Broken links and Angular.js technology
-
I generated a report for a potential client and there were a few things wrong, including broken links (404 error).
I suggested to fix them and here's what he replied:
The site uses a technology called Angular.js. It outputs results using the 'item.url' in the URL. It is just a placer in a code loop that is outputted correctly by the browser to point to correct link. We use Angular.js because it allows us to have the filtering system on overview pages like the dining tables page.Angular.js is a Google technology – and they host a full explanation about how to use it at http://angularjs.orgAs backup, we also output Angular.js links in a standard form (which appears further down the page when looking at the source code). As it's a relatively new technology (since 2009), it is also evolving. If there's a better way of delivering SEO using angular.js it'd be great to hear about it.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Well, I am not going to lie, that I haven't heard about Angular.js, so I'm not sure how to answer this. Please adviseWarmly,Dominica

New link explorer
I was checking this new tool which is really cool by the way and was wondering if I can outrank big guys with just content. I have a Domain authority of 28 with a spam score of 28 % Can I outrank with amazing content a site that hase a domain authority of 50 and a spam score of 1 % ? Should I ask for all my bad links to be removed so that my spam score goes down or doesn't it matter anymore those days and what matters is good content, link just don't count anymore ? Thank you,

Link Spring Clean
Hey, Based on the most up to date thinking - what's the best way to approach a link spring clean? We've got a site with a large amount of links (a few of which look a bit spammy - SEO directories etc) Also, the brand changed it's name and URL a while back so there are directory/web citations using the old URL and sometimes the old name. The old URL is 301'd but I'm thinking (especially in terms of local SEO) these citations with differnt business names/numbers/web addresses could be particularly harmful? Cheers!

Footer sitewide links
Here's a question - does having a "website designed by" reference in the footer of every page of one of your clients help or hurt? I have a major university .edu that I designed a site for one of their departments and it is just about to launch and they've allowed me to put a reference in the footer. I've had pretty good luck with this on my other clients' sites, but didn't know if this practice is seen as spammy. Thanks
