Page in html and Wp as blog
-
Hello, i have a website in html5 and recently i did a new folder in my site: www.site.com/blog for example, and there i installed Wordpress.
I would like to know if that is correct, because 1 have 2 sites different and maybe i had that install WP in blog.site.com ?
Must i add www.site.com/blog in WMT?
Thanks for all.

Sorry, Juan Carlos, I'm still not clear on the differences between the 2 sections of the sites.
You say "The blog will be to do post about anything (tech, fashion, beauty, etc..) ... but the website don't talk about that".
Then you say: "The blog is made to generate traffic from google and 1 way to get more sales in my site."
If the blog isn't specifically about the same topics and targeted at the same web visitors as the html site, then it's not going to help get more sales and should be completely separate. It sounds to me like you're doing a general blog, but hope it will generate traffic for the specific sales site. This almost never works, as having a lot of off-topic content on the blog will confuse the search engines about what the sales site is about. It will also be attracting visitors that aren't interested in your site's products, which is a waste.
My suggestion would be to have the blog completely separate, and then when you do write a post that actually is about something the html site sells, link to the page about that product.
Alternatively, (and this would be far stronger for SEO of the sales site) leave the blog where it is and limit the blog topics mostly to things that relate directly to the products you are selling.
Make sense?

Hi Paul, the blog is in Wordpress and the general website in html 100%. The blog will be to do post about anything (tech, fashion, beauty, etc..) and to talk about tips, advices, etc.. but the website don't talk about that, the blog is a complement. The blog is made to generate traffic from google and 1 way to get more sales in my site.
Do am i in the correct way?
PD: I would like to add my blog to WMT to get more exactly estadistics from there.

Is the blog an integral part of the html website, Juan Carlos? By that, I mean - do they serve the same audience? Does the blog support the purpose of the html site? Are they about the same topics and designed to enhance the value of each other? If so, having the blog as a subdirectory of the html site is exactly the correct approach.
If, on the other hand, you simply want to have another website (the blog) in the same hosting account as the html site, and they're about different things, then you should keep them completely separate. Best way is to set the blog up as a completely separate site on your hosting account. At the very least, setting it as a subdomain (blogname.yoursite.com) would be better, but best is still to separate them completely with a new domain name for the blog.
As far as adding site.com/blog to Webmaster Tools. that's only necessary if you wish to designate the /blog folder as targeted at a different country than the main site. (Many sites use this method to have a subsite specially targeted for a different country or language for example).
Bottom line - if the html site and blog are on the same topic and designed to help each other, your setup is correct. If the blog targets different topics and audience, you need to separate it from the other site.
Does that make sense?
Paul

How would you build links to this page?
Hi i have ecommerce store and currently we are looking to build links to category pages like: http://www.theiconic.com.au/womens-clothing-dresses-party-dresses/ What are some natural ways to build links to a page like this? Our SEO agency has done guest posting and forums but these are not natural link building methods and against Google policy. Any suggestions on how to build natural links to these pages? Cheers.

Which is the best option for these pages?
Hi Guys, We have product pages on our site which have duplicate content, the search volume for people searching for these products is very, very small. Also if we add unique content, we could face keyword cannibalisation issues with category/sub-category pages. Now based on proper SEO best practice we should add rel canonical tags from these product pages to the next relevant page. Pros Can rank for product oriented keywords but search volume is very small. Any link equity to these pages passed due to the rel canonical tag would be very small, as these pages barely get any links. Cons Time and effort involved in adding rel canonical tags. Even if we do add rel canonical tags, if Google doesn't deem them relevant then they might ignore causing duplicate content issues. Time and effort involved in making all the content unique - not really worth it - again very minimal searchers. Plus if we do make it unique, then we face keyword cannibalisation issues. -- What do you think would be the optimal solution to this? I'm thinking just implementing a: Across all these product based pages. Keen to hear thoughts? Cheers.

Too many on page links
Hi I know previously it was recommended to stick to under 100 links on the page, but I've run a crawl and mine are over this now with 130+ How important is this now? I've read a few articles to say it's not as crucial as before. Thanks!

Would it work to place H1 (or important page keywords) at the top of your page in HTML and move lower on page with CSS?
I understand that the H1 tag is no longer heavily correlated with stronger ranking signals but it is more important that Keywords or keyphrases are at the top of a page. My question is, if I just put my important keyword (or H1) toward the top of my page in the HTML and move it towards the middle/lower portion with css position elements, will this still be viewed by Googlebot as important keywords toward the top of my page? Keywords going to Subdomain instead of targeted page(general landing page)
Why are some of my keywords going to subdomains instead of the more general/targeted landing page. For example, on my ecommerce website, the keyword 'tempurpedic' is directing to the subdomain URL of a specific tempurpedic product page instead of the general landing page. The product has a page authority of 15 and the Tempurpedic landing pages with all the products has an authority of 31. I have also noticed that my 'furniture stores in houston' keyword directs to my "occasional tables" URL! instead of a the much more targeted homepage. Is there something I am missing here?

"No index" page still shows in search results and paginated pages shows page 2 in results
I have "no index, follow" on some pages, which I set 2 weeks ago. Today I see one of these pages showing in Google Search Results. I am using rel=next prev on pages, yet Page 2 of a string of pages showed up in results before Page 1. What could be the issue?

Please help with page
We used to use this page http://www.discountbannerprinting.co.uk/banners/vinyl-pvc-banners.html to rank for the words vinyl banner and PVC banner but we have tried to focus the page only on PVC banners and move the vinyl banners word to http://www.discountbannerprinting.co.uk/ yet for some reason even though they have both been spidered google has now chosen to rank this page http://www.discountbannerprinting.co.uk/stickers/vinyl-stickers.html for the vinyl banner words- how do I stop this from happening I thought the home page would be powerful enough to rank for the word with a title inclusion and a spread of the word on the page. Also if anyone can give their opinion on why they thinkhttp://www.discountbannerprinting.co.uk/banners/vinyl-pvc-banners.html does not rank very well I would be truly appreciative.
