FIFA 15 Tips
-
Howdy Mozzers,
Trying to be proactive for a keyword that is going to be popular in the future. The keyword is "FIFA 15 tips" and the page is http://orangeoctop.us/fifa15-tips/. I have tried to model the page after Moz's category pages.
Since the game has not yet been released it is difficult to have tips for the game. When the FIFA 15 game does come out, we will have tips coming in from the best gamers in the world (thought leaders), however there will be so much other media attention that we will get pushed even further down.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Looking for some outside of the box ideas for FIFA 15 tips.

Also worth mentioning that if you have connections with some pro players who have influence in this area, it would be 100% worth pushing for a link or at very least a twitter shout-out to get some interaction going,
Even if its a nofollowed link from a topic youtube channel, they are exactly the target audience you will be looking for and once you get some visits if they like your content and guides they may start sharing it with there friends/fellow players interacting and creating some buzz and traffic around your site,
I would think you may get somewhere with your connections especially if they are contributing content to your site,
Hope this helps

Hey.
Thank you so much for responding. I guess the answer really is that simple. Your comment has really changed my thoughts on the future of the resource page for FIFA 15.
So if the FIFA 15 tips page is filled with all the resources. Then I am trying to rank http://orangeoctop.us/ for the term "FIFA 15 Guide". This is where people can actually purchase the guide form the top pro gamers.
The site is sitting at ranking 24th for the term despite a shout out from Red Bull's website and multiple internal links. Any tips on how to make it start appearing for the term "FIFA 15 guide" ? Thanks again!

Hey,
Each year the highest search volume on this topic is related with the same questions (keywords combinations) :
How to do a long pass ball in fifa 20xx ? How to score from free kicks tips fifa 20xx and so on.
There are tons of resources out there - it's hard to find something new and the differences that fifa2015 will bring, like you said, they are not available at this stage. So if you want to be in shape by the time fifa 2015 hits the shelves get the best resources and present them in a nice friendly format, a "topic page" type as there is no resources like that so far for fifa fan boys (and girls of course). There are also tons of video but you need to dig for those - if you know your stuff, find those and bring them all together but don't focus too much on Google as that will follow if you do everything very user friendly. I would love to see a resource like that online and I am sure a lot other will too. Just capitalize on what's available: resources, videos and focus on the questions that people will search for related with fifa 2015...
Cheers.

Tips for optimizing website for one long term keyword
Hello, I have quite specific long term keyword (4 part keyword) for which I would like to rank as high as possible and other keywords would come automatically, I know there's lot to it how to do it properly, but is there any good tips you could help me out with? I have 4-5 different pages with the keyword related product, would it be smart to optimize them all for the one keyword or optimize just one of those pages and leave others with other information, this I believe would be important subject to decide? I know I could add the exact long term keyword since it's related to content to titles, h1 headers, alt tags , file names and url, but would it be smart to use the optimization for that exact long term keyword on all those pages or just one? This is very important subject for my business and any advice will be most highly valued. Many thanks

Top 5 tips you would give for an ecommerce blog
Hello, What are the top 5 tips or resources you would give to an ecommerce site that is starting a blog? If EGOL could share, too, that would be great. He's the best. So far we are doing: 1. Around 1000 words per blog post, but varying depending on the topic 2. New product and best product reviews for some of the posts. 3. I'm doing my best to have the writer make them best-of-the-web 4. After we've got a track record, I'll analyze the statistics to see what's working. 5. There's very little blogging in our industry Thanks!

SERP display switching between normal meta description and 15+ items
The site, www.myrtlebeach.com has been having an issue with the way it displays in search results for the keyword "Myrtle Beach hotels". It is showing as a bulleted/itemized list similar to what's mentioned in this Moz article I'll begin with a little background. When I started working with the site it would display in SERPs as: Myrtle Beach Hotels - Reviews, Deals, & Photos - MyrtleBeach.com

from $27. Located among the south end Myrtle Beach hotels, Holiday Sands ... We did not want the site showing as an itemized list with 70+ items. We wanted it to show with the meta description we provided.
Our first attempt at getting the SERP to display our normal meta description was to simply change the meta description. That didn't work. Our second thought was to use pagination to reduce the number of items on the page. A few days after we implemented pagination we saw our normal meta description displaying in the SERP. Shortly after that we saw the SERP had reverted, but this time was showing 15+ items rather than 70+. This is when began seeing the SERP display change between a normal meta description and 15+ items. In another effort to stop the 15+ items from displaying in SERPs, we added relevant blog content like "Top 10 Oceanfront hotels" and "Best Kid Friendly Hotels" to break up the hotel listings on http://www.myrtlebeach.com/hotels/. Again, our normal meta description displayed in the SERPs for the next few days, but shortly after reverted back to 15+ items. Since then we have been seeing the SERP switch between our normal meta description and 15+ items with no rhyme or reason. Because our listings are not using , I'm not really sure why the site would be displaying this way. Since I have been regularly monitoring the SERP for the keyword "Myrtle Beach hotels", myrtlebeach.com/hotels/ has ranked as high as 5 and as low as 10. I open an Incognito Window and I take screenshots almost daily. I then record how the site was displayed in the SERP and its rank. I also look at organic visits and a Value Per Entry metric I've created. (I looked at Value Per Entry to determine if someone seeing 15+ items was more apt to convert) Average Visits on days with a normal meta description - 182
Average Visits on days with itemized 15+ description - 174 Average Value Per Entry on days with a normal meta description - 131
Average Value Per Entry on days with itemized 15+ description - 120 Average Rank on days with a normal meta description - 7
Average Rank on days with itemized 15+ description - 6 This data shows that performance is better on days when the normal meta description is displayed regardless of rank. I have linked 2 screenshots for reference. The 2-6-14 screenshot shows the SERP display with 15+ items and the 2-7-14 screenshot shows the SERP display with the normal meta description we provided. My questions are:
1. How does Google determine if a site should display in SERPs with an itemized or bulleted list?
2. Is there something else I need to change on myrtlebeach.com/hotels/ to prevent it from displaying in SERPs with 15+ items? m4znToY PRdDXZf0 -
Switching domains, need tips and trick?
I currently have my sub-product hosted on a subdomain that I have, for example say it is: x.mysite.com. I plan to migrate and move this to mysite.com. I was planning to do this by having mysite.com pointing to x.mysite.com and do a 301 redirect x.mysite.com to mysite.com. Is it as simple as that? Any other consideration, tips and tricks that I should be aware of so that my SERP doesn't get messed up. Any articles or guides on this subject matter would be highly appreciated

15 Keywords but only 8 visible on the page?
Hi we launched our site in June this year built using DNN - I have just used Moz's On page Grader for several pages and whilst it shows the KW in the URL, Titles, Meta Description, ALt Tag, it also says that I have 15 KWs in the body of this particular page and yet when i eye ball the page it only shows 8. Is this because of the templated navigation of the site. ie this KW also shows in the nav structure of other pages that are listed in the left hand nav menu? If this is correct will Google think that I am stuffing my page with too many KWs? Any solutions? Thanks Ash

Same day indexing... some tips for a non blog site
Hi There's a question today about paying for Yahoo directory - I wondered if these kinds of links would help with getting indexed. We're adding about 10-20 pages of new unique content each day, but it takes google about 4 days to list it and then it only lists a few pages of that 10-20 pages, we have other older sites and blogs that are within the hour. What tips can you give me for getting at least a same day index, and a thorough one at that, so if we publish 20 pages on Thursday by the end of play Friday they're indexed? Would the Yahoo Directory help?

My job pages do not rank what so ever and are database driven and often times turn to 404 pages after the job has been filled. The job pages have to no content either. Anybody have any technical on-site recommendations for a job site I am working on especially regarding my internal pages? (Cross Country Allied.com) Any help would be much appreciated.
