Not counting seomoz or Distilled, what are your top3 SEO blogs you wouldchoose to read if you had a hard limit of 3 total?
-
Recently on Q&A, Petra weighed in with a link tool site that had completely missed my radar. My problem is lack of time. I don't have enough of it to readthe2 dozen+ SEO blogscurrently in my RSS feed I would like to tobe able to read to stay current. So I end up only reading at the moz.
I'm hoping the collective wisdom of the SEOmoz crowd will shine forthand set me on the road of pursuit of new knowledge with the best of the best blogs

SearchCap- As Kristy said, the digest version.
SEO by the Sea- Bill stays on top of patents, which helps future-proof your sites.
SEO Book- Aaron stays on top of SEO goings-on.

Hey Cowboy -
Some of my favs include:
http://www.johnon.com/ - John Andrews' Competitive Webmastering & SEO
http://www.seobythesea.com/ - Bill Slawski's SEO by the Sea
http://www.conversationmarketing.com - Ian Lurie's Conversation Marketing
-
Apart from already mentioned, I like http://www.seroundtable.com/:
- They provide really up-to-date information.
- They have mobile version. I read them mostly on my BlackBerry while standing in queue, waiting on something, on the lift etc.
- The provide a lot of links for deeper discovering.
- Their articles are useful.
-
I'm a huge fan of SearchCap. I take 15-30 minutea each day and review it. Typically keeps me up to date on anyything happening in the industry.
-
Searchcap is what you're looking for - feed version gives me a daily update of stuff to read: http://searchengineland.com/feeds
-
There is a TON of stuff there - agreed. I tend to rely on their emails for the "digest" version. Able to skim titles/topics and the best content is pushed out there.

Back in August 2010 Rand listed his top 10 which can be found at:-
http://www.seomoz.org/blog/best-seo-blogs-top-10-sources-to-stay-uptodate
As well as listing them he also explained why he reads them.
I bookmarked his post (which I refer regularly to) so I didn't need to bookmark all of his recommendations.
-
Thanks Thomas. I'll give two of them a shot (already follow Pete who's quite funny)
-
To be honest, I only read SEOmoz regularly. Besides that, my reading effort is spread out wide and primarily influenced by twitter. So instead of following blogs, I prefer following Twitter people - especially those who don't just link to their own blog. My top 3 there would be:
@crazyegg
@KISSinsights
@dr_pete
-
I've recently discovered: http://explicitly.me/ and love it.
-
searchengineland.com is one of my favourites, too. But I always read the http://searchengineland.com/searchcap-the-day-in-search-date.... there I have kind of a "best of" and scan trought the titles and select then the post I read.
http://www.searchenginejournal.com/
http://www.ericward.com/ - I like his way of thinking regarding link building (but this is not in the top3 (seomoz of course, too).
-
-
Sorry for the Distilled omission mate. I fixed it in edit. Oh! forgot to say welcome to the States!
-
Thanks Tom. The problem I have with SearchEngineland is that there's too much info. I find that I tend to move on without reading if I'm short time. Now a "Readers Digest" of SEL would be great!

Tough question! Ignoring both seomoz and distilled I'd probably go for:

Does Server Speed Effect SEO Rankings?
I was told by a website developer that Google ranks sites higher if they are hosted on faster servers. Is this true? For example my site is currently limited because it is a Quick Shopping Cart site hosted by Godaddy. He said that if I hosted my research chemical site with a different company with faster servers I could get better ranking immediately. I linked to my site. I think it loads ok. However Godaddy probably isn't the fastest service around.

Doing SEO when using location is not an option
When doing SEO for a company that does not have a specific location (they are an online-only retailer), and doesn't want their manufacturing location given, what is some advice on other great SEO tactics that will help counter the disadvantages of not using anything location-related (Google Places, directory submissions, etc). Obviously backlinking and on-page optimization, but in regards to the fact that Google is becoming more and more encouraging of sites that are location-optimized and listed in many records such as Places, Yelp, directories, etc., does anyone have any advice?

What are the things I should tell my website developer to keep in mind for on-page SEO wise while outsourcing it?
I have done the keyword research for my target and will do the copy writing in-house suited for both visitors and bots.Like suitable headers and mention of keyword in the content,mention of keyword in link,having video in the page if possible etc. I need some help for a proper interlinking strategy and main question is, what are the things to be taken care of in coding/development SEO wise,which should be told to developer. I am going for custom development in .NET platform( if it matters anyway ) My site will have 3 products/services page and rest are resources and Q&A community. I am targeting the keywords for 3 products. Q&A community and resources should help me in long tail keywords. Any kind of advice,suggestion is welcome. Thanks
