.com Doman and off-shore host for an Australia company, does this hurt ratings?

We have a site based in Australia that has been using the .com domain. Recently the .com.au became available and we purchased it and use a 301 redirect. Does having a site hosted off-shore and a .com rather than .com.au for a company affect the ratings in google.com.au for Australian traffic?

I wouldn't take chances. I would host on shore and use the country-specific domain.

How search engines are behavin' today might be very different from tomorrow. So, I would go with what makes logical sense.

Hi all, I'm trying to write a blog post about the human attention span and the likelihood of people bouncing on websites. After doing some research I'm surprised about how many 'outdated' numbers are circulating: many articles refer to studies from '12 or '14. Like this:

Should i switch from .com to .fr / .de etc

Hi, I have a seo question that I just cant seem to get an answer for. Right now I have an international ecommerce shop selling to several european countries.
The setup is like this:
www.domain.com -> 301 -> www.domain.com/nl (dutch)
www.domain.com/uk (english)
www.domain.com/fr (french)
www.domain.com/de (german) I also have the domainnames for the countries I sell to:
www.domain.nl / www.domain.fr / www.domain.co.uk / www.domain.fr Its quite easy to switch to the later because I allready own the domains and can technically change this within an hour in our magento2 multistore. I think the customers would trust their local tld more than the .com and my question is: Is it also better for SEO?
Or will the splitting of the backlinks hurt me. Thanks for your insights.

90% website bounce rate - What am I doing wrong?

(Also not getting any comments on any of my articles) Hi, everyone! I'm very new to the community here, but I'm honestly at my wits end. I've run an affiliate marketing site for about 8 months now, and I've consistently had issues with bounce rate. I've tried to look into it myself, but I can't seem to determine what the issue is. A couple things, though - One, a lot of my traffic currently goes to two articles which don't actually have any intent to convert. I didn't even write those articles for the sake of conversion, they were just for fun and I thought they'd be useful to people who stumbled across them. So that could be one reason my bounce rate is so high, but I'm not sure.Anyway, I've asked a LOT of people in the past (I was part of an affiliate marketing community at one point - I asked the founders, friends, strangers, and other successful affiliate marketers about this) if there's anything wrong with my content, etc. The answer has always been no, that it's good. I'm sorry. My thoughts are a bit scatterbrained here. I just don't know what to do here. If all my content for 8 months has just utterly sucked, I'd feel pretty demotivated, but at least I could know what to improve going forward. That's what I need help with from you guys. Here's my website, though I'm not sure if links are allowed: http://cheapgamesguru.com/ My latest articles aren't really getting any traffic at all yet, so I'm not really concerned with them. Specifically, ignore my Future of the HTC Vive, Crusader Kings 2, and World of Warcraft articles. Those are part of my "fun blogs" where I just write about games and such with no real intent to convert. If they start getting traffic, then I'll go and add some more internal links or CTAs. However, this trend of high bounce rates started quite some time ago, so it's still an issue) Could it be as simple as a performance problem? I haven't checked my pagespeed recently, not since I switched to a new (Faster) host. I know users are far more likely to leave if the site doesn't load within 3 seconds. Another possible reason is referral spam, of course. I've tried my very best to eliminate it as much as possible, used filtering tools, etc. but I can't seem to completely eradicate it. Should I Use A Local Hosting Center?

This question spawns from a comment I read in another post, but has anyone seen success switching from a hosting provider like bluehost, hostgator, etc to a local one in their area? Right now, we use Bluehost, but if there is a benefit to using one in Tampa, I'm all for it....before I do, I just want to see what the consensus is. Thanks, Ruben

When Googling site:mydomain.com what does listing order tell us?

To find all the pages on my site that are indexed by Google I can search using site:mydomain.com and it gives pages of results. But what does the order of results relate to? Is it page rank or strength? My list of pages doesn't appear to be in order of strength. And it's definitely not by age or alphabetical...

How can we provide geo-detection without hurting SEO?

We represent a franchise, and the parent site does well for head terms, but we want to add a feature with the nearest location to a consumer based on geo-detection. We don't want to hurt the rankings for broad head terms. Could we use an iFrame to present the closest shop without affecting the general SEO we have done?

Need to rank xxx.com to 2 locations

Hi, I have a voip service, currently my keywords are ranking good in US. But i would like to rank them for India too. As i am selling India based voip services. I have a single domain .COM and no country specific domain. Here what i am planning to do. I would change the setting in Google webmasters central to change the target country to USA. And then i will do on page seo to match keywords related to India. Is there anyother suggestions? please let me know.

Would you say it is more bennificial to seperate keywords in the title tag tag of a page using a common ( keyword , keyword | Domain.com) or using a hyphen as SEOmoz best practices reccommends (keyword - keyword | domain.com)?

Title tag best practices according to seomoz is the following keyowrd - keyword | brand.com but I have seen some interesting results from using a comma as to a hyphen to seperate keywords as reccomended and wanted to know which method is more crawler friendly.
