PPC Campaign Setup Fee - Fair?

We already do our PPC campaigns with an agency and we're looking to create another campaign. They told us that the amount of traffic around our campaign would allow for about $2-3k spend per month, possibly with some additional funds placed into display ads. For this campaign, they have proposed a setup fee of $2k and an increased management fee of $750 -- is this a reasonable price?

Thanks for the advice. I agree that someone who knows our business would have a better chance of optimizing our campaigns -- just not sure if we have the resources to accomplish this.
As far as the work required by the agency, it would involve only the campaign setup (research & building the campaigns) and optimization after introduction. They will not be doing any landing page optimization.
I guess I feel $2k is a high setup fee to charge when the monthly ad spend is only $2k. I'm not too worried about the $750 management fee, which is the fee that will be applied to the agency's optimization efforts -- but if the traffic is only enough to recommend $2k in ad spend, are they really doing $2k worth of "setup" work? I guess if we had a higher ad spend, it might make more sense to start the campaign, since the setup efforts would remain the same but with a bigger budget.

Some business areas can easily spend well over $2-3k for just one keyword. Some can not reach that over all of the profitably relevant keywords combined. There can be an enormous difference in effort between those situations - both in setting them up and monitoring progress. Then a person can get into the details of landing page optimization and A/B testing. Enormous amounts of work can go into that.
So, the bottom line depends upon the difficulty/diversity of your keyword suite and the amount of time that your agency will dedicate to making you money and optimizing.
If I had this situation, I would start experimenting myself (or have a smart employee do it) with PPC and that includes both optimizing the ads and optimizing the landing pages (if you are not doing both you are blowing an awful lot of money). Then when I knew a little I would attend the two day Adwords seminar of Brad Geddes and run the campaigns myself.
My personal opinion is that a person with inside knowledge of a business, its products and its economics has an enormous advantage over an SEO once he becomes competent with the PPC process and most importantly understands Google's quality score.

Anyone Think AdWords Campaigns Hurt Organic CTRs, Decreasing Organic Rankings?
Hi All, It seems like just about everyone agrees that AdWords campaigns and SEO campaigns bring additional value when used in conjunction (increasing Impressions, Clicks, Conversions, etc.), but has anyone considered AdWords performance harming organic rankings by decreasing engagement metrics? I've been searching for studies, blog posts, investigations, etc. this morning and haven't been able to find anyone discussing this specific idea. Personally, I think decreased engagement for organic results would be relatively evenly distributed among those results, making engagement drops relative and thus nullifying their impact on rankings. Any other ideas out there? Thanks!

PPC software.. which one do you think is better? why?
hey guys... I am trying to figure out the best way of doing PPC. I dont want waste money doing it the less effective way. So far I have been looking at Acquisio and wordstream.. I am not sure which would be best for me or if there is other options that would be even better. I am in house in charge of 2 ecommerce websites.

PPC Landing Pages and Rel Canonical
Hi Mozzers! Our company has hundreds of PPC landing pages which are essentially request a quote forms. We also have a request a quote form on our website that is for regular traffic. Currently we just added the "noindex" meta tag to all our PPC landing pages, but I think we can improve this. Should we remove the "noindex" tag, and instead add a rel canonical link pointing to our "main" request a quote form? Thoughts?

Google PPC - coupon balances
So, I know that you can't simply transfer a coupon credit in Google AdWords to another account. My question, if anyone knows, is there a way to do this using My Client Center? We manage multiple accounts, and have another coming on board that has a pre-existing coupon credit. We were going to set up a new account (which we would handle billing for and just invoice) for the client. But, that would leave them unable to use a coupon code. If it's managed under MCC, is there a way to work around this?

Is PPC worthwhile for a product with no search volume?
I'm working on a PPC campaign for a client who provides a luxury service. He has very little search volume in general, and there's one product that has no volume at all. I'm wondering if it's worthwhile to run a campaign for this product using the general keywords. I estimate that 95% of the population has no intention of using our service and can't afford it even if they did. For example, say we're a concierge doctor service. When people search for 'medical doctor' or 'medical treatment' they are looking for doctors, and we probably could help them, but they won't want us when they could go to the doctor's office down the street and pay a fraction of the price. Obviously I'd tailor the keywords so it would be as relevant as possible. Yay: If my ads are clear, then whoever clicks them is interested in my product, so my money is being well spent. I'll just have a very low CTR. Nay: Spend the money on advertisement tailored to the target market, both people with existing interest, and those who would want it if they knew we existed. Yay or nay?

Running Adwords Campaigns to show Improvement in Organic Traffic
Hi mozers, I have a new client who contacted because his organic traffic dropped all of a sudden from 5000 visits per month to 300 visits per month. I have been reviewing his website profile and there are several reasons that take me to beleave the agency that managed his account until 3 months ago, was doing PPC to show improvement in the orgranic (SEO Service) traffic. 1. The Website was showing traffic for several highly competitive keywords 2. Most of the traffic 95% was driven to the home page with several groups of keywords 3. The website has just a few external links with anchor text not related to keywords sending traffic. Is anyone familiar with this type of practice? Thanks in advanced.
