Different snippet in Google for same page
-
Hello,
I have a question regarding the snippet of a specific case:
When i search the homepage by searching the business name, i find the correct snippet of the homepage (with the meta description that was entered).
If i search it via site:www. it still show the default meta description.
Has anybody had experience with this? Is there a way to change the snippet of site:www.? Does it influence SEO?
Thank you!

Hello,
Thanks for your reaction. The url's of both snippets are the same (https://www). Since these are the same url's there is no canonical url.
We have recently changed the meta description, so a recrawl does look like the best option.

Hi Jeroen (i think:-),
I agree with Packaging-Group as you mention you find both www and non www homepage on google means both are indexed and are considered different pages by Google. Also if you would have a canonical on one of those pages pointing to the other Google most likely wouldn´t index it.
Since both pages, www and non www, have the same content they are both competing for rankings and are therefore not good for SEO.
You can do a 301 redirect on most server between www and non www to solve this issue.
Hope this helps and success

When you click on both links in the search results, do they both have "www" in the url? If they are different, then you likely have issues with www and non-www versions of your website both being indexed.
Is there a canonical url set on the page?
Have you recently updated your meta description? If so, manually submit the url in search console and see if the issue remains.

Product Pages not indexed by Google
We built a website for a jewelry company some years ago, and they've recently asked for a meeting and one of the points on the agenda will be why their products pages have not been indexed. Example: http://rocks.ie/details/Infinity-Ring/7170/ I've taken a look but I can't see anything obvious that is stopping pages like the above from being indexed. It has a an 'index, follow all' tag along with a canonical tag. Am I missing something obvious here or is there any clear reason why product pages are not being indexed at all by Google? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Update I was told 'that each of the product pages on the full site have corresponding page on mobile. They are referred to each other via cannonical / alternate tags...could be an angle as to why product pages are not being indexed.'

Organic Listings showing Google Tag Manager + Google Page Title...?
I'm a bit stumped with this. I optimise all my titles etc for Australia - and now the organic liatings are showing something strange. For example ( we sell health supplements ) Meta title = "My Product , Buy Online Australia" If I type "My Product" - the title in the organic listings says "My Product - My Company Limited" - and the only place I can see it getting that from is a combination of Meta Data used in Google Tag Manager + the Name on my Google places page. This is much more obvious for categories.. but it's a pain in the butt. If I type "My Product Australia" Then the original "My Product , Buy Online Australia" comes up. Any ideas on policy etc? I have taken the "Limited" off the Google business page - so hopefully this will change over time - but I can't find any information on why google would do something like this. If you had shed any light on this - would be much appreciated.

Client has moved to secured https webpages but non secured http pages are still being indexed in Google. Is this an issue
We are currently working with a client that relaunched their website two months ago to have hypertext transfer protocol secure pages (https) across their entire site architecture. The problem is that their non secure (http) pages are still accessible and being indexed in Google. Here are our concerns: 1. Are co-existing non secure and secure webpages (http and https) considered duplicate content?

2. If these pages are duplicate content should we use 301 redirects or rel canonicals?
3. If we go with rel canonicals, is it okay for a non secure page to have rel canonical to the secure version? Thanks for the advice.0 -
Google authorship page versus posrt
I have a wordpress.com blog and have recently set up google authorship (at least I think I have). If I add a new post what happens to the old post in terms of authorship? Is the solution opening a new page for each article? If so does the contribution link in google+ pick up all pages if you only have home link? many thanks

What's the best way to check Google search results for all pages NOT linking to a domain?
I need to do a bit of link reclamation for some brand terms. From the little bit of searching I've done, there appear to be several thousand pages that meet the criteria, but I can already tell it's going to be impossible or extremely inefficient to save them all manually. Ideally, I need an exported list of all the pages mentioning brand terms not linking to my domain, and then I'll import them into BuzzStream for a link campaign. Anybody have any ideas about how to do that? Thanks! Jon

What Sources to use to compile an as comprehensive list of pages indexed in Google?
As part of a Panda recovery initiative we are trying to get an as comprehensive list of currently URLs indexed by Google as possible. Using the site:domain.com operator Google displays that approximately 21k pages are indexed. Scraping the results however ends after the listing of 240 links. Are there any other sources we could be using to make the list more comprehensive? To be clear, we are not looking for external crawlers like the SEOmoz crawl tool but sources that would be confidently allow us to determine a list of URLs currently hold in the Google index. Thank you /Thomas
