How to make sense of data for this keyword (Moz Keyword vs. Google KW Planner)
-
The keyword "auto immune disorder" has an avg monthly (local/US) search of 880 in Google KW Planner with "low" competition
In Moz, the same keyword has an avg monthly (local/US) search of 5 with a KW difficulty of 71%.
I realize that the competition in Google KWP is based on ads, but is there a discrepancy when the search volume is so different in Google vs. Moz/Bing?
Based on the above data, it seems like it would make sense to do a Google Adword (high search volume, low competition) instead of trying to rank organically...am I on the right track here?
Thanks!

Hi Sarah,
My gut tells me the truth is a combination of the two tools. It does look like a highly competitive keyword from an organic point of view. The top 3 ranking results are the National Institute of Health and Wikipedia - all of which would be hard to beat.
But it's not a highly commercial term - so I bet the CPC would be lower for PPC than many other comparative terms.
That said, you can still win with a long-tail SEO strategy. It does require work and effort. But the idea is you would create lots of high quality content around this keyword theme and try to rank for potentially 100s of variations and similarly themed content. This strategy, when done with sincere effort, often succeed against the most competitive of terms.
That said, it does require a lot of time and effort and energy. If you're looking for quick results, PPC may be the way to go for you. Keep in mind as soon as you stop paying for PPC, the returns stop immediately, while good content can drive traffic for years after the initial investment. (if it sounds like I'm preaching, I'm really not - I actually run PPC ads all the time when appropriate)
Hope this helps! Best of luck.

Has anyone had to deal with Moz crawl issues on their Zendesk support site?
If so - how did you end up resolving them? For instance we have 85 "temporary redirect" errors from our Zendesk support site in our crawl error report and we don't have access to the robots.txt file through Zendesk.

Performed a Moz Crawl Test - Says I have 107 External Links on Homepage??
Hello Mozzers! Exactly at the title suggests, I performed a crawl test on one our sites and the report says we have 107 external links on the homepage and another 34 on one of our internal category pages. On both of these pages I can only find 7 external links, anyone know why the crawl test is saying this? And if Moz is finding these external links could google be doing the same and punishing our site for the high number of external links? Any response appreciated! Richard

Conversion tracking within Moz reports?
Hey guys, Quick question and apologies if this has been asked before, but is there an option within MOZ reporting (Pro) that allows you to focus on conversions for your clients? I'm finding rankings to be a very poor indicator of success. I'd much rather focus on conversions, and present this information to the client within my reports. Thanks

Keyword Rankings vs Rank Tracker
Hello, I have a question, what is the difference between these tools? I thought both are the same, just that you can see you competitors ranks on the keyword rankings... The keyword rankings tool is telling me that my competitor is ranking in some keywords.. If I go to the rank tracker tool and type the keyword and competitor url it gives me that that keyword is not in the top 50, when keyword ranking is giving me position #3 I am using in both the same Search Engine with the same country (Google Mexico) Thank you

Connect to Google Analytics problem (Moz Analytics)
Hello - I recently received the Beta invite to Moz Analytics (very excited). I set up the campaign for our primary site and entered our Google Analytics profile - however, Moz does not seem to accept the profile when I click the "Save" button. All of our profiles are listed w/in the drop-down menu, but after selecting the profile we wish to link/connect to - nothing happens. So we're not receiving any stats w/in Moz from our GA acct. Please help. I'm really anxious to begin delving into Moz Analytics! Thanks
