How to Avoid Duplicate Page Content errors when using Wordpress Categories & Tags?

I get a lot of duplicate page errors on my crawl diagnostics reports from 'categories' and 'tags' on my wordpress sites.
The post is 1x link and then the content is 'duplicated' on the 'category' or 'tag' that is added to the page. Should I exclude the tags and categories from my sitemap or are these issues not that important?

Hi Stacey, I have a lot of Wordpress Sites and there is not "the one solution" 4all, but in general I use categories (dont matter how many for a post, it wont exist more than one time).
I use Tags, but with the YOAST Plugin I make them noindex, and (because it wouldn't be usefull for noindex pages) they aren't in a sitemap.
Just kick them out of a sitemap wouldn't bring that much affect, when the post links to the tags.There are possibilities to use both and don't change anything. Depends on how many posts you have per tag, if you display 100% of the post in a tag or only a few sentences, maybe a complete other description. Thatswhy there is no "one solution 4 all" but that one is a good solution in many (i guess most) cases.

Hi all, There is something difficult to trace that is causing duplicate content that is related to categories and tags i.e. https://example.com/contact Associated Pages https://example.com/tags/business https://example.com/taxonomy/term/41 example 2 https://example.com/category/example-category-1 Associated Pages https://example.com/category/occupiers-liability example 3 https://example.com/tags/test https://example.com/tags/test-2 Above two pages display same content (maybe due to similar posts feature) My question here is: Is this caused by Drupal website misconfiguration (or one of its modules) since website uses similar posts feature or it's something else. Duplicate content for example.com/index.php issue has been solved by redirects. Should something similar be done in case of tags / categories? Duplicate content - Product Categories
Dears, I've use "Site Crawl" tool to find any SEO warnings, and I found 991 duplicated content. The problem is that the pages are not duplicated its all products category pages, please check this exmaple: This page: https://www.jobedu.com/en/shop/category/prints/Postcards/na/all-colors/all-size and this page: https://www.jobedu.com/en/shop/category/Accessories/keychain/na/all-colors/all-size It said its duplicated, and it's 991 pages! Domain and Page authority dropped on home page
My two strongest links did not show up in the latest Open Site Explorer run. Business.com and BOTW.com...Linking domains went from 21 to 15. Domain dropped 3 pts and Page authority dropped 3 pts I believe. Is there a function in SEOmoz.org that lets you track your domain scores over time? Thanks, Boo

What do you use for site audit
What tools do you use for conducting a site audit? I need to do an audit on a site and the seomoz web crawler and on page optimization will takes days if not a full week to return any results. In past Ive used other tools that I could run on the fly and they would return broken links, missing htags, keyword density, server information and more. Curious as to what you all use and what you may recommend to use in conjunction with the moz tools.
