Redesigned and Migrated Website - Lost Almost All Organic Traffic - Mobile Pages Indexing over Normal Pages

We recently redesigned and migrated our site from www.jmacsupply.com to https://www.jmac.com
It has been over 2 weeks since implementing 301 redirects, and we have lost over 90% of our organic traffic. Google seems to be indexing the mobile versions of our pages over our website pages. We hired a designer to redesign the site, and we are confident the code is doing something that is harmful for ranking our website. F
or Example: If you google "KEEDEX-K-DS-FLX38" You should see our mobile page ranking: http://www.jmac.com/mobile/Product.aspx?ProductCode=KEEDEX-K-DS-FLX38 but the page that we want ranked (and we think should be, is https://www.jmac.com/Keedex_K_DS_FLX38_p/keedex-k-ds-flx38.htm) That second page isn't even indexed. (When you search for: "site:jmac.com Keedex K-DS-FLX38")
We have implemented rel canonical, and rel alternate both ways. What are we doing wrong??? Thank you in advance for any help - it is much appreciated.

I agree with Ryan - there is something fundamentally wrong with the way your page is build. I checked the speed of a productpage with Webpagetest.org - http://www.webpagetest.org/result/150311_PM_15Z8/1/details/ - if you look at the number of items loaded, it doesn't correspond with what is shown on screen.
I am not an expert in Javascript, but your HTML page is filled with it, and it seems to be loading much more files than you actually need. There are 412 image requests (!) for a total of 2105075 bytes, 21 HTML requests for 1593795 bytes, 18 javascript requests (326065 bytes)
Your developer did something really wrong here, and you need to correct this asap. In my experience, it's not normal that you loose 90% of organic traffic. I did several migrations over the last couple of months, of very big sites with no loss of search traffic.
Apart from this urgent problem, I would also block your shoppingcart and review links for indexing - they generate an enormous amount of 302 redirects Example urls: https://www.jmac.com/reviewhelpful.asp?ProductCode=HONEYWELL-ADEMCO-747F&ID=39994&yes=yes - http://www.jmac.com/ShoppingCart.asp?ProductCode=SILENT-KNIGHT-PS-DA - put a nofollow on these links or block them in robots.txt

Hi Judah. Running the Desktop version through Google's Page Insights returns a score of 27/100. See: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.jmac.com%2FKeedex_K_DS_FLX38_p%2Fkeedex-k-ds-flx38.htm&tab=desktop
While the mobile version is at 75/100 for desktop and 66/100 for mobile (https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.jmac.com%2Fmobile%2FProduct.aspx%3FProductCode%3DKEEDEX-K-DS-FLX38&tab=desktop)
Based on those factors alone, it looks like Google could be returning the mobile site as the 'better' version for users. Another thing you should employ though is 302 redirection based on OS / browser detection so that trying to go to the mobile version with a desktop browser results in seeing the desktop page. Did you also move to HTTPS? It looks like your canonical tags are set to the https version of your site. Have you added that site to GWT?
There is something in your CSS/HTML file that is taking forever to load. I would look for bad JS. The page spins for about 45 seconds before it actually loads.
In GWT, go to Crawl > Sitemaps > and look at your submitted sitemap. Make sure it sees all of the pages. You should also be able to see if pages are being indexed. It looks like you have about 565,000 pages indexed for www.jmac.com. You still have 360,000 pages indexed for www.jmacsupply.com. So, I would infer that the old site is still being deindexed and until that is finalized you might be having issues with duplicate content. Two weeks is a little premature to freak out in my opinion. This can take 4-6 weeks to finalize. There is always a period of time after a migration where traffic kind of plummets. If after 4 weeks you are still having issues, I would try fetching some pages as Google and seeing what happens.
Google's mobile bot tends to crawl pages faster than the desktop bot. That would explain why your mobile page is ranking in engines for specific product searches. If I just Google the name of your company, your mobile site is a few pages deep.
Some things to check would be that your 301 redirects have been implemented accurately, make sure you have set the preferred domain in GWT, add both the www version and non www version of the site as well as the https and non https version of your site, and make sure that your canonical tags are set correctly. If the https is your preferred version, whenever someone types in jmac.com they should land on the https version, and that is not happening.

Website url structure after redesign and 301 redirect chains - Looking for advice
OK, been trying to piece together what is best practice for someone I'm working with, so here goes; Website was redesigned, changed urls from url a to url b. 301's put in place. However, the new url structure is not optimal. It's an e-commerce store, and all products are put in the root folder now: www.website.com/product-name A better, more organized url structure would be: www.website.com/category/product-name I think we can all agree on that. However, I'm torn on whether it's worth changing everything again, and how to handle things in terms of redirects. The way I see things, it would result in a redirect chain, which is not great and would reduce link equity. Keeping the products in the root moving forward with a poor structure doesn't feel great either. What to do? Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated!

Home Page Being Indexed / Referral URLs /
I have a few questions related to home page URLs being indexed, canonicalization, and GA reporting... 1. I can view the home page by typing in domain.com , domain.com/ and domain.com/index.htm There are no redirects and it's canonicalized to point to domain.com/index.htm -- how important is it to have redirects? I don't want unnecessary redirects or canonical tags, but I noticed the trailing slash can sometimes be typed in manually on other pages, sometimes not. 2. When I do a site search (site:domain.com), sometimes the HP shows up as "domain.com/", never "domain.com/index.htm" or "domain.com", and sometimes the HP doesn't show up period. This seems to change several times a day, sometimes within 15 minutes. I have no idea what is causing it and I don't know if it has anything to do with #1. In a perfect world, I would ask for the /index.htm to be dropped and redirected to .com/, and the canonical to point to .com/ 3. I've noticed in GA I see / , /index.htm, and a weird Google referral URL (/index.htm?referrer=https://www.google.com/) all showing up as top pages. I think the / and /index.htm is because I haven't setup a default URL in GA, but I'm not sure what would cause the referrer. I tracked back when the referrer URL started to show up in the top pages, and it was right around the time they moved over to https://, so I'm not sure what the best option is to remove that. I know this is a lot - I appreciate any insight anyone can provide.

Website indexed but not ranking for anything
hello everyone, It seems my website http://www.scribidocampus.com/ is indexed by google but it si not ranking anywhere, even wehn i google scribidocampus. If i search any of the text on my website in " " no results come up. can someone tell me the reason?

How do I get my pages to go from "Submitted" to "Indexed" in Google Webmaster Tools?
Background: I recently launched a new site and it's performing much better than the old site in terms of bounce rate, page view, pages per session, session duration, and conversions. As suspected, sessions, users, and % new sessions are all down. Which I'm okay with because the the old site had a lot of low quality traffic going to it. The traffic we have now is much more engaged and targeted. Lastly, the site was built using Squarespace and was launched the middle of August. **Question: **When reviewing Google Webmaster Tools' Sitemaps section, I noticed it says 57 web pages Submitted, but only 5 Indexed! The sitemap that's submitted seems to be all there. I'm not sure if this is a Squarespace thing or what. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!!

Home page indexed but not ranking...interior pages with thin content outrank home page??
I have a Joomla site with a home page that I can't get to rank for anything beyond the company name @ Google - the site works fine @ Bing and Yahoo. The interior pages will rank all day long but the home page never shows up in the results. I have checked the page code out in every tool that I know about and have had no luck....by all account it should be good to go...any thoughts/comments/help would be greatly appreciated. Campaign shows 5,000 warnings from shared database feed, made pages no-follow and no-index, are we OK now?
One of our campaigns shows 5,000 warnings for dup content, meta descriptions, and urls. This is from a xml database feed that is shared throughout the industry. We made the pages no-follow and no-index, but on Moz crawl still get the warnings. No warnings on Webmaster tools. Should we ignore these warnings and are we OK now, or is there more work to do?

2 links on home page to each category page ..... is page rank being watered down?
I am working on a site that has a home page containing 2 links to each category page. One of the links is a text link and one link is an image link. I think I'm right in thinking that Google will only pay attention to the anchor text/alt text of the first link that it spiders with the anchor text/alt text of the second being ignored. This is not my question however. My question is about the page rank that is passed to each category page..... Because of the double links on the home page, my reckoning is that PR is being divided up twice as many times as necessary. Am I also right in thinking that if Google ignore the 2nd identical link on a page only one lot of this divided up PR will be passed to each category page rather than 2 lots ..... hence horribly watering down the 'link juice' that is being passed to each category page?? Please help me win this argument with a developer and improve the ranking potential of the category pages on the site 🙂

Page rank 2 for home page, 3 for service pages
Hey guys, I have noticed with one of our new sites, the home page is showing page rank two, whereas 2 of the internal service pages are showing as 3. I have checked with both open site explorer and yahoo back links and there are by far more links to the home page. All quality and relevant directory submissions and blog comments. The site is only 4 months old, I wonder if anyone can shed any light on the fact 2 of the lesser linked pages are showing higher PR? Thanks 🙂
