Links Building from contractors on eLance.com
-
Hi,
I never hire somebody to create link building to point to our sites.
On eLance.com you can hire a SEO contractor to build link our your domaine.
New to SEO, is worth it to do so?
Is there things I should should be careful about?
Things I need to clarify before hiring somebody?
Things I need to confirm or ask before hiring such contractors?
Most of those ''SEO Expert'' are from India and some have perfect ratings on this site.
I have 2 eCommerce sites and we only have a average of 3 sales a day. I can't afford price companies are asking in North America. For a lot less, eLance maybe the solution for our home base business.
What is your advice on this?
Thank you
BigBlaze

I woudn't use that place it can't be possible for them to vet standards. If you click on any of those big company names it seems to take you to media coverage about freelancers not that those companies use that site.
I found your site from its name within your profile, you have no page descriptions and all your page titles are the same which is keyword cannibilization. http://www.seomoz.org/blog/how-to-solve-keyword-cannibalization
You need to get onsite as best as you can before you do offsite (e.g. link building). I would suggest that SEO moz is a good source of information to learn to be able to do it yourself if that's an option for you.
"Open Site Explorer" tool on SEOmoz finds links. The starter guide PDF is a good place to start, I got to about chapter 7 then most of what I learnt is from the search box on here for the relevant terms like "exact match domain" or "meta tags" etc.

Hi Jean,
My advice would be very careful when it comes to hiring freelancers to build links to your site. There are some excellent freelancers out there but its a case of you get what you pay for.
Link building is evolving rapidly and yesterdays tactics such as blog commenting and 2.0 links etc generally do more damage than good, if you have a small budget then the majority of overseas link builders will be using these methods.
If you do decide to go ahead make sure you ask for examples of their previous work and review the kind of links they build, if they look spammy then stay away.
I would think about implementing a content based link building strategy or finding a freelancer who will. There are some great blog posts on here with ideas of how to do that.
Hope this helps,
Ben

Link building - anyone use this technique?
I have had a client come and ask me to do some link building, they are wanting to use a strategy of buying expired domains and creating a single page website with some keyword links back to the main website. Seems like an old idea at best, has anyone used it or is it risky

Link building strategy - my weak link!
Please help me understand link building. I've read the articles on Moz, but they seem vague to me. Specific questions: 1. How do I get my webpage on good quality sites? 2. Guest blogging? Good or not? 3. What about when people pick up one of our blog stories and publish it on their site with a link back? Is that bad now because it is duplicate content??? 4. Forum posts with a link in the signature? Good or not? 5. Directories - I get it that these are no longer good... are they severely negative? Should I take them down. 6. PR - Looks like this is bad... right??? 7. Youtube - any value? 8. Pinterst, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram? Any value to backlinks here? 9. What about sites like redit? 10. Anything else I should consider?

Internal Link Building
For a large part of our SEO we have been focusing on inbound links (mainly from guest posts and blogger reviews). But our rankings have dropped (though I understand there is a natural fluctuation in rankings quite often) this week and it occurred to me that we should be focusing more on internal link building as well. We, of course, link often to our home page and have related products on every page but we lack a lot of direct key word links in in our description. Would it behoove us to be on a specific product page--take for example owls and friends wall decals--and somewhere in the description add something like "our nursery wall decals are safe for....and have "nursery wall decals" be the direct link since that is a key term for us? I just wanted to make sure that we are headed in the right direction before I spend a massive amount of time updating all these product pages. Any input would be really helpful. Thanks so much, Elizabeth

Link building too quickly
Hi all, I have recently started trialing to outsource some SEO to a 3rd party, who obviously promissed white hat techniques and manual links etc.. All has gone well for the first month. But on speeking to another expert they point out that the search engines will spot inconcistencies in link building and penalise me. I know there will not be a know ammount but as we stand at the moment, what is the current feeling of too fast. Links built for me in one month were 100 directory submissions 80 bookmarks 16 search engine submissions 15 Article submissions 46 forum links 10 local classified searches Is this too fast? , If to do I stop and create more inconsistency or continue at a similar rate. Of course quality of link will be an issue, but how much. Many thanks from SEO jnr

Should I build links to wordpress category pages?
Hi guys, I'm working on http://www.top-10-dating-reviews.com and planto build links to the category pages - is that the best strategy for a comparison site like this? This is a wordpress site and I read that category pages should be no indexed is that the case? If so then obviously I'd be wasting my time building links to these pages as google wouldn't index them anyway. Any advice on the best strategy for link building would be much appreciated!

Using an SEO Agency to build one-way links for you via link exchange
There are a number of SEO agencies which offer link building as part of their SEO offerings. I believe they build one-way links to the client site, by offering another link in exchange to the liking site. So, if the client site is "C", and link is being requested from site "A", the site "A" owner is offered a link from site "B" in return. Is this a good and/or recommended practice?
