Still no good search results after 2 months of indexation
-
Hi guys,
One of our website (https://www.residentiebosrand.be/) has been online for about two months. It's indexed and Google shows search results. But the website is not ranking on the keywords it's supposed to be ranking: 'residentie bosrand'.
How come we still don't find the website on the first pages in the search results, while these are the main keywords on the website's URL, page, ... ?
Best regards,
-
The thing about this website game regardless of it's intent and mechanism of monetization you have to be capable of not looking at things in terms of time and deadlines, goals. You plant a seed the seed will grow. If you don't water it, it will die. Unfortunately, unlike trees, you can't guarantee nor approximate when and how much fruit it's going to bring in for your harvest if you ever even get that far.
One day, one step at a time, what is it you can do today, to improve the size, and quality of your site. Do the same thing the next day. There is no "My website is complete" It is a certainty the better quality content and design, the better quality and visit times/quantities will be for you.
The more content and pages, the more possibilities and reasons for visitors to appear. Until you have 20 really solid amazing pieces of content on your site, don't stray or go link building. Because what will be the point?
The first time it occurs if you take everyone here's advice it will most likely be MUCH quicker than it took me, because I resisted making content as long as humanely possible like an idiot but this occurence is amazing! You'll eventually produce something Google thinks is godly.
That content could literally be relevant amongst some ridiculously tough key phase, it will just seemingly skyrocket to the first page like it belonged there from the beginning of time and was nailed firmly in place! It's crazy encountering it because you see so often the times in which Google is letting the most ridiculous events occur and make no sense of it.
But then their algorithm will unexpectedly do something brilliant, genuinely rewarding you for your hard work! Don't get used to it! It is rare! but it happens

Hello there,
Since you already got replies telling you that things can take some time, I would just provide you with something that you could do to expedite the process.
- Press release
- Setup relevant social profiles, GMB, and link to your own website make sure you have a consistent NAP
- Get citations from the local website
- Build some quality backlinks
Upon checking the keyword "residentie bosrand", I found that it wasn't a keyword with much competition either, and you have an exact match domain. So I believe the above tips can easily get you rank for your own brand name in a matter of days.
BTW, considering giving a more descriptive file name for your PDF, Google might think they're spammy. Or just simply hide them from search results. (https://moz.com/community/q/no-index-pdfs)
Hope this helps,

Hi there,
I have been in same boat myself with a brand new website that wasn't actually ranking for its own brand name.
This is just usually something which fixes itself over time, it can be frustrating but as long as you are following guidelines and publishing fresh and unique content then you will get there in now time.
I hope this helps

Hi Conversal
I remember you asking this before. It's common for Google to take time to rank new websites. It can take a year to fully optimise all of your search positions so I am not surprised at all. Even scanning the site with SEMrusg give sthis information:
"Sorry, we haven't found any information related to your request in the google.co.uk database.
There are some reasons why this could occur:
- 1. The domain name was mistyped. Please make sure it is spelt** correctly.**
- 2. The website with this domain name does not exist.
- 3. This is a new website and we don't have it in our databases yet.
- 4. We haven't noticed this domain rank in Google's top 100 organic or paid search results for keywords from our databases."
You really need to be patient and in the meantime maybe use pay per click or other means to get traffic.
Some sites can get lucky but they are few and far between:

Just make sure your site is the best it can be and be patient. Follow every SEO tip you can, meta titles, descriptions, images, H1, H2s, on page content and make sure each page has its own unique theme and user intent and the traffic will come.
Regards NIgel

Where can I find a breakdown of google search volume by specific industry/vertical? For example, what % of people searching in google are looking for housing? Cars? Restaurants?
I"m looking for specific breakdowns of search volume in google by: #1 Vertical (Shopping/restaurants/Services etc). For example, how many people are searching in google for information pertaining to restaurants per month? Search volume for all of 2012, 2013, 2014? #2 More granular categories within verticals, people searching for: books, apartment rentals, cellphones) Is there a breakdown of google search somewhere online that gives this type of information? Thank you MOZ community, really appreciate it!

Is it possible that Google may have erroneous indexing dates?
I am consulting someone for a problem related to copied content. Both sites in question are WordPress (self hosted) sites. The "good" site publishes a post. The "bad" site copies the post (without even removing all internal links to the "good" site) a few days after. On both websites it is obvious the publishing date of the posts, and it is clear that the "bad" site publishes the posts days later. The content thief doesn't even bother to fake the publishing date. The owner of the "good" site wants to have all the proofs needed before acting against the content thief. So I suggested him to also check in Google the dates the various pages were indexed using Search Tools -> Custom Range in order to have the indexing date displayed next to the search results. For all of the copied pages the indexing dates also prove the "bad" site published the content days after the "good" site, but there are 2 exceptions for the very 2 first posts copied. First post:

On the "good" website it was published on 30 January 2013
On the "bad" website it was published on 26 February 2013
In Google search both show up indexed on 30 January 2013! Second post:
On the "good" website it was published on 20 March 2013
On the "bad" website it was published on 10 May 2013
In Google search both show up indexed on 20 March 2013! Is it possible to be an error in the date shown in Google search results? I also asked for help on Google Webmaster forums but there the discussion shifted to "who copied the content" and "file a DMCA complain". So I want to be sure my question is better understood here.
It is not about who published the content first or how to take down the copied content, I am just asking if anybody else noticed this strange thing with Google indexing dates. How is it possible for Google search results to display an indexing date previous to the date the article copy was published and exactly the same date that the original article was published and indexed?0 -
Is it normal to receive 2 mails from Google?
I filed a reconsideration request that was answered in less than a week. Subsequently I was told that no manual penalty was in place but various algorithm factors might be causing my heavy drops in ranking. Then I got a second email which was even more specific. This was great, really heartening stuff and a total surprise as it was very helpful. Is it normal to receive 2 emails from Google with such clear information? I have been very pleased by the comments they have made as it has shown me that they're more customer focused than I had been led to believe by all the research I had done pre reconsideration request. Has anyone else had a clear outline of what they needed to fix and has their site subsequently rebounded post fixing?

Trying to figure out why one of my popular pages was de-indexed from Google.
I wanted to share this with everyone for two reasons. 1. To try to figure out why this happened, and 2 Let everyone be aware of this so you can check some of your pages if needed. Someone on Facebook asked me a question that I knew I had answered in this post. I couldn't remember what the url was, so I googled some of the terms I knew was in the page, and the page didn't show up. I did some more searches and found out that the entire page was missing from Google. This page has a good number of shares, comments, Facebook likes, etc (ie: social signals) and there is certainly no black / gray hat techniques being used on my site. This page received a decent amount of organic traffic as well. I'm not sure when the page was de-indexed, and wouldn't have even known if I had't tried to search for it via google; which makes me concerned that perhaps other pages are being de-indexed. It also concerns me that I have done something wrong (without knowing) and perhaps other pages on my site are going to be penalized as well. Does anyone have any idea why this page would be de-indexed? It sure seems like all the signals are there to show Google this page is unique and valuable. Interested to hear some of your thoughts on this. Thanks

How to build good content and choose right keywords.?
I have started building content for our website using the Wordpress tool. Now I wanted to know that I use GA and the Adwords keyword tool. I go in for exact matching keywords and have selected a few of them. How do I know if these keywords are actually the ones going to give me good traffic? How can I select good keywords and write content along them. I don't wish to over stuff articles with the keywords. How can I refrain from doing so. Any optimum limit through which I know how much of the keyword needs to occur how many times within an article? Please give some good insights as to how this is accomplished? Thanks

Why some results in SERP have a www. and some don't
Hello all, If this is posted twice, I didn't mean for it to be - but it looks like last time I tried to post this question it didn't post. This is my question: How come some results on Google's SERP page are shown with a "www" and some are not? Does this effect SEO at all? I am including a screen shot so you can see what I mean. The Geary Interactive result has a "www" in front of while ingenexdigital doesn't. R6GLL.png

When Google crawls and indexes a new page does it show up immediately in Google search - "site;"?
We made changes to a site, including the addition of a new page and corresponding link/text changes to existing pages. The changes are not yet showing up in the Google index (“site:”/cache), but, approximately 24 hours after making the changes, The SERP's for this site jumped up. We obtained a new back link about a couple of weeks ago, but it is not yet showing up in OSE, Webmaster Tools, or other tools. Just wondering if you think the Google SERP changes run ahead of what they actually show us in site: or cache updates. Has Google made a significant SERP “adjustment” recently? Thanks.

What are the good strategies using satellite sites in SEO??
Hello to everybody, We'are thinking about launching a massive amount of satellite websites in order to promote our website. Is it really efficient in terms of link building? Or is the ROI really small due to the amount of time and money needed to create and manage these websites? Thanks a lot!!! Update: Thanks to all of you for all these interesting answers!
