First, I would do keyword research to look for some long-tail keywords. Then, I would do an analysis on who is ranking for those keywords. Then, I would start developing new internal pages on the site as well as new content targeting those keywords. Start sending out guest blog posts, press releases, and link bait as ways to gain new inbound links. Build these more specific keywords into your site. You should be on your way to higher rankings as long as your links are coming from quality websites. You can also work to improve your on-page SEO even further.

One suggestion that I would make is to make your keywords more localized ( i.e. long-tailed keyword) because I am sure that the broad keyword in the title tag is going to have you competing with the big dogs ( nike, adidias, etc.) on the web. It's like marketing 101, find your niche market and run with it. Also, you just missed a big opportunity with the Masters tournament going on in Augusta. I would have thrown some Master's content on my website leading up to the Masters, especially since you have the Rory connection going on. I would have maybe had a Master's special or a blog post about Masters participants who were born near your home base. You can also do a link analysis of your competitors and try to repeat what they have done.

hi
im looking for a more detailed answer. I have a good pr etc and links built but i am unsure what way to go forward. I am looking to establish is the reason for my site not ranking for some keywords, is it due to over optimization or do i need to build more brand links to dilute my keyword links?

Well, that's a broad question, so I guess you're also looking for a generic answer.

Why different pages rank in different countries?
Hi all, I have been investigating on why our log-in page is ranking for primary keyword, but not our homepage. I can see now homepage is ranking from our second important country. I wonder why and what causes to rank different pages in different countries for same keyword. Again the statistics does not vary much between these countries. Thnaks

Question: About Google's personalization of search results and its impact on monitoring ranking results
Given Google's personalization of search results for anyone who's logged into a Google property, how realistic and how actually meaningful/worthwhile is it to monitor one's ranking results for any keyword term these days?

Is user engagement a ranking signal?
Read something about user engagement might be a signal that Google uses, along with links and on-site optimisation, to decide if a search result goes up or down. What should I believe and what are the developments in this field?

W3C Validation: How Important is This to Ranking
Hi, I'm currently working with a developer who is trying to tell me that validation errors and warnings are of little to no importance in a website's SERP. In the past, whenever I've had a site that was experiencing problems ranking for a keyword terms, this was one of the first places we'd look. Is this still a relatively important component in getting a site to rank?

Loss of 1,000 links has negatively affecting rankings
Hey there, One of the clients we're working with has lost about 1,000 or so backlinks over the last two or three months - mainly old article and directory links - and it has massively affected the site's search rankings. The site was ranking for pretty much all of its keywords in prominent positions on Google (mostly first page) but has now seen positions dive to 50, 90 and even outside of the top 100. Is there any immediate action we can put into place to help restore our rankings?

Google.uk rankings plummet, .com improves. What to do?
Hey Guys, Seems so much has changed with international SEO I'm not sure what to do with our site. We have a huge site with many country level landing pages that perform very well on google.com searches (IE; keyword + Jamaica) etc. We are not using a .co.uk version of our site and now our rankings have plummeted in the UK. Should we just make a .co.uk with similar (or the exact same content) or is there some newer strategy to follow?

Monthly Searches in Rankings Tab
Hi everyone, I'm pretty new to SEOMoz, so my apologies if this is a very obvious question. I'm trying to find out how to do a report that shows both the ranking of my keywords as well as the monthly searches in Google or the other search engines. Is there an option for this? Thanks in advance!
