How do you store your passwords?
-
I have seen many solutions and tried most of them. But when serving multiple companies the amount of passwords one has gets astounding. It is hard to find a way to securely store them, but also have the convienence of looking them up.
What solutions do you recommend?
-
Yes, you can add tags like I do to sort out business vs personal ones!

Since LastPass (www.LastPass.com) acquired XMarks, I've become a raving fan of LastPass -- it works across multiple computers, on my iPhone and iPad, and helps me to create unique/impossible passwords for all sites. Love it.

I've been using roboform for years... I have at least a hundred passwords sroted, and catorgized by website. I'm not affilitated with them in any way (except being a happy customer). I will say, if you try a free trial, I guarantee you'll love it!
They just came out with a subscription model ($10/ year) that allows you to use your logins on any computer/ device.
PS. I also buy it for some of my customers, to make my job easier

I use clipperz.com. It also does one-click logins!

Looks like it checks out, does it have the ability to organize passwords by company or profile?
-
I know that it can sound weird, but when it comes to passwords I usually use a combination of domain name + a alfanumeric code of 6 caracters that - like the numbers code in Lost - I remember since sooo many years.

I absolutely adore 1Password (http://agilewebsolutions.com/onepassword), which has been a long-time Mac utility, but they recently released a Windows version. Not only do I store all my usernames and passwords in 1Password, I also use it for software license keys, rewards membership programs, and more.
They also support the iPhone and iPad, which makes all of this information availability on the go.

Hi Spencer:
I use an open source product calledKeePass. It's a tiny program that resides on my flash drive. Very easy to use, and access can be password protected or you can use a physical "key" that resides on the flash drive itself (my choice as the drive never leaves my desk.
I can't imagine going back to the piece of paper method and having to manually type the characters in now. I just copy and paste and in seconds I'm in.

I know its a very lo-fi solution, but I use a black moleskine notebook (pacman edition to be more precise) I carry around all the time.

Hello I have a Magento Store View issue!
Hi guys hope you can help - we have recenetly added a couple of "store views" to our magento website, in order for us to break down orders from channels that feed through M2e pro. What is great is that it gives us a little break down on amazon, ebay and the store sales separate, depending on which we select. However - we have ran into a issue with duplicate content, mainly on pages such as the checkout? /checkout/?___store=default&___from_store=m2e_ebay /checkout/?___store=default&___from_store=m2e_amazon Issue being the above - I am hoping we can keep how we have broken down the store for a quick reporting instance by day. However how do / if I can - get round this?? Surely if I was to redirect on the checkout it would cause issues. Any advice greatly appreciated Kelly

Wordpress SEO for ecommerce store
I have been working on a wordpress ecommerce website and want to check that I am doing something correctly so hope someone can help. The Wordpress theme did not allow for an introductory content so the developer built a content page Instead to work as a front end category page so there was more flexibility. I have set the product categories to follow- no index and set the content page as the canonical version and optimised the content page.. question is - is that the right thing to do?

Are images stored in Amazon S3 buckets indexable to your domain?
We're storing all our images in S3 bucket, common practice, but we want to get these images to drive traffic back to our site -- and credit for that traffic. We've configured the URLs to be s3.owler.com/<image_name>/<image_id>. I've not seen any of these images show in our web master tools. I am wondering if we're actually not going to get the credit for these images because technically they do sit on another domain. </image_id></image_name>

Scraping a Password Protected Page
Hey Everyone, I'm looking for some help regarding my website. I have multiple pages on my site that are password protected (we only give the password to potential clients).... Somehow, when doing a google search, i found a directory that has successfully scraped and pulled all of the information from the password protected pages and is displaying this info on their site... This is very bad for us as obviously this information is critical and not intended to be shared with the rest of the world Does anyone have any advice on how to prevent my password protected pages from being scraped/crawled? Thanks!

I have an eCommerce store with a lot of 301 redirects. Would that hurt my rankings?
I use BigCommerce, and they have a system where all the URLs are dynamically generated from the name of each product. So if I named a product "widget x y z" the url would be /widget-x-y-z/, and if I changed that to "blue widget x y z", it would change to /blue-widget-x-y-z/ and automatically redirect the old one to the new one. As a result, in 6 months, because of a lot of tweaking and experimenting, I've ended up with a hefty list of 400 redirects. Some of them are very old, and some are recent. So my question is in two parts: a) does having all of these redirects hurt my rankings? b) if so, would deleting them help?

Can I crawl a password protected domain with SEOmoz?
Hi everyone, Just wondered if anybody has been able to use the SEOmoz site crawler for password protected domains? On Screaming Frog you are prompted for the username and password when you set the crawler running, however SEOmoz doesn't. It seems you can only crawl sites that are live and publicly available - can anyone confirm if this is the case? Cheers, M
