Site "Internal" Search Full-Text Indexing vs. Manual Tagging
-
I’m looking for recommendations on how to power site search in an efficient way. Ideally, I would like to get recommendations on platforms, tools, trends, technology and resources. This discussion does not really refer to SEO or site search optimization. It is more related to the technology used to power site search. I would like to get an idea on the differences between full-text indexing site search and site search that requires manual tagging.

as your website has more pages, manual taggin becomes more difficult and problematic. Especialy if you have multiple people doing it.
And on most websites the queries visitors enter are not very similar. (google has new queries constantly)
Thus find a search provider (Google can do that for you) to help site search!

Community Discussion - Voice Search: A Future to be Shaped
Voice search represents a new challenge for SEOs, certainly, but it may also outline some pretty cool opportunities. In Purna Virji's post about the subject, there's an interesting line of thought raised in the comments: voice search reacting to differences in accent and mispronunciations, and taking those things into account for optimization. Let's just take a minute and think about all the wild possibilities in a hypothetical world where voice search is more prevalent than text queries. Release your imagination from the confines of current reality. cue Twilight Zone music

Length of title tag
I have read that a title tag should be no more than 55 characters. I have created a website with a long ulr that contains 33 characters, including the http://www. I have two questions: 1. Does the suggested number of characters include the http//.... 2. If so, is it best then to set up the url to read without the http://. I have a wordpress website. Thanks again ( and I appreciated the previous fast response)

How Popular is Google Image Search?
Are there any stats on the volume of searches through Google's Image Search? My assumption is that more users are turning to image search to shop but I haven't found any supporting data. I know that click-throughs to site have fallen after Google's recent changes to the UI but still just interested in initial search volume.

Do you have any advice? Many Thanks!

YouTube, Closed Captions and Search
Hey team, Just wondering if there's anyone out there that may have dabbled with YouTube closed captions and if having them has any effect at all on search results. My theory (unfounded) is that perhaps these files can be crawled (or viewed) by crawlers and/or given priority in search due to having indexible content which defines the content within the clip - which otherwise wouldn't have been known. Now, I have no evidence that this may be the case but wondering if anyone out there may have seen or read something about it. Seems like kind of a cool thing for SE's to do to help promote accessibility across teh web. Thanks guys.
