Moz Crawl - 804 : HTTPS (SSL) error encountered when requesting page.
-
Got an issue sending a Crawl Request to https://www.usernamebuddy.com/ "
"804 : HTTPS (SSL) error encountered when requesting page." I have tried to recrawl several times now same issue keeps occurring.
I cannot see an error when I access the site am I missing something, if so how can I diagnose the issue and sort the problem?
I have reviewed the source and cannot use any http: resources.

Thanks for the quick reply Tawny.

Plans to upgrade the Crawl Test aren't on the road map as far as I know — our engineering resources are devoted to other areas of the tools at the moment, and the Crawl Test is pretty low priority compared to some of the sweet new things the engineers are working on at the moment. I'm afraid I don't know when or if the Crawl Test will be updated to handle SNI settings. Sorry I can't give you a solid timeframe!

Hi Tawny,
At some point is the Crawl Test going to be upgraded so it can be used on sites with SNI? SSL/TLS is becoming di rigueur, which definitely will mean more sites on SNI, and it would be nice to have the ability to perform on-demand scans.
Thanks,

Thanks Tawny.

Hey there! Tawny from Moz's Help Team here.
The reason you're getting those 804 errors is just like Joe Stoffel has suggested — SNI settings and our old crawler's inability to handle SNI compatibility settings. The new crawler, which populates data for the Site Crawl section of a Moz Pro campaign, doesn't have this issue — we've developed a solution for it and the issue is solved for campaign crawls. It's just out Crawl Test tool that still uses our old crawler and can still run into those errors.
Unfortunately, there's not much of a workaround I can offer for this one; the Crawl Test will continue to have those 804 errors and not be able to crawl any further into your site. I would recommend setting up a Moz Pro campaign for any sites you need to see Site Crawl data for.
I hope this helps! If you still have questions, feel free to drop us a line at help@moz.com and we'll do our best to sort everything out with you.

Hi there,
I think you may find the answer in this Moz thread: - 804 HTTPS (SSL) error. Are you using SNI for your security certificate? That seems to be a common issues.
Other resources to help you with this issue:
How Do I Troubleshoot 804 HTTPS Crawl Error?
Moz Pro, our web crawler, and sites that use SNI (804 HTTPS SSL) error
Hope this helps!

Can building quality links on internal pages help us to improve DA?
Dear expert,
Moz Bar | | jhfdbeaob
I hope that you all are fine 🙂
Today, I am very confused about improving DA of my client website. For example: He has a domain www.abc.com
and he wants me to build a backlinks on different internal pages like
www.abc.com/service-1
www.abc.com/service-2
www.abc.com/service-3 If i build high quality links on internal pages (service pages) rather than building links on main domain (home page). Does the Domain Authority will increase
OR
I have to build links on Main page to boost the DA I am hoping a positive reply from your side Thanks1 -

How can I find duplicate pages from a Moz Crawl?
We have many duplicate pages that show up on the Moz Crawl, and we're trying to fix these but it's very difficult because I can't see a way to isolate the code where the duplicate is found. For instance, http://experiencemission.org/immersion/ is one of our main pages, and the crawl shows one duplicate of http://experiencemission.org/immersion. It appears that one of our staff manually edited the source code in one of our pages but forgot the trailing slash. This would be an easy fix but the problem is that this page is linked to internally on our website 2423 times, so it's next to impossible to find the code that is incorrect. We have many other pages with this same basic problem. We know we have duplicates, but it's next to impossible to isolate them. So my question is this: When viewing the Moz Crawl data is there any way to see where a specific duplicate page link is located on our website? Thanks for any and all help!

Problem Downloading Crawl Error Report PDF's
I am trying to download the PDF reports for the various 'crawl errors' - now some of them are quite large but would that justify why I am unable to download - the error is a straightforward one, see attached. Any ideas? Andy aDlViIN

Duplicate Page and Title Issues
On the last crawl, we received errors for duplicate page titles and some duplicate content pages. Here is the issue: We went through our page titles that were marked as duplicate and changed them to make sure their titles were different. However, we just received a new crawl this week and it is saying there are even more duplicate page title errors detected than before. We're wondering if this is a problem with just us or if it has been happening to other Moz users. As for the duplicate content pages, what is the best way to approach this and see what content is being looked at as a "duplicate" set?

On Page Grader not working on the fly
On Page Grader has this lovely little re-grade page button next to the URL and term field but it's never worked on the fly for me. What's going on here? You discover something critical, fix it and you want the satisfaction of re-grading to test it and get that A but it doesn't work. I can see the changes on the site so why not??

New website launched 3 weeks ago but not sure what Moz Analysis is telling me?
Hi 3 weeks ago I re-branded and completely changed the proposition on www.over50choices.co.uk as the URL is appropriate to the proposition. And whilst it looks good I am unsure what the Moz Tools are telling me, other than it doesnt look good? There should be about 163 pages, but Moz reports over 500 due to i think so many 301's? Plus most pages under the HTTP Status reports No Data! Most of the the 404's are from the old site. Webmaster Tools say 163 pages submitted but only 2 indexed, but on site:search it says about 117 but 40+ of these are the old site. It looks a mess...! Sleepless nights have started - any thoughts!? Thanks Ash
