Migrating Youtube Channels
-
Does anybody have any advice for migrating Youtube Channels. In other words there is one account with a handful of videos and another account with a handful of videos and we will want to migrate them to just one account. Is it really just re-uploading them and deleting the older account or is there more to this than that?
Thanks,

The official Youtube take on it is here: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/2404846
Unfortunately, you can’t merge or link separate YouTube channels. Similarly, you can’t transfer data from one channel to another (this includes videos).
However, you can download your videos from your own channel. Once you've downloaded your video, you can re-upload it to a different channel. View count and other statistics will start over for the new upload.
That's the official version.

I don't know specifically about migrating channels in detail, but I do know that Google and Youtube will only crawl and index youtube videos and their information when initially uploaded. So keep this in mind if you're thinking of re-using and maybe re-optimizing the videos, as it won't hold as much value as re-uploading them fresh.

Brand Migration Issues
My company is in the midst of a brand transition and is experiencing some difficulties in migrating web content to a parent company domain. When content from the old domain was migrated to the parent, there were rel-canonicals set on top level pages of the old domain referencing its equal on the parent destination. Then each sub-page was redirected to the parent company. What I have found is that the only pages that indexed on the partent domain were the top level pages. I am having a hard time figuring out why the sub-pages won't index. Does anyone have advice on how to handle this? Would reactivating the old URLs and setting rel-canonicals help? Also when should 301 redirects be implemented?

Niche sites migration into one authority site
I have multiple websites within the health niche. All 3 sites are about different topics: protein powder, superfoods, and sustainable products. I am thinking about migrating those 3 sites into 1 big site, to establish more authority and for branding purposes. But since those domains are exact match domains, and those exact keywords are pretty high volume, I'm not sure if it's a good idea. Will this be a good idea from a traffic/conversion/seo standpoint? Or should I make a header on top where people can 'switch' between those 3 sites? Or just leave them seperate?

YouTube transcript being used for junk blog?
Should I be concerned about youtube transcripts with our brand name being used to populate junk blogs? I just noticed this with freshweb this morning: http://www.sharehomevalue.com/blogs/11567. There are about 4 pages of results like this... mostly Korean websites.

Showing up in Related Videos on Youtube
I notice that that on YouTube, the related links that show up at the end of our videos are a smorgasbord of our competitors and other videos similar in theme (which makes sense, as those are truly related videos). What I'm curious about -- and have had difficult finding, is tips and case studies for improving and maintaining appearance in the related video sections, and perhaps some insight into how those videos are rated for for related videos. Correlation on YouTube seems to be spotty at best, I know keywords and user metrics are key, but any more specific advice or clarification on the issue would be appreciated.

YouTube won't let me disconnect a Google+ business page from my channel.
Hello! Here is a good one. My YouTube channel is connected to a Google+ page a created by accident. Since I named this accidental page as a business, when I go into advanced setting to disconnect it from YouTube, it says "This feature is not available for this account." Does anyone know a way around this? I don't want to have to rebuild my Google+ page on the new, accidental page. I have put quite a bit of time onto my current page and would like to get it hooked up to YouTube. Please help! Thank you!

On the "new" YouTube" layout how can I select the correct Facebook page to connect to when my Facebook account has multiple business pages attached to it?
On the "new" YouTube" layout how can I select the correct Facebook page to connect to when my Facebook account has multiple business pages attached to it? My Facebook account has three business pages and the "base" user profile. I am trying to connect one of the business pages to a YouTube channel but each time I attempt to do this YouTube selects the "base" user profile and I cannot determine how to switch it to the correct business page. I attempted to connect while signed in "as the page" but it would not allow that. Thanks for any help!

Video's Pros and Cons - YouTube vs My website or both?
This isn't really a question per say, but more of a request for advise. We are in the process of creating videos for our travel website. They are more informational and do not promote any products as such. I am aware of the options, and I am leaning towards creating a pro account with Vimeo so that the videos are available only on our website. The reason for this is so that we can at least get credit for our work, as when they are on you tube, anybody can syndicate the video without linking to our website. I am also aware that there are allot of searches happening on YouTube, and it may be worse if we choose not to upload our videos there as we would loose out on a big audience. it would be GREAT if we had the best of both options. And i had an idea i want to get your opinions on. Create the video and upload onto our website with "lower competitive" title / meta / body. Submit the video on YouTube with a "Higher competitive" keyword / title /meta and description. When someone finds our video, they might search YouTube to avoid linking back and wont find it, (although it is there getting traffic from a similar keyword) Branding is the number 1 objective for these videos, so you tube + many other video sites would be the way to go. However, i would also like our own "private" video blog on our site so that if web masters like the video, we can give them the option of embedding it on there site (like SEOMOZ do it on there whiteboard Fridays) Your comments and suggestions will be muchly appreciated.
