Does uploading a new disavow file wipe out the original?
-
Hi guys,
Just struggling to get a definitive answer on this one. If say I disavow 55 domains, then upload a brand new disavow file with on 35 domains in it, does this mean the original disavow file will be overwritten and those original domains will be forgotten about?
Kind regards!
-
Yes, it overwrites. Always download the old list and make changes before uploading again.

Hi mate,
From what I remember (and done myself) it's a case of continually topping up the original list. Don't remove anything, just keep adding new ones and re-submitting.

Strange URL redirecting to my new site
Hi all, I recently relaunched a site on a brand new URL - www.boardwarehouse.co.uk. I've spent the last couple of weeks building some backlinks as well as developing a basic content strategy. We've started ranking for a few of our less competitive keywords which is great, however there's a strange site which either redirects or is mirroring our content. I'm at a complete loss as to what's causing this to happen and what i can do to stop it. On the attachment - my content is top and second. The fourth result is the offending site. Any help/ advice would be most helpful! Thanks in advance, Alick 0BSyNn6

How to add specific Tumblr blogs into a disavow file?
Hi guys, I am about to send a reconsideration letter and still finalizing my disavow file. The format of the disavow is Domain:badlink.com (stripping out to the root domain) but what about those toxic links that are located in tumblr such as: badlink.tumblr.com? The issue is that there are good tumblr links we got so I don't want to add just tumblr.com so do you guys think I will have issues submitting badlink.tumblr.com and not tumblr.com? Thank you!

IMPACTS on Moving Online Store to New Platform
I, I have this online store, http://www.filtrationmontreal.com/ built on osCommerce. This platform is NOT SEO friendly and I expecting to move it to a new platform, probably, http://www.americommerce.com/ Can I limit the SEO impact when moving this store? The domaine will be the same, but every other url on the site will change. I only know the basics of SEO, and only copy html code when I need to. So my knowledge are limited. Using Google Analytics, I have the most popular page url visit on the current store. To limit impact, I thought I should copy the most popular page URL of the curent store and do a 301 redirect on the store platform. Do you think this my limit the impact? Would there be a other way to limit SEO impact on Google search results? I don't want to be penalize if the search and up on a 401 page. Can anybody help me? Thank you, BigBlaze

Blocked by meta-robots but there is no robots file
OK, I'm a little frustred here. I've waited a week for the next weekly index to take place after changing the privacy setting in a wordpress website so Google can index, but I still got the same problem. Blocked by meta-robots, no index, no follow. But I do not see a robot file anywhere and the privacy setting in this Wordpress site is set to allow search engines to index this site. Website is www.marketalert.ca What am I missing here? Why can't I index the rest of the website and is there a faster way to test this rather than wait another week just to find out it didn't work again?

New URL structure caused a HUGE drop?
I have started working with a client who did an upgrade on their e-commerce sive in May of last year. It totally changed the URL structure and they didn't redirect old URLs or do any of the things they should have. Not unexpectedly they they went from about 300 visitors a day to 0 for then rose up to maybe 50 and have remained there ever since. There were some major onsite issues including about 15000 internal links that 302 back to the site. In any case I have fixed most of the onsite problems and worked on a little better categorization + content optimization, etc. We have only been working on this for about 30 days and organic traffic is up and they are ranking for much better keywords, but I expected a little quicker rise. Here is a screenshot out of GA of their descent. Its pretty rapid. I dont think it makes sense to redirect their old URLs at this point since most of them have been deindexed for 10+ months. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get back to their previous level. The domain actually has decent authority and link profile, etc. Is this just going to be a slow climb back? Any thoughts? Dynamically-generated .PDF files, instead of normal pages, indexed by and ranking in Google
Hi, I come across a tough problem. I am working on an online-store website which contains the functionlaity of viewing products details in .PDF format (by the way, the website is built on Joomla CMS), now when I search my site's name in Google, the SERP simply displays my .PDF files in the first couple positions (shown in normal .PDF files format: [PDF]...)and I cannot find the normal pages there on SERP #1 unless I search the full site domain in Google. I really don't want this! Would you please tell me how to figure the problem out and solve it. I can actually remove the corresponding component (Virtuemart) that are in charge of generating the .PDF files. Now I am trying to redirect all the .PDF pages ranking in Google to a 404 page and remove the functionality, I plan to regenerate a sitemap of my site and submit it to Google, will it be working for me? I really appreciate that if you could help solve this problem. Thanks very much. Sincerely SEOmoz Pro Member
