Using Iframes for Affiliate Ads
-
Hey all, I got a question:
is it Ok to use an Iframe for example to list some Vacation Houses in my Travel Website? This is an Affiliate kind of Program Iframe Link. I did write unique Content about 400 Words and put this Text below the Affiliate Iframe, is this good or not?
-
Also make sure that there is sizeable content in the top fold, keeping in mind the page layout algo update from Google.

Hi Marcel, it is perfectly alright to display your affiliate offer that way as long as you have the relevant content supporting the offer on the page. Personally, I would go with much bigger content like around 650 words so as to please Google especially after the Panda and Penguins. Please make sure that the iframe is reasonable in size and it does not overwhelm the page by being a huge one.
Best regards,
Devanur Rafi.

Adding CTAs in Meta Descriptions
Whats peoples opinions about putting Call To Cations CTAs in Meta Descriptions, and does this ever occur a Google penalty, as it can sometimes look a bit clickbait. For example I am looking at a site which currently has this meta description Meta Description: For more information on our sustainable, natural office furniture, click here to get in contact. Is this kind of description ranking unfriendly, Ive seen them used a lot but IM not a big fan of this myself. Any thoughts?

Using Canonical Tags on Every Page
I'm doing competitive research and noticed that one of our competitors (who outranks us) uses canonical tags on every page on their site. The canonical tags reference the page they are on. For example. www.competitor.com/product has a canonical tag of www.competitor.com/product. Does anyone use this practice? It seems strange to me. Thank you, Kristen

Using Subdomains to Avoid Sitewide Penalties?
If I'm using a subdomain on my website, for instance news.mywebsite.com, and it gets penalized by Panda (or whatever animal update), would that affect the main domain and/or other subdomains?

Sitemap error is reported when using a sitemap-index generated by Yoast
I've installed the Yoast SEO Plugin for wordpress and I've setup the sitemaps using it. I saw the tool has generated the Sitemap index file http://www.phraseexpander.com/sitemap_index.xml with different indexes for posts and pages I've submitted that to google and it's indexed. When I use Seoquake to check my website, I see that it says that the sitemap is missing (in fact http://www.phraseexpander.com/sitemap.xml) is returning 404. Shall I fix that? Shall I do a 301 redirect in my .htaccess file to http://www.phraseexpander.com/sitemap_index.xml Thanks.

Does adding ™ help or hurt?
I have a client who rents kids' party products that are branded (Batman, Curious George, etc.) Does it help or hurt to put the superscript "TM" in the Meta Title, or other meta or actual content of their product listings? I have some guesses, but am curious for other opinions / data! Thanks very much!

Which is better to use: apostrophe version or non-apostrophe version?
When targeting a keyword phrase that contains an apostrophe (in the correct spelling), is it better to use the non-apostrophe version if it has higher search volume.

What URL Should I use in Google Place Page?
Alright, I have a client that has 1 website and 14 locations. We want to create place pages for each of their locations but my question is which URL should I put in the place page and why? I can put in the root domain into each place page, or should I put in the URL that lands on the actual location on the root. example: domain.com/location1 Thanks!
