Wordpress pages posts

Say you have a WordPress website with reviews and lists.
Would you use "post" or "page" type for them?
Is there any SEO advantage in using pages/subpages instead of posts?
-
Hi,
thanks for taking the time to answer, but honestly this does not address the point I am trying to make.
Lets see if I can be more clear with an example.Let's suppose I have an affiliate WordPress website that reviews cameras.
OPTION 1: My URLs at the moment are "POST" type:
/best-camera
/best-sony-camera
/best-fujifilm-camera
/fujifilm-xt20-review
/canon-60d-review
/nikkon-750d-reviewOPTION 2: Other websites in my niche have also a wordpress website and they posted the same topics as "PAGE" type:
/best-camera
/best-camera/sony
/best-camera/fujifilm
/review/fujifilm-xt20
/review/canon-60d
/review/nikkon-750dHere, best sony camera and fujifilm review are wordpress child pages of the parent pages review and best cameras
Question:
How much SEO advantage do these people (the PAGE type people - option 2) have over me (POST type website - option 1)?
Is it gonna be worthwhile for me to re-design my website and have all my option 1 re-organized as option 2?
When I started my website many years ago I didn't have any idea what I was doing so I just did it all as posts. But these people clearly are experienced and started the website with the right foot. So I am wondering if it's gonna be worthwhile for me to transform my website structure from option 1 into option 2.

Hi Fabx
It really depends on what you want to achieve. Pages are to be considered a permanent feature of the hierarchy of the website. Those which you would naturally find in the site structure and probably in the menus at the top.
Posts are dated pieces of content which form a natural part of the blog. These are themes pieces of content which don't fall into the natural structure. News stories and updates on the business.
For reviews, many themes have a testimonial section when you can publish reviews and then add them using shortcodes wherever you need to in the website. If you do not have this as part of your theme then consider uploading a suitable plugin to handle them. I would always encourage site owners to get as many Google reviews as possible then use a plugin such as BNE Testimonial to add them to your site in a widget.
For lists, you need to be more specific. These can be numbered (ordered) or bullet-pointed (un-ordered) as part of any page or post depending on the content of the pages.
I hope that helps
Nigel

Is it ok to repeat a (focus) keyword used on a previous page, on a new page?
I am cataloguing the pages on our website in terms of which focus keyword has been used with the page. I've noticed that some pages repeated the same keyword / term. I've heard that it's not really good practice, as it's like telling google conflicting information, as the pages with the same keywords will be competing against each other. Is this correct information? If so, is the alternative to use various long-winded keywords instead? If not, meaning it's ok to repeat the keyword on different pages, is there a maximum recommended number of times that we want to repeat the word? Still new-ish to SEO, so any help is much appreciated! V.

I think that is a problem related to Wordpress URL in Wordpress settings (Image 2). However i would like to know if anybody had the same problem or if there are other possibile causes. Thank you in advance! zDVL0pj aB7MeGe0 -
What is the proper way to execute 'page to page redirection'
I need to redirection every page of my website to a new url of another site I've made. I intend to add:"Redirect 301 /oldpage.html http://www.example.com/newpage.html"I will use the 301 per page to redirect every page of my site, but I'm confused that if I add:"Redirect 301 / http://mt-example.com/" it will redirect all of my pages to the homepage and ignore the URLs i have separately mentioned for redirection. Please guide me.

What things should I consider if I am doing a 301 redirect on only 1 page/blog post?
I wrote a blog post on one of my websites and it got picked up by reddit and I got a bunch of nice backlinks and now that website got a nice boost overall, and especially that blog post page. I now wish I would have posted the article on a different website of mine. I would prefer if this other site was getting the traffic and the good backlinks that I've acquired. What are the pros and cons if I move the content over to my other website, and 301 redirect just that one article to the article location on my other website? The blog post I wrote almost instantly began ranking for certain terms in Google. Ideally I would like my other website to rank for those terms, but I realize there will be some differences as search engines look at the website as a whole and take many factors into consideration. I know there are tons of case studies and information about moving entire sites etc but I couldn't find much on this. Any advice, questions or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Why Would This Old Page Be Penalized?
Here's an old page on a trustworthy domain with no apparent negative SEO activity according to OSE and ahrefs: http://www.gptours.com/Monaco-Grand-Prix They went from page 1 to page 13 for "monaco grand prix" within about 4 weeks. Week 2 we pulled out all the duplicate content in the history section. When rank slipped further, we put it back. Yet it's still moving down, while other pages on the website are holding strong. Next steps will be to add some schema.org/Event microformats, but beyond that, do you have any ideas?

Why does my home page show up in search results instead of my target page for a specific keyword?
I am using Wordpress and am targeting a specific keyword..and am using Yoast SEO if that question comes up.. and I am at 100% as far as what they recommend for on page optimization. The target html page is a "POST" and not a "Page" using Wordpress definitions. Also, I am using this Pinterest style theme here http://pinclone.net/demo/ - which makes the post a sort of "pop-up" - but I started with a different theme and the results below were always the case..so I don't know if that is a factor or not. (I promise .. this is not a clever spammy attempt to promote their theme - in fact parts of it don't even work for me yet so I would not recommend it just yet...) I DO show up on the first page for my keyword.. however.. instead of Google showing the page www.mywebsite.com/this-is-my-targeted-keyword-page.htm Google shows www.mywebsite.com in the results instead. The problem being - if the traffic goes only to my home page.. they will be less likely to stay if they dont find what they want immediately and have to search for it.. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

There's a website I'm working with that has a .php extension. All the pages do. What's the best practice to remove the .php extension across all pages?
Client wishes to drop the .php extension on all their pages (they've got around 2k pages). I assured them that wasn't necessary. However, in the event that I do end up doing this what's the best practices way (and easiest way) to do this? This is also a WordPress site. Thanks.
