To develop an effective strategy for a local site, it's crucial to focus on key elements such as local SEO, targeted content, and community engagement. Start by optimizing for location-based keywords to improve visibility in local search results. Ensure your site is mobile-friendly and provides a seamless user experience, as most local searches are done on mobile devices. Incorporate local backlinks and business listings to boost credibility, and engage with local audiences through relevant content, social media, and partnerships. Tracking performance with analytics will help refine the strategy over time, ensuring it remains aligned with both local market trends and customer needs.

To rank it locally, focus on optimizing for video production services in LA. So, update your Google Business Profile with relevant details about video services, for example, “business video production in Los Angeles” or “video ads for LA companies.” Encourage satisfied clients to leave reviews to boost trust and visibility; you could offer something in return, like a discount on their next order.
On-page, target keywords like “Los Angeles video ads” in meta descriptions, headers, and content. Use schema markup for video production services to improve local search relevance.
I think creating localized content is a good way to go; blog posts or case studies showcasing the impact of your video work in LA. For example, a post titled “How Video Ads Increased Brand Awareness for LA Businesses” can target local queries.
Also, build local backlinks by partnering with local marketing agencies or business blogs. Collaborating on a video project with a well-known LA business can boost your site’s authority.

Yes, we think that one of the best ways to get any businesses onto page one of Google, is to publish "ever green content marketing"- make sure the work follows Google E-EAT- and make it 3,000 words plus, but, very, very well written. Ask experts to also help write it, then this will help improve the organic SEO, it may even draw in white hat, good quality do-follow links. Does this help? have a look at our site at Walsh & Partners for more advice.

Footer backlink for/to Web Design Agency
I read some old (10+ years) information on whether footer backlinks from the websites that design agencies build are seen as spammy and potentially cause a negative effect. We have over 150 websites that we have built over the last few years, all with sitewide footer backlinks back to our homepage (designed and managed by COMPANY NAME). Semrush flags some of the links as potential spammy links. What are the current thoughts on this type of footer backlink? Are we better to have 1 dofollow backlink and the rest of the website nofollow from each domain?

Backlinks on Moz not on Google Search Console
Moz is showing thousands of backlinks to my site that are not showing up on Google Search Console - which is good because those links were created by some spammer in Pakistan somewhere. I haven't yet submitted a disavow report to Google of well over 10K links because the list keeps growing every day with new backlinks that have been rerouted to a 404 page. I have asked Google to clarify and they put my question on their forum for an answer, which I'm still waiting for - so I thought I'd try my luck here. My question... If Moz does not match Google Search Console, and backlinks are important to results, how valid is the ranking that Moz creates to let me know how I'm doing in this competition and if I'm improving or not. If the goal is to get Google to pay attention and I use Moz to help me figure out how to do this, how can I do that if the backlink information isn't the same - by literally over 10 000 backlinks created by some spammer doing odd things... They've included the url from their deleted profile on my site with 100s of other urls, including Moz.com and are posting them everywhere with their preferred anchor text. Moz ranking considers the thousands of spam backlinks I can't get rid of and Google ignores them or disavows them. So isn't the rankings, data, and graphs apples and bananas? How can I know what my site's strength really is and if I'm improving or not if the data doesn't match? Complete SEO Novice Shannon Peel

National services provider and localized SEO (no physical stores)
Doing work for a telecom provider who operates in over 25 states. They are not trying to drive traffic to their brick-and-mortar stores. They want their marketing website to show products/services/pricing dynamically when a user enters their zip code. Previously, we could not show this until the shopper was already in the purchase flow that began with their serviceable address. They want to move these location-based details more forward in the shopping experience. They would likely have a "default" zip and set of services/pricing displaying until a user changes their location. My question is how does Google treat local SEO on a site where all location-targeted content is dynamic? Will the website suffer in localized search, when a shopper, say, in Colorado, wants to search for Internet providers? Is it better to have distinct landing pages for each territory with services/pricing?

What do you when the wrong site links to you?
In doing research of our backlink profile, I've found a couple dozen of links from off-topic websites linking to us. You see, our domain is Voices.com and tends to scoop up links from unrelated sites that are clearly trying to link to another site such as evp-voices.com or areavoices.com or dozens of others. What would you do? Ask the webmaster to remove them because they are completely unrelated? Or would you keep them if you believed they aren't causing any harm?

Guest posts on sites you buy advertising with?
What are your thoughts about the following scenarios. Scenario 1: You purchased a banner ad on a site for $50. Then you notice that the site accepts guest posts and you contribute a guest article which has a followed link. Scenario 2: You pitch a guest post to a blog and they say sure but first pay us $50. You say, I can't pay for links but how about I buy an ad spot for $50 instead in appreciation of you reviewing by submission. Scenario 3: You pitch a guest post to a blog and they say sure but it will cost $50 to be published. You say sure and pay them. Which of these would go against Google's guidelines and be considered a paid link? It seems like they are all buying links to a different degree, but they would all be indistinguishable to Google.
