Search Analytics Vs Search Queries
-
I am completely stuck on one of my SEO accounts. In Search Queries (the OLD search), it is showing me that my client is ranking for keywords on pages that I know they are not ranking for. They are ranking for keywords in New Jersey when they are not New York. No where on the website do we say anything about New Jersey at all. So it makes absolutely no sense.
Then in Search Analytics, the data seems to be much more accurate. All the New Jersey keywords are gone. But then the clicks are all ZERO! Which I know is wrong because they are showing up in Google Analytics.
I have been at this for over a week now and I am racking my brain trying to figure out how to fix this. Anyone have any advice?

Hi,
Can you just confirm the language.
Search query - do you mean Google Webmaster tools/search console
Search analytics - are you using Google analytics?
I would expect most of the keywords data in GA to be missing due to not provided. Can you give me some more details?
Craig

I am trying to gain knowledge on search analytic's beta - I have observed alot of discrepancies in data and at this stage unsure of what it all means.
I have a large client who ranks for thousands of keywords - and they have lots of data missing for the keywords they have a low Clicks for. I am not sure but I think google may have cut off the depth at which they collect data for on large sites. That said it is intermittent and I see it randomly.
So still trying to get a clearer picture. I have also tried to find some articles on the exact differences - besides google statement "it is more accurate" - I cant find much. I do love the segmentation now. Sorry I can't assist - but if you find out, please let us know.

For my accounts there is some 30%+ difference between google search console and the data in analytics.
The only thing i can think of: Did you connect exactly the right profile? https or http? www. to non www?

How to optimize landing pages for local search?
I'm trying to understand how to optimize landing pages to appear in local search. For example, if someone in Chicago searches for "plumber", Yelp has a page "Top 10 Plumbers in Chicago." They are generating these pages for numerous business types and cities. I can't see anything on the page or metadata that indicates a geographic location or business type. What optimizations are they doing to get Google to know that it's a page for a specific city and type of business?

Which domain extension would benefit my SEO the most? Old vs New .com or .shoes
Having a keyword in a top domain extension like .com could benefit your SEO. Well I think it was like that.
Local SEO | | KnowHowww
So if you would sell cars and you had cars.com it could benefit. But is there something to say about the new extensions like .shoes.
Do they have the same impact or are they just not old enough? A domain like cars.com is probably registered since the beginning of the Internet so it carries more weight. I'm curious to hear your opinion on the matter. Thank you in advance,
kind regards, Eelco0 -
Why does Intelligent Personal Assistant (IPA) gives different results than a Google search for a very similar or identical query?
My client Dr. Harris ranks #1 in SERPs and Local results for many terms, including "hair transplant surgeon Denver" However, when I did a voice search w Siri ""find me a hair transplant surgeon in Denver" Siri said she could find no results. A similar search for a clinic returned 2 competitors, but not my client. How do I ensure we are served up in voice queries? This surgeon deserves it, he invented most of the technology in use in the world today.

Is using emoji's in meta descriptions a good or bad idea ? - I haven't seen it used much hence my query
Hello Mozzers, We need to redo some of our meta descriptions as our CTR's are not to good. I've noticed one of my competitors using emoji's which I personally think looks pretty good. They are using the Phone icon and ticks - as calls to action etc However, I can't see hardly anyone else using them on general serps ...so I am wondering , is it a bad idea ? thanks Pete

Does anyone have stats or know where I can find stats on searchers who use geolocated queries versus geomodified?
My client is a franchise business and they want their location landing pages to rank for every one of their 60 plus locations nationwide. They are performing extremely well for geomodified terms. The argument is that people rarely ever search using the city name. Are there stats to back up whether this claim is true, and if so, do you know where I can get a hold of such data (outside of searching in Keyword Planner... unless that's the answer!)

Local Search - Google Mobile Results (Web&App)
Hi, I have a client with multiple locations. One of the locations manager is searching for branded and non-branded keywords on his mobile phone and not able to locate the business (within the parking lot of the location). Our ranking reports via a local search platform and manual checks indicate the location is actually ranking well. and we're seeing progress in GA. Has anyone deal with something like this before? This is a location that recently opened to the public. The concern is around mobile web and app results. I'm looking for some guidance around how to approach the situation. I'm sorry I cannot provide more details on the client.
