Should Medical Practices Build Citations For Each Practitioner?
-
I'm working with a medical practice that has 6 doctors in a single office location. We already have GMB pages for the practice as a whole as well as each practitioner.
Should multi-practitioner businesses like medical practices build citations for each practitioner as well? For instance, should each doctor have a listing on YellowPages, Localeze, etc?
-
Thanks so much Miriam, helpful as always! Do you recommend that the website links on the practitioner's citation point to the homepage of the site, or should they point to the doctor's biography page on the site?
When you mention automation, do you have any particular service in mind? We happily use Moz Local for the main office location, is it also well-suited to manage practitioners' listings? Maybe they need to be created as separate locations?

Good afternoon!
If the practice has determined to build GMB listings for its practitioners, then, yes, building out citations for them would be the next step. These strengthen the chances of the doctors ranking for their specialties, both in the local packs and in the organic rankings. Typically, when you start navigating scenarios like this, some form of automation is going to help. You don't want to be dealing with 600 citations for 6 doctors manually

URL Best Practices (for site with millions of records)
We have a company information database where we also list companies located in a specific building/property. We plan to add more information to these pages basically to create a Property/building database. From an SEO standpoint, what is the best URL structure? Please note we will have information on millions of properties, across the US. Currently this is an example of what we are displaying http://www.buzzfile.com/Lists/Companies-located-at-45-Broadway,-New-York,-NY,-10006/6959468 When we change this, we plan to also migrate to https. For the above page, we are considering changing it to something like the following: 1 - https://www.buzzfile.com/Property/45-Broadway,-New-York,-NY,-10006/6959468 2  https://www.buzzfile.com/Property/6959468 Most users will search for these pages by address. What do you recommend we change our URLs to in order to get maximum SEO lift? Thank you,

Changing the business name in citations and GMB
In Australia, some businesses are Pty Ltd (Proprietary Limited) hence, their business name ends with xxx Pty Ltd. How accurate do we have to be when building citations or updating citations that Pty Ltd is included in the business name? We've got clients who have left out Pty Ltd in their previously built citations and we're wondering if it's worth the time to actually update them to include Pty Ltd. Also, does changing a business name affect its rankings? This is more than just "Pty Ltd", it's changing from XYZ to ABC. We've previously had to change a client's address on their GMB and this had a negative effect on the client's rankings. Will changing the business name have an adverse effect? Thank you in advance for your advices!

Citations & Snack Pack
One of our clients have two business names. Â Alpha Paving Industries and Alpha Roofing Industries. -- both have the same address. Couple questions- 1.They changed their address a few months ago. Â On your listing for both companies ...you show a "Suite A". Â Google and Facebook do not that the "suite A"....why does it show up still? 2. Â One each- there are inconsistencies. Â On Alpha Paving, Alpha Roofing shows up...same thing with Alpha Roofing, Alpha Paving shows up as inconsistent. Â This affects the score I imagine? Â How can it be resolved so the inconsistencies are gone. 3. Â To get on the "snack pack" your citations have to be perfect. Â Will this keep both Alpha Paving and Alpha Roofing from getting in the "snack pack"? Thanks you! Craig

Is it possible to use sub URLs in Citations?
Hello, One of my client has business in 5Â different locations so he has URL's like: "www.abc.com/city-service" for which he has listing verified in each location. I can certainly say that Google Business allow sub pages URL in citations (correct me if I am wrong). I am not sure if it is possible to use the sub URL's like: www.abc.com/city-service in different citations websites? Also, if this would be a good approach or not? Please help me. Sam

SEO issues with Physician and Practice not ranking for their own names
I've inherited an SEO client who's got all kinds of ranking problems. Currently his name Dr. Laddis shows up for his old practice, Saratoga Cardiology Associates (http://saratogacardiology.com/) instead of his current one Cardiology Specialty Services (http://cardiologyspecialtyservices.org/ )Â He's also showing up with a G+ for the old practice that's listed as closed. The 2nd listing is for his bio on the hospital page.(<cite class="_Rm">https://saratogahospital.org/doctor/theodoros-laddis-md-facc/Â )</cite> Then come the usual Dr directories. His YouTube channel shows up. But his actual website isn't until the middle of the 2nd page. I'm also having similar issues getting the practice to show up in search (http://cardiologyspecialtyservices.org/ ). As I was coming on board, they also had a name change from Saratoga Cardiology Specialty Services to Cardiology Specialty Services. Their G+ local business page has the custom URL for Saratoga Cardiology Specialty Services but the name on the page is Cardiology Specialty Services. Their website is actually part of the hospital multisite with a URL redirect. While the site shows up for "cardiologist Saratoga" their G+ page doesn't show up.(https://plus.google.com/+Saratogacardiologyspecialtyservices/about ). I've also done on-page SEO and am still in the process of submitting to directories. Any thoughts on what the hangup is or what I can do to clear up this mess would be appreciated.

Multi-Location Listing Best Practices for Home Office, In-the-Field Positions, and Business Centers
Hi fellow Mozzers! Â Our marketing agency (based near SF) has partnered with 3 individuals in NYC, LA, and Seattle. Â I would like reflect our expansion on our site and local listings, but want to make sure we're on the up and up, since it's not a traditional brick-and-mortar expansion. Â Many people have used similar tactics in a black-hat way, so just want to make sure we don't get grouped in there. Â Is pursuing local listings in advisable in this case? In the Field/Home Offices - What is the best practice for listing a location in the field with home office - but no official B&M office? Business Centers - How does Google treat business centers where we have a part-time presence? Â (We legitimately use, can receive mail/phone calls, have an office share allocation, and host meetings in their boardroom.) Local Numbers and Addresses - Will a local phone number forwarding to our main HQ work? Â We'd prefer to filter all of our calls through our HQ since we have the infrastructure there. Other Considerations - Other than setting up our address and phone numbers on our site and major listings, is there anything else that should be top priority or concern? Thanks for your help here! Â Andrew
