Hello has anyone had any any issues with the Yoast local plugin not accepting the license when the WP install is in subfolder. Or any license issues with the plugin?

Any SEO benefits of adding a Glossary to our website?

Hi all, I manage a website for a software company. Many terms can be quite tricky so it would be nice to add a Glossary page. Other than that, I have 2 questions: 1. What would be the SEO benefits? 2. Target: blank. Does it make an SEO difference?

I've notice many sites MOZ included no longer use the target: blank attribute. I think that's what it's called. Basically when a link on your site opens a new tab in the browser as opposed to replacing the browser window you are in. Given that MOZ think of everything, I would love to hear opinions on this.

Does Switching Web Hosts Hurt SEO?

A few months ago, my site was shut down by BlueHost because of performance issues, so I moved it to WP Engine, and cleaned up most of the plug-ins. Since then, my search engine traffic has decreased over 50%. Does switching web hosts hurt SEO? Thanks!

Free Joomla SEO Extension?

Hi all -- all along, I have used Tag Meta as a super simple Joomla extension to manage page titles. The most recent Joomla site I manage is using K2. The Tag Meta extension will install, but something with K2 is overriding the page titles that I put in. Thus, I am simply looking for a free (if at all possible) Joomla extension that will allow me to enter unique page titles for each page of the site without changing the Joomla page title of each page. Or, if anyone has had the same problem, I'm looking for a solution to make Tag Meta and K2 play nice. Any suggestions?

Pagination and SEO: How do I fix it during search parameters?

Today, I have watched very interesting video on YouTube about Pagination and SEO. I have implemented pagination with rel="next" and rel="prev" on my paginated page. There is simple question from my side. Can I remove NOINDEX FOLLOW attribute from paginated page or not? I have big confusion & issues when paginated URLs contain search parameters. Wordpress Problems.. SEO-Yoast is Toast?

Hello; I have installed the WP Yoast Widget in my Blog, and 2 weeks, after my issues went away, they came back X's 300! lol So I uninstalled it, and my issues obviously got worse, and then I re-activated, and reset everything, and still got the 300+ issues. Is there a secondary plug in you would suggest, to run at the same time as Yoats, or theat will fix all issues? Ever think of making an SEOmoz Widget for WP since it is gaining so much popularity?? Site forwarding - seo friendly or not?

Recently i decided to change my domain name - and although i have written several useful and working .htacess files with 301 redirects, this one became more complicated by the fact that I went through TWO domain name changes, before settling on the second one. Having seen some issues with the browser not being able to interpret correctly the .htaccess file, i temporarily suspended the .htaccess file, and opted instead for site forwarding. I don't know the mechanics behind site forwarding, or whether it is seo friendly or just a method for ip addressing, a sort of pseudo domain name server record change.
I let it lie for a few weeks, until the dust settled, and yesterday put back the basic .htaccess file, with a 301 redirect, which directs the original domain name to be forwarded to the new one ( also it has a conditional in place to solve canonical issues). It works fine. But right now i am not seeing the link juice, the domain age, the domain page rank that it has. It has gone to zero, when it used to be three, sometimes four. I also made the change of address using webmaster tools. How long ( forever?) will it take to see my old page rank come back, even if it loses 10% from the change? And does site forwarding help or hinder seo ranking?

What are SEO factors in re-doing a website?

Most of my work now involves converting older websites to CMS-based sites (in Wordpress) and I'm wondering about best practices here. If I create a "dev" or "sandbox" directory for my development work how do I keep the pages from being indexed while I am working on the new site? Can I "noindex" a directory? What do I do with the old html files when the new site goes live? I'm assuming I will do a 301 redirect from domain.com/index.html to the new domain.com/, and also on all of the inner pages that have equivalent pages in the new site. But there will be a lot of old files left that have no equal in the new site. Do I just delete these, or noindex nofollw them?
