cheers Dan

Is there a way to tell Google a site has duplicated content?
Hello, We are joining 4 of our sites, into 1 big portal, and the content from each site gonna be inside this portal and sold as a package. We don't wanna kill these sites we are joining at this moment, we just wanna import their content into the new site and in a few months we will be killing them. Is there a way to tell Google to not consider the content on these small sites, so the new site don't get penalised? Thanks,

What is the threshold for a page title to be considered duplicate?
We're trying to find out what percentage of words in a page title need to be the same for it to be considered duplicate? We have search results pages for each country on our site, so the only difference in the page title is the country name and they are all being flagged as duplicate, even though they are not 100% duplicate.

Do videos count as duplicate content?
If we allow users to embed our videos on their site, would that count as duplicate content? I imagine note, given that Google can't usually 'see' the content of videos, but just want to double check.

Does Google still see masked domains as duplicate content?
Older reads state the domain forwarding or masking will create duplicate content but Google has evolved quite a bit and I'm wondering if that is still the case? Not suggesting that a 301 is not the proper way to redirect something but my question is: Does Google still see masked domains as duplicate content? Is there any viable use for domain masking other than for affiliates?

Duplicate Page Content Issue
For one of our campaigns, we have 164 errors for Duplicate Page Content. We have a website where much of the same content lives in two different places on their website. The information needs to be accessible from both areas. What is the best way to tackle this problem? Is there anything that can be done so these pages are not competing against one another? If the only solution is to edit the content on one of the pages, how much of the content has to be different? Is there a certain percentage to go by? Here is an example of what I am referring to: 1.) http://www.valleyorthopedicassociates.com/services/foot-center/preventing-sprains-and-strains 2.) http://www.valleyorthopedicassociates.com/patient-resources/service/foot-and-ankle-center/preventing-sprains-and-strains
