How do I authenticate a script with Search Console API to pull data
-
In regards to this article, https://moz.com/blog/how-to-get-search-console-data-api-python
I've gotten all the way to the part where I need to authenticate the script to run. I give access to GSC and the local host code comes up. In the article, it says to grab the portion between = and #, but that doesnt seem to be the case anymore. This is what comes up in the browser
When I put portions of it in, it always comes back with an error.
Help!

Hi Jo. So I think that you want everything after code= and before the &.
In the example you pasted, that would be:
4/igAqIfNQFWkpKyK6c0im0Eop9soZiztnftEcorzcr3vOnad6iyhdo3DnDT1-3YFtvoG3BgHko4n1adndpLqjXEE
If that doesn't work (or rather, it doesn't work when you re-run it and use whatever value comes up next time), let us know and I'll pull in someone who has done this themselves (I'm just reading the same instructions!).
Good luck

I heard recently from an SEO friend that with Google's recent update, mobile page speed now affects desktop results. Our site is relatively slow on mobile, and I wanted to check! Thank you!

Keep getting "/feed" broken links in Google Search Console
Hey guys, I'm having an issue for the past few months. I keep getting "/feed" broken links in Google Search Console (screenshot attached). The site is a WordPress site using the YoastSEO plugin for on-page SEO and sitemap. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Did you fix it? How should I redirect these links? s7elXMy

Abnormally high internal link reported in Google Search Console not matching Moz reports
If I'm looking at our internal link count and structure on Google Search Console, some pages are listed as having over a thousand internal links within our site. I've read that having too many internal links on a page devalues that page's PageRank, because the value is divided amongst the pages it links out to. Likewise, I've heard having too many internal links is just bad in general for SEO. Is that true? The problem I'm facing is determining how Google is "discovering" these internal links. If I'm just looking at one single page reported with, say, 1,350 links and I'm just looking at the code, it may only have 80 or 90 actual links. Moz will confirm this, as well. So why would Google Search Console report different? Should I be concerned about this?

Rel-canonical and meta data
Hey Mozzers, Help please. I am migrating content for a new website (1000's of pages) and am using the canonical tag on a number of pages. For the pages which I am asking Google not to recognise / index as the master version, and in the interests of time do I need to take the time to fill in the meta <title><description> etc each time?</p> <p>Ben</p></title>

Base HREF set without HTTP. Will this cause search issues?
The base href has been set in the following format: <base href="//www.example.com/"> I am working on a project where many of the programming team don't believe that SEO has an impact on a website. So, we often see some strange things. Recently, they have rolled out an update to the website template that includes the base href I listed above. I found out about it when some of our tools such as Xenu link checker - suddenly stopped working. Google appears to be indexing the the pages fine and following the links without any issue - but I wonder if there is any long term SEO considerations to building the internal links in this manner? Thanks!

Meta data in includes: not ideal or a problem?
I have pages with meta data being pulled in via an include. This was to prevent people from touching the pages themselves. Is this an optimization issue- or is it OK to do?
