Do i direct traffic to all social platforms or not?
-
Hi ...I have a brand that is very strong socially..specifically facebook and twitter and this is where we have directed all strategy and traffic. We recently wanted to establish a presence on google+ and have done so. My feeling at this point is to maintain a presence on google+ but only direct social traffic to facebook and twitter from the brands website....so we can keep the focus here aswell as the stronger community. I have noticed other brands doing something similar.....is this a good strategy or should we be directing traffic to all the platforms from the site?...bottomline should we be linking to all our social platforms from the brands website or keep it linked to the stronger platforms and just maintain a presence on the others?
thank you

Hi! I would definitely link to Google+ from your website. It just has so many benefits for SEO, that having that connection won't hurt. It doesn't need to be super prominent if the majority of your community is on FB and Twitter. But I don't think it will hurt anything by having it there. Plus, you may find that you actually do have a community on G+.
I also agree with bjgomer13 that everyone you ask will probably say something different.

thanks for that...i agree with you 100%.... the brand does not rely on a geographic location and is more global.....glad to hear you have a similar strategy except for when "places" comes into play...appreciate your insight

You could ask 5 people this question and get 5 different answers. My strategy for most of the brands that I manage is exactly what yours is with one exception: we are now linking to our Google+ pages but not prominently.
The only exception is clients who are trying to rank locally (google maps) because now that reviews on Google Places must be done with a Google+ account, and reviews are critical to ranking locally in the maps, it's necessary and logical to send users to our Google+ Places with the hope they leave a review.
In fact, there's considerably more value in a Google+ review for my Local SEO clients than say a Facebook Like or a Retweet.

Best reports for competitive social engagement insights? (Moz or not)
My client, in a large industrial sector, is trying to find or purchase good data for their industry as far as benchmarks for social engagement. While the DIY tools have social trackers, many require you to connect to the account you want to measure - so competitive research is a non-starter. What would you use to build a spreadsheet of social engagement metrics from a set of, say, 10 competitors in a niche vertical (e.g. industrial robotics?)

Social media profiles with same description - Duplicate content or reinforcing business details?
Hi, I am currently doing a Social media review and find myself wondering whether having exactly the same copy - or part thereof, on a businesses' Facebook, LinkedIn, G+, Twitter, profile(s) is likely to be viewed by SE's as a good or bad thing? Is it duplicate content and to be avoided? Or would it be viewed as a case of the business trying to ensure a consistent profile and therefore reinforcing your business details?

Automating the brainless tasks of Social Media Management
I'm talking about Scheduling Tweets Scheduling FB Updates I'm sure I'll be pointed to some good resources for the above but what I really need is a tool that allows me to sort out queries/complains/requests that I would need to pass on to my client. Something that lets me tag a comment and gathers it with complete data like user name, time, comment etc. Does something like this exist?! Similarly, something that allows you to filter words that should be treated as spam. Also, suggestions on what other "brainless" tasks of SMM should be/can be automated would be appreciated. Regards, Edit: No responses as yet! Whats up Mozzers?

Social Media Plugins advice - Google+ Pages - what is best for SEO?
I'm seeking some social media plugin advice, in relation to SEO. This may not be possible to answer yet, or ever? But it could be worth a discussion. As far as i can see, there are two main forms of plugins (taking facebook as an example): 1 that directly connects a user to your brand page on said platform (eg like us on facebook) 1 that allows a user to 'like', 'share', 'recommend' the page that you are on as a sign of respect and/or sharing content For a home page, I am confused as to which one to use, without filling out the whole page with plugins. One objective is to increase fan numbers, the other is to increase content sharing, and possibly SEO? I've noticed that Google has been returning some personalised results based on mine, or my google+ connections +1's. So to the question... Do you think having more fans on the new Google Pages for business accounts will improve SEO to the same, if not higher weighting than a +1 does? and therefore is it more important to get more brand page followers, or +1's of the homepage?
