Webmaster Tools Keyword Rankings Explanation
-
While analyzing the Google Webmaster, I found several keywords that are ranked in the top 10 search results with words such as: they, was, mai, and chiang.
(For example:they)After reviewing the top pages shown under the keyword "they", I did not find the keyword or its variant "them" repeated in the content of the page. I am not sure why "they" is ranking so high and of course, the word "they' is not effective for finding significant content.
Also word such as Chiang Mai are never used separately but the two words are ranking far apart from each other. Mai is ranked at 5 and chiang is ranked at 11. I would think that the rankings would be very close together since the two words are usually used in conjunction with one another.
Can anyone explain the reason this may be happening please?

Can you run those searches in google and get your result to show? I've seen things where images results show in the main SERP but Webmaster Tools is counting as "organic" (not image) but it was an image with a weird/random filename.
I'd try to replicate the result, see what's ranking there (image/webpage etc) and see if there's some weird occurrence of the keywords. But images would be my first guess.

KEYWORDS: How can I find keywords to target now that the majority of searches have been hidden from keyword planner?
Hello Community, I am not an expert and I need some advice. So thank you for your time 🙂 I read that Google is not showing the same amount of search volume data it was showing before (like up until 2-3 weeks ago, after the NSA scandal) and that now it's changed the way we should look at which keyword groups to target since we dont know anymore how many people actually searched for these terms. Say I want to start a new site around the topic "french chocolate" (just joking, but say I want to). How do I find out today which is the most searched term in that keyword group/cluster? I mean this in terms of volume of searches. Please help, I need some guidance on how to approach my content developmente strategy from now on, I always heavily relied on keywords and that got me awesome results in less than a year! Thank you again for your time Best

My question is; "How can you still report about rankings, but without the risk that your customer sees total different results?" Software we use At the moment we use Rank Tracker from Link Assistant.

Keyword Strategy
I am working with a company that has had a few "SEO Experts" work on it's site over the last year. The strategy these "experts" used to generate keywords is to optimize on many general keywords and, when mixed all together, make the keywords they are optimizing against. For example, they did photo printing. They would optimize for the keywords: photo prints printing print photographs photography 4x6 cheap .... Maybe I am missing something, but I have never seen a keyword list managed this way... is this "normal"? Is this something "new" I am missing? Any advice or strategy tips on this one? Thanks in advance!

Why has my places ranking dropped off google?
I've recently worked for a company who up untill 3 weeks ago have shown up in the google places ranked at number 1 for the following key phrases. First Aid Training in Cornwall
Industry News | | it-ok
First Aid Courses in Cornwall
Health and Safety Training in Cornwall as well as several more... However over the past 3 weeks they have gradually dropped out of the places listing all together, and I'm struggling to understand why this might be. Yesterday I released a new website for them which has had a lot more SEO input in to the site, is this likely to have an affect on the places ranking? the website is www.insafehandstraining.com Any answers would be very appreciated.0 -
