When migrating to https should you unlink the verified http version from my GA account?
-
Hi
We had a new site design at the end of April and at the same time changed to https. Over the last 6 months, according to our analytics account the traffic has dramatically dropped especially from mobile. We were at 3607 new visitors from mobile in April and now 32! in September.
Technically (other than page speed and some meta issues that I'm aware of) there doesn't initially appear to be anything wrong. I have just been into search console and notice that the old http site still has the GA code on it, could it be that this is why the data is showing such a massive drop? Should we have taken that off when we migrated the site? The same analytics account is also on the new site.
Thanks in advance
Janine

Hi
I'm just editing to keep old data and setting https instead of http. Of course update code if you need.

Is GA Real-Time Locations Broken?
When I look at my real-time site traffic in GA, I'm seeing a lot of direct traffic from Montvale, NJ. However, when I go to the audience tab for today or any day in the past, Montvale doesn't even show up in the list of cities sending traffic. What am I missing here?

Connect AMP to the same website GA property or not
Hi, Asking this on behalf of a client:"I know Google recommends setting up a separate GA property for AMP which they note in a few places:https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/amp-analytics/https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6343176?hl=en

From what we can tell this is because the tracking for AMP will measure things differently than the current analytics.js library. I also think it's related to the GA cookie and how it's set differently for AMP pages. But won't this cause drop-off in user journey information? For example, if a user views an AMP blog article but then clicks to our site from a link within the article. I think we would then track this as two separate users and the pages/visit would be off. I found this article which explains a tech way to connect AMP to the same website GA property but it seems a little too much of a work-around:https://www.simoahava.com/analytics/google-analytics-client-id-amp-pages/ Do you think we should just do what Google recommends and set up AMP as a separate property in GA?" --> Does anyone know if there could be any issues with this workaround?Thanks,0 -

Show item status in GA - LIve vs sold vs unsold
Hi guys, I am working with SEO for an auction site with B2C and C2C. (similar to eBay) All item\products on our page have an unique url. The auction can last from hours to weeks.
Reporting & Analytics | | helgeolaussen
When the item is live, sold or (finished but)unsold it still has the same url.
So when I take a look at SEO traffic to items in Google Analytics, I can't tell if the item was live, sold or unsold at the time the user landed on the page. Which makes it diffucult to analyse the traffic. Is there anyway I can make GA show the status of the item for the time user landed on it? Best regards, Ceran0 -

| _gaq.push(['_trackevent', 'PDF', 'Download', 'name of file']); | Should I put it just in between _gaq.push(['_setDomainName', 'coit.com']); and _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); ? Please provide details because I ve never done this before Thanks 🙂0 -

So my question is please... "Do i have to add additional tracking code to Google analytics as explained here - https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/gajs/gaTrackingSocial " Thanks in advance,

GA dropping source due to 3rd party checkout?
So I am trying to track ecommerce transactions on a Prostores site and GA is dropping the source because the checkout is on prostores domain instead of the store domain. All ecommerce transactions show a source of the actual website as a referral. I've read googles documentation on tracking across multiple domains but just can't quite get it right. Can anyone help me out? Here is my tracking code: ss:commentdo nothing</ss:comment>
