Yahoo Store Beginner with "duplicate content" errors. Can I pay for support? $$$
-
Hi. I have a Yahoo store that seems to have many errors. We built the site for utility knowing NOTHING about SEO. We just started with MOZ and would love to PAY someone to help get us past the beginning stages. Is there someone familiar with the Yahoo! Store format that can charge us perhaps in hourly blocks to walk us through possible solutions to issues?
One issue we are having... seems to be that our subsections which contain items that are the endpoints... I know of no way to label the sections anything but an "item". I'm wondering if this might be causing the "duplicate" error because a specific item is listed both in the section and on it's own page.
please help!

Hi Thom,
I don't know anything about "endpoints", but you maybe don't need a Yahoo store specialist, but just a regular SEO who can help you diagnose some of your problems. Moz has recommended companies you could reach out to ask if any offer hourly consulting. If they don't, try going thru the Q&A searching for any questions related to ecommerce and see who pipes in with helpful advice. (There is no ecommerce category in the Moz Q&A. I checked.) You could try approaching them.
I say that b/c I did a scan of your site and saw some duplicate pages, for example, http://www.atlasphones.com/reli.html, http://www.atlasphones.com/reli1.html and http://www.atlasphones.com/reli2.html, two of which look like they might be errors or oversights. It could just be that you need someone to help guide you through the process of discovering root causes and potential fixes. I worked with Yahoo store a few years ago, it has its querks, but is much like any other online store so if you can translate Yahoo terminology working with a SEO you might be able to make some great headway.
A second thought is whether you might be able to tag your "endpoints" or "items" as canonical and see whether that deals with the problem.
It's a start anyway.
Good luck!

Some of the URL's are - http://www.onlypetstore.com/collections/all http://www.onlypetstore.com/collections/all?page=10 http://www.onlypetstore.com/collections/all?page=100 http://www.onlypetstore.com/collections/all?page=101 http://www.onlypetstore.com/collections/all?page=102 http://www.onlypetstore.com/collections/all?page=103 I am new to SEO and any suggestions will be a great help to me.

403 error for a member site
Perhaps a stupid question but SEOmoz registers 403 errors for pages behind a membersite (ie. they are restricted on purpose). Should I noindex these pages or just let SEOmoz register these "errors"?

Duplicate page report
We ran a CSV spreadsheet of our crawl diagnostics related to duplicate URLS' after waiting 5 days with no response to how Rogerbot can be made to filter. My IT lead tells me he thinks the label on the spreadsheet is showing “duplicate URLs”, and that is – literally – what the spreadsheet is showing. It thinks that a database ID number is the only valid part of a URL. To replicate: Just filter the spreadsheet for any number that you see on the page. For example, filtering for 1793 gives us the following result: | URL http://truthbook.com/faq/dsp_viewFAQ.cfm?faqID=1793 http://truthbook.com/index.cfm?linkID=1793 http://truthbook.com/index.cfm?linkID=1793&pf=true http://www.truthbook.com/blogs/dsp_viewBlogEntry.cfm?blogentryID=1793 http://www.truthbook.com/index.cfm?linkID=1793 | There are a couple of problems with the above: 1. It gives the www result, as well as the non-www result. 2. It is seeing the print version as a duplicate (&pf=true) but these are blocked from Google via the noindex header tag. 3. It thinks that different sections of the website with the same ID number the same thing (faq / blogs / pages) In short: this particular report tell us nothing at all. I am trying to get a perspective from someone at SEOMoz to determine if he is reading the result correctly or there is something he is missing? Please help. Jim

How does SEOmoz pull its duplicate page title and content information?
I ask because I am getting errors based on URLs that do not even exist on our site. For example: http://www.robots.com/applications/abb/panasonic/robots this URL does not even exist for our site, but somehow it is listed in the error section of page title duplication tool. http://www.robots.com/applications/ exists, but there is no place to get to an ABB or a Panasonic robot from this page, not to mention an ABB/Panasonic (which for sure does not exist). ?? We have quite a few of these out there and just wondering how to find out where the link is coming from. When we checked our URLs through Integrity, links like the one listed above (which we had 29 of them listed) that do not show up. Thoughts? Thanks! Janelle

Duplicate Content being caused by home page?
Hello everyone, I am new to SEOmoz and SEO in general and I have a quick questions. When running a SEO Web Crawler report on my URL, I noticed in the report that my home page (also known as my index page) was listed twice. Here is what the report was showing: www.example.com/ www.example.com/index.php So are these 2 different urls? If so, is this considered duplicate content and should I block crawler access to the index.php? Thanks in advance for the help!

Is there any way to view crawl errors historically?
One of the website's we monitor have been getting high duplicate page titles, as we work through the pages, we see changes and the number of duplicate page titles are decreasing. However, lately, it went up again and the duplicate page titles have increased. I wanted to ask if there's any way to view the new errors and the old errors separately or sorted in a way that can help me identify why we are getting new page crawl errors. Any advice would be great. Thanks!

On the Crawl Diagnostics Summary, its reporting over 100 "Title Missing or Empty" issues, but they all check out fine?
Wondering if there Is a bug with the crawler or known timeout issues? Site speed is fast, but we do run a couple of large cron jobs out of hours, which may be the cause of any timeouts, but shouldn't the crawler report that, rather saying no title tags on 100 pages, when there are? SEOmoz newbie, so still finding my feet 🙂

The "Social Media Monitoring" tool in research tools
I used this tool once and noticed it provided nice links to where listed keywords were posted in articles, forums, blogs, etc..., since that time @3 weeks ago... it lists an "error" to links and/or doesn't provide them in a linkable list below to access. Is this tool being worked on or will it be available in the future? Thank you.
