Just Discovered Links not appearing in main index
-
Hi
Around October, November (and ongoing since then) we had some links appear in the "just discovered" index of OSE, and yet they've never made it into the main list of domains linking to the website.
We have amassed quite a few links from various domains that seem to get picked up in "Just Discovered", but not by the standard list of links to our site
Is there any reason for this?

There are a few different things going on here. Just discovered links are separate from the main OSE index, "This report is driven by a new SEOmoz index that is independent from the Mozscape index, and is populated with URLs that are shared on Twitter," from: http://moz.com/blog/announcing-the-just-discovered-links-report, and is a function of the Moz Fresh Web Explorer. For those links to then go into OSE they have to be added to the overall index and processed as part of the next update. With both tools though you're able to interact quickly with new links, while accomplishing long term planning with OSE and its competitor comparison features. Here's the location of the update schedule: http://moz.com/products/api/updates
And Rand's latest Q&A about what the last update (Jan 27) accomplished: http://moz.com/community/q/have-questions-about-the-jan-27th-mozscape-index-update-get-answers-here
As long as your links from just discovered get crawled and recorded by OSE, eventually they'll show up. Cheers!

Why are Internal Equity-Passing Links so low?
I am looking at "Internal Equity-Passing Links" for my website in the competitor link metrics tab of OSE, and it says that my website only has 7 internal links on the site. I know that I have more internal links that this, so I am wondering why this number is so low. Does anyone know where the discrepancy is coming from? Is the Moz crawler unable to access these? I appreciate any insights you can provide.

Low Internal Equity-Passing Links: Open Ste Explorer Issue
Does anyone know why Open Site Explorer shows so few Internal Equity Passing Links? When a page is part of the main navigation of a website and the website has over 3500 pages indexed in Google with high DA's why would the Open Site Explorer number be so low? I have run scans on other tools and see a much larger number than OSE reports. Thoughts? Has anyone else ever experienced that?

How does spammy linked site have zero spam score?
I came across a law firm site with hundreds of horrible spam links to it. Of the 3330 links, all but 231 links have anchor text that has to do with "jordan 11s for sale". I'm trying to see how useful the moz spam score is, but clearly it's not reliable if this site has a score of zero. Many of the obviously spammy sites linking to it also have low to zero spam scores, although there are plenty in the 5-10 range. (see attached image). I also noticed that many sites were legit sites, but if you look at the source code, there's tons of hidden spam links in the code (e.g., www.chickasawgardens.net) Why would this site have a zero spam score? If you're curious, put it into open site explorer and have a look. It's a law firm based in Pennsylvania, most anchor text has to do with jordan sneakers and most links are foreign: penn-criminallawyers.com Is the spam score too lenient? Is the moz tool unable to find spam links coming from legitimate sites with hidden spam links? DrokMbP

Crawling and Links - Showing Links
Hello I have a campaign in Moz that shows a new site as having no domain authority and no links. The site does have links to it, but they don't show up on OSE. Does Moz count links in the comments section of blogs (or is this counted as social, when the commenting system is one that requires facebook login?) I know blog comments are not great for SEO, I just use them when the post/link is 100% genuinely relevant. The site does have actual links on websites not just comment links, so it isn't showing any type of link. What is the best way to see the links the site has? Thanks!

Moz & Other Sites Not Showing in Link Profile?
I'm curious to know why Moz, YouTube, G+ and some other links are not showing the OSE link profile as NOFOLLOW or DOFOLLOW for our website whiteboardcreations.com? When doing analysis, we see a lot of companies YouTube pages with their NF link and G+ page links and even see a lot of the Moz community members with their Profile pages showing the NF link or the DF links. I'm confused as to why OSE is not picking up any of our links from those respective sites. Any thoughts? Thank you in advance. - Patrick
