What am I missing?
-
So I've been killing myself with learning seo. My site has every type of markup and I feel that I have run out of ways to optimize my site. If anyone has any recommendations, it would be enormously appreciated.

Get the demo version of screaming frog, run a crawl and you'll find nearly everything I mentioned above.
-
Oh wow okay, I'll get right on this. I didn't know that about the meta keywords. Thank you very much. Is there anything else that you noticed? Can you tell me any of the pages that has two canoicals? I can't seem to find one.
Again, thank you.
-
*** Your canonical links are busted. This is probably doing a lot of harm - make this priority #1.**
*** Some of your pages have TWO canonicals as well - and at least one of those is busted in each case, too. **
-
Meta keywords are (usually) a negative ranking factor, especially when repeated or duplicate across many pages. I would suggest removing all (or the vast majority) of these.
-
Some pages have two H1 tags and often duplicate H1s.
-
You have a parameter "devicelock" that isn't really working the way you would want. You also don't have a robots.txt file telling Google & googlebot mobile which version of each page you want them to index.
-
There are broken links all over the site including to pages such as:
http://www.j-26.com/phone/“http://www.j-26.com/contact-us.html”
This problem with quotes is the same one you have in canonicals - major issues there.

Do I miss traffic (thus, page value) by using the GWMT Parameter Handling Tool?
I'm working through duplicate content issues. The tracking code or the session id in the URL is being recognized as a different page than the original. Example: www.example.com is dup content to www.example.com?_nk=x&ad=y&_ga=z, which is tied to a marketing campaign If my setup in the URL parameter tool is set to: Effect = None Crawl = Representative URL, then do I: 1. Miss all the traffic being driven to the ?_nk page?
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | johnnybgunn
2. With a Rep URL, there still would be two indexed listings: the .com & the .com?_nk...right? Neither is good. Redirects of all the URLs is not an option b/c there are hundreds of these that would need to be redirected. And I also don't want to slow down page load time with excessive redirects, which has been the case when adding 100+ redirects for the recent website migration we did.0 -
DeepCrawl Calls Incomplete Open Graph Tags and Missing Twitter Cards An Issue. How important is this?
Hi, Let me first say that I really like the tool DeepCrawl. So, not busting on them. More like I'm interested in the relative importance of two items they call as "Issues." Those items are "Incomplete Open Graph Tags" and "No Valid Twitter Cards." They call this out on every page. To define it a bit further, I'm interested in the importance as it relates to organic search.I'm also interested in there's some basic functionality we may have missed in our Share42 implementation. To me, it looks like the social sharing buttons work. Also, we use Share42 social sharing buttons, which are quite functional. If it would help, I could private message you an example url. Thanks! Best... Mike

I think that Google incorrectly flagged my href lang return tags as missing. What do I do?
Hi there SEOs and other respected online marketing enthusiasts! Since a short while Google Webmaster Tools is flagging my href lang return tags as missing. However, these tags are available in the html and there should be no issue whatsoever. I often see other bogus flags raised by Google but this one is bothering us in particular. This is the code that we use for all our 18 languages: All pages link to all other languages variables. Is there something I'm missing? Or is it just an error on Google's site - and if so, how do I flag it as fixed? href lang no return tag incorrectly error in webmaster tools

Organic search traffic dropped 40% - what am I missing?
Have a client (ecommerce site with 1,000+ pages) who recently switched to OpenCart from another cart. Their organic search traffic (from Google, Yahoo, and Bing) dropped roughly 40%. Unfortunately, we weren't involved with the site before, so we can only rely on the wayback machine to compare previous to present. I've checked all the common causes of traffic drops and so far I mostly know what's probably not causing the issue. Any suggestions? Some URLs are the same and the rest 301 redirect (note that many of the pages were 404 until a couple weeks after the switch when the client implemented more 301 redirects) They've got an XML sitemap and are well-indexed. The traffic drops hit pretty much across the site, they are not specific to a few pages. The traffic drops are not specific to any one country or language. Traffic drops hit mobile, tablet, and desktop I've done a full site crawl, only 1 404 page and no other significant issues. Site crawl didn't find any pages blocked by nofollow, no index, robots.txt Canonical URLs are good Site has about 20K pages indexed They have some bad backlinks, but I don't think it's backlink-related because Google, Yahoo, and Bing have all dropped. I'm comparing on-page optimization for select pages before and after, and not finding a lot of differences. It does appear that they implemented Schema.org when they launched the new site. Page load speed is good I feel there must be a pretty basic issue here for Google, Yahoo, and Bing to all drop off, but so far I haven't found it. What am I missing?

Novice Question - Can Browsers realistically distinguish words within concatenated strings e.g. text55fun or should one use text-55-fun? What about foreign languages especially more obscure ones like Finnish which Google Translate often miss-translates?
I am attempting to understand what is realistically possible within Google, Yahoo and Bing as they search websites for KeyWords. Technically my understanding is that they should be able to distinguish common words within concatenated strings, although there can be confusion between word boundaries when ambiguity is involved. So in the simple example of text55fun, do search engines actually distinguish text, 55 and fun separately? There are practical processing, databased and algorithm limitations that might turn a technically possible solution into a unrealistic one at a commercial scale. What about more ambiguous strings like stringsstrummingstrongly would that be parsed as string s strummings trongly or strings strummings trongly or strings strumming strongly? Does one need to use dashes or underscores to make it unambiguous to the search engine? My guess is that the engine would recognize the dash or space and better understand the word boundaries yet ignore the dash or underscore from an overall concatenated string perspective. Thanks in advance to whoever can provide any insight to an old coder who is new to this field.

Trying to fill in the missing gaps
The missing gaps are optimisation opportunities I have missed with my site.
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | Hughescov
I have managed to optimise the site a great deal from what it was, with a new site design and better architecture and focusing on all the on page SEO.
The only problem being it doesn't seem to be an easy market to create links through or find interesting places to guest post or interact on blogs. The site is https://perco.co.uk I would be grateful if anyone could give me an overview on the site and their thoughts? Cheers0 -
Have I missed anthing On this website?
Hello SEO MOzzers, I am today wanting your feedback on a site that I recently went live with. My Google rankings for the main keywords are doing very well considering the site has been live for 3 weeks now. I of course have a list of items that i'm still working on, completing meta description tags, title tags, adding copy content to category pages, updating h1 tags, working on our backlinking campaign, etc. Is there anthing any of you SEO Mozzers can see that I may have missed? the web domain is www.carbodypanels4u.co.uk Keywords "body Panels"
